디지털 매체의 발달과 교육에 대한 관심은 전 세계적으로 디지털 교육디바이스의 발전을 가져왔다. 교육 선진국인 영국은 전자 칠판, 전자 책상 등 다양한 디지털 교육 매체를 활용하고 있고 일본은 Ditt 액션 플랜을 계획하여 디지털 교과서를 국가적 차원에서 투자 발전시키고 있다. 인터넷 선진국인 한국의 경우는 2007년 수학 디지털 교과서를 시작으로 과학교과서를 거쳐 2010년 영어 공교육강화 정책이 시행되면서 2011년 영어디지털 교과서가 국가 정책의 일환으로 도입 되었다. 빠르게 디지털 교육매체를 받아들이고 발전시키고 있는 과도기적 시점에서 효율적인 교육 효과와 디자인 가이드의 설립을 위하여 디지털 교육 선진국의 디지털 교과서 및 교육 매체의 적용 사례연구를 통한 장단점을 분석하여 한국 디지털 교육의 나아갈 방향을 잡는 것이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 LG 유럽 디자인 센터를 기반으로 디지털 교육의 선진국인 영국과, 복지 사회의 기반위에서 적극적인 디지털 교육을 이끌고 있는 스웨덴을 사례 연구 대상국으로 선정하며. FGI, 집중 관찰 분석, 설문, 휴리스틱, KJ 법을 통해 2차례로 분석하며, 현황분석은 국가적으로 막대한 투자를 받고 있는 영국을 중심으로 살펴보며, 스웨덴은 사례연구 및 설문 분석 시 포함한다. 분석 결과 대체적으로 디지털 교과서를 단독으로 사용하는 교육보다는 프린트 교과서 사용을 병행하여 각 매체의 장단점을 적절히 활용하여 수업하는 것을 선호하고 있었으며 학생 및 교사의 만족도도 높게 나타났다. 특히 교사들이 쉽게 적응할 수 있는 디지털 매체의 GUI 디자인이 요구되고 있었다. 이에 향후 디지털 교과서 디자인 기획에 있어서 타겟층(교사와 학생)의 사전 조사 및 설문 분석을 통해 사용자의 특성을 고려한 디지털교육 매체만을 위한 디자인 기획을 해야 한다. 본 연구결과는 디지털 해외 선진국의 사례를 파악하여 국내 디지털 교육산업에 기초 자료로 활용하는데 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relations between phonetic differences among Korean learners' production of English front vowels, pronunciation intelligibility and speaking proficiency test score. To do so, thirty Korean university students were asked (1) to read English text book paragraphs and (2) describe a picture. Two English native raters and one Korean rater evaluated Korean subjects' English pronunciation intelligibility and speaking. In addition, subjects' English vowel productions were acoustically analyzed(F0, F1, F2, vowel duration, intensity). The results of the study show that the vowel quality and pitch of the unstressed vowels and lax vowel are related to the pronunciation intelligibility. In addition, the scores of pronunciation intelligibility and speaking are highly related.

The Taisei Sankei(大成算経 in Japanese) or the Dacheng Suanjing(in Chinese) is a book of mathematics written by Seki Takakazu 関孝和, Takebe Kataakira 建部賢明 and Takebe Katahiro 建部賢弘. The title can be rendered into English as the Great Accomplishment of Mathematics. This book can be considered as one of the main achievements of the Japanese traditional mathematics, wasan, of the early 18th century. The compilation took 28 years, started in 1683 and completed in 1711. The aim of the book was to expose systematically all the mathematics known to them together with their own mathematics. It is a monumental book of wasan of the Edo Period (1603-1868). The book is of 20 volumes with front matter called Introduction and altogether has about 900 sheets. It was written in classical Chinese, which was a formal and academic language in feudal Japan. In this lecture we would like to introduce the wasan as expressed in the Taisei Sankei and three authors of the book. The plan of the paper is as follows: first, the Japanese mathematics in the Edo Period was stemmed from Chinese mathematics, e.g., the Introduction to Mathematics (1299); second, three eminent mathematicians were named as the authors of the Taisei Sankei according to the Biography of the Takebe Family; third, contents of the book showed the variety of mathematics which they considered important; fourth, the book was not printed but several manuscripts have been made and conserved in Japanese libraries; and finally, we show a tentative translation of parts of the text into English to show the organization of the encyclopedic book.

