이차적인 변형률효과를 고려한 텐서 불변성 난류에너지 소산율방정식 (A Tensor Invariant Dissipation Equation Accounting for Extra Straining Effects)

  • A tensor invariant model equation for the turbulent energy dissipation rate is proposed in the present study, which is able to simulate secondary straining effects such as curvature effects without the introduction of additional empirical input. The source term in this model has a combined form of the generation term due to the mean vorticity with the conventional one due to the mean strain rate. An extended low-Reynolds-number $k-\epsilon$ turbulence model involving this new model equation is tested for a turbulent Coutte flow between coaxial cylinders with inner cylinder rotated, which is a well defined example of curved flows. The predicted results indicate that the present model works much better for this flow, compared with previous models.

Real-time hybrid simulation of a multi-story wood shear wall with first-story experimental substructure incorporating a rate-dependent seismic energy dissipation device

  • Real-time hybrid simulation (RTHS) of a stacked wood shear wall retrofitted with a rate-dependent seismic energy dissipation device (viscous damper) was conducted at the newly constructed Structural Engineering Laboratory at the University of Alabama. This paper describes the implementation process of the RTHS focusing on the controller scheme development. An incremental approach was adopted starting from a controller for the conventional slow pseudodynamic hybrid simulation and evolving to the one applicable for RTHS. Both benchmark-scale and full-scale tests are discussed to provide a roadmap for future RTHS implementation at different laboratories and/or on different structural systems. The developed RTHS controller was applied to study the effect of a rate-dependent energy dissipation device on the seismic performance of a multi-story wood shear wall system. The test specimen, setup, program and results are presented with emphasis given to inter-story drift response. At 100% DBE the RTHS showed that the multi-story shear wall with the damper had 32% less inter-story drift and was noticeably less damaged than its un-damped specimen counterpart.

드롭랜딩 시 높이 변화에 따른 인체 분절의 충격흡수 전략에 관한 연구 (The Study of Strategy for Energy Dissipation During Drop Landing from Different Heights)

  • The purpose of current study was to investigate the effects of the heights on the lower extremities, torso and neck segments for energy dissipation during single-leg drop landing from different heights. Twenty eight young healthy male subjects(age: $23.21{\pm}1.66yr$, height: $176.03{\pm}4.22cm$, weight: $68.93{\pm}5.36kg$) were participated in this study. The subjects performed the single-leg drop landing from the various height(30, 45 & 60 cm). Force plates and motion-capture system were used to capture ground reaction force and kinematics data, respectively. The results were as follows. First, the ROM at the ankle, knee, hip and trunk was increased with the increased heights but the ROM at the neck was increased in the 60cm. Second, the angular velocity, moment and eccentric work at the ankle, knee, hip, trunk, and neck was increased with the increased heights. Third, the contribution to total work at the knee joint was not significantly different, while the ankle joint rate was decreased and hip and neck rate was increased in the 60cm, and trunk rate was increased with the increased heights. Lastly, the increase in landing height was able to augment the level of energy dissipation not only at the lower extremities but also at the trunk and neck. The findings showed that drop landing affect trunk and neck with lower extremity joints. Therefore, we need to consider that trunk and neck strengthening including stability should be added to reduce sports injury during prevention training.

부상화염에서 화염전파속도에 따른 스칼라소산율과 곡률반경에 대한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Study for the Scalar Dissipation Rate and the Flame Curvature with Flame Propagation Velocity in a Lifted Flame)

  • 삼지화염의 화염안정화 메커니즘 중 중요한 한 가지는 화염전파속도이다. 화염전파속도의 정량적인 규명을 위해 Bilger는 층류 유동이론에 근거하여 혼합분율 기울기에 비선형적으로 연관된 삼지화염전파속도를 제시하였다. 그러나 지금까지의 연구에서는 화염의 곡률 반경과 스칼라소산율에 따른 삼지화염 전파속도에 관하여 논의된 바가 없으며, 본 논문에서는 수치해석을 통해 화염전파속도에 따른 화염의 곡률반경과 스칼라소산율의 관계를 살펴보았다. 본 논문의 결과로 연료의 노즐 출구속도에 따라 화염전파속도가 거의 선형적으로 변화됨을 알 수 있었다. 또 화염전파속도에