2007년 수학 교과서의 공교육 최초 디지털 교과서 적용을 시작으로 영어, 과학 등 다양한 분야에 디지털 교과서를 활용한 교육이 실시되고 있다. 초반에 아날로그 형식의 종이 교과서를 그대로 스캔하여서 사용했던 수준을 넘어 이제는 디지털 교과서만을 위한 전문화된 디자인 및 콘텐츠가 기획 단계부터 실시되어 적용되고 있으며 국립 교과서 및 검정 교과서에서도 엄체 경쟁을 통해서 보다 수준 높은 디자인 및 콘텐츠를 엄선하고 있다. 그러나 이는 디지털 교과서 하나의 매체에 국한된 것이며 국외 교육 선진국의 다양한 디지털 교육매체의 활용에는 뒤쳐져 있는 게 현실이다. 이에 본 연구는 LG 전자 유럽 디자인센터를 기점으로 영국 및 스웨덴의 선진 교육을 통해 디지털 교육매체를 수년간 접하여 이에 따른 사용자 경험과 니즈가 쌓인 사용자들을 타겟으로 휴리스틱 분석, 설문 등의 사용자 조사를 실시한다. 이에 교육 주체의 디지털 교과서 디자인의 니즈를 대입하여 세분화한 후 이를 현재 영국 및 스웨덴 선진국에서 사용하고 있는 디지털 교육매체 디자인에 간단하게 접목시켜본다. 디지털 교과서만을 접한 국내 사용자의 니즈와 사용자 경험에 비교한 결과 설문타겟 사용자들은 상당히 수준 높고 현실적이며 교육의 개별화에 치중하는 사용자 니즈(customer needs) 즉 사용자들이 원하는 것을 보여주고 있었으며 이는 디지털 매체가 적응해 나가는 초기 적용단계의 요구사항에서는 볼 수 없던 것이다. 본 논문의 결과는 선진국의 설문 조사를 통한 사용자들의 요구 즉 니즈를 파악하고 이를 적용한 디자인 교육매체의 동향을 파악하는데 기초 자료로 활용하고자 한다. 단순히 예쁘고 화려하며 디지털화 하는데서 만족하는 게 아니라 디지털 교육매체 디자인의 사용자 요구의 방향성을 미리 파악하고 이를 기획 단계부터 적용하여 교육 선진국과의 사용자 편의성의 차이를 줄이는데 도움이 되고자 한다.

For Romantic women writers the paratext itself is essentially a masculine literary space affiliated with established writing practices; however, this paper suggests that Charlotte Turner Smith's mode of discourse in her use of notes and their relation to the text proper are never fixed in her contemplative blank-verse long poem, Beachy Head (1807). Even though the display of learning in the paratext partly supports the woman writer's claim to authority, this paper argues that Smith's endnotes also indicate her way of challenging the double bind for women writers, summoning masculine authority on the margins of her book while simultaneously interrogating essentialist thinking and instructions about one's identity in a culture and on the printed page. The poem shows how the fringes of the book can be effectively transformed from a masculine site of authority to an increasingly feminized site of interchange as Smith writes with an awareness of patriarchal, imperial abuses of power in that area of the book. There is a persistent transgression of cultural/textual boundaries occurring in Beachy Head, which explores the very scene and languages of imperial encounter. Accordingly, if Wordsworth's theory of composition suggests a subjective and abstract poetic experience-an experience without mediation-in which its medium's purpose seems to be to disappear from the reader's consciousness, an examination of the alternative discourse of self-exposure in Smith's poem reveals the essentially fluid nature of media-consciousness in the Romantic era, which remains little acknowledged in received accounts of Romantic literary culture.

Objectives : A quantitative analysis on the vocabulary in the English translation version of Donguibogam. Methods : This study quantitatively analyzed the English-translated texts of Donguibogam with the Corpus-based analysis, and compared the quantitative results analyzing the texts of original Donguibogam. Results : As the results from conducting the corpus analysis on the English-translation version of Donguibogam, it was found that the number of total words (Token) was about 1,207,376, and the all types of used words were about 20.495 and the TTR (Type/Token Rate) was 1.69. The accumulation rate reaching to the high-ranking 1000 words was 83.54%, and the accumulation rate reaching to the high-ranking 2000 words was 90.82%. As the words having the high-ranking frequency, the function words like 'the, and of, is' mainly appeared, and for the content words, the words like 'randix, qi, rhizoma and water' were appeared in multi frequencies. As the results from comparing them with the corpus analysis results of original version of Donguibogam, it was found that the TTR was higher in the English translation version than that of original version. The compositions of function words and contents words having high-ranking frequencies were similar between the English translation version and the original version of Donguibogam. The both versions were also similar in that their statements in the parts of 'Remedies' and 'Acupuncture' showed higher composition rate of contents words than the rate of function words. Conclusions : The vocabulary in the English translation version of Donguibogam showed that this book was a book keeping the complete form of sentence and an Korean medical book at the same time. Meanwhile, the English translation version of Donguibogam had some problems like the unification of vocabulary due to several translators, and the incomplete delivery of word's meanings from the Chinese character-culture area to the English-culture area, and these problems are considered as the matters to be considered in a work translating Korean old medical books in English.

Editors of medieval texts that are translated from other languages face difficulties when the translation differs significantly from the original. Are the differences unintended, the result of misunderstanding and mistranslation\ulcorner Or do they proceed from a conscious decision on the translator's part to change the meaning of the original\ulcorner Is it possible to be sure one knows the difference\ulcorner This paper discusses three test cases encountered in preparing for the Early English Text Society a critical edition of Sidrak and Bokkus, the fifteenth-century English verse translation of the Old French prose book of knowledge, Le livre de Sidrac.

The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of the method of English teaching and learning through the student-centered environmental instruction. I've been skeptical about the traditional instruction, which is composed of the teachers-centered instruction, because of the lack of creativity. Until now, I've always wished to have an alternative method that can be substituted for routine's style. To achieve it, I selected 90 students from 2 classes, in the 3rd year at a girls' high school in Chungnam as the subject of study. I divided them into two groups, the student-centered environmental instruction and the teacher-centered traditional instruction. The tools used in this study are a preliminary English achievement test, a self-directed learning attitudes test and two teaching plans. For this test, a high school text book was assigned. I have treated 20 times of the test each for two groups using two types of teaching-learning plans which I made for this purpose. To verify the hypotheses after administrating the test, I selected t-verification for post test result. Based on this test result, I could conclude that there was a significant improvement of English proficiency and a change in the self-directed learning attitudes; also the student-centered environmental instruction is more effective than teachers-centered instruction.

인터넷을 통한 사이버 교육은 교육 환경의 발전 및 변화의 주역으로 많은 사람들의 기대를 모으고 있다. 외국어 교육 영역에 있어 교육 효과를 보다 높이기 위해서는 멀티미디어 기법을 잘 활용한 강의 교재 제작은 필수 불가결한 사항이다. 본 논문에서 는 인터넷 기반 가상 교육 체계 하에서 이러한 외국어 학습에 있어 제문제점들을 효과적으로 해결하기 위해 실제상황을 연출하는 멀티미디어 교재를 제작하여 활용할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하면서, 그 효과에 대해서 설명하고자 한다.

최근 들어 스마트폰과 같은 휴대용 장치에 안드로이드 운영체제가 널리 탑재되면서, 안드로이드용 애플리케이션이 활발히 개발되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 텍스트를 음성으로 변환하는 안드로이드용 TTS(Text-to-Speech) 애플리케이션을 개발한다. 기존의 유사 TTS 애플리케이션들과 달리, 본 논문에서 개발한 애플리케이션은 사용자가 직접 입력한 임의의 텍스트를 음성으로 읽어주는 기능과 미리 저장되어 있는 전자책을 불러와 음성으로 읽어주는 기능을 모두 제공한다. 또한 한글과 영어를 모두 지원하기 때문에, 한글 텍스트와 영어 텍스트를 모두 사용할 수 있다. 따라서 본 애플리케이션은 여러 사용자에 의해 다양한 용도로 사용될 수 있다.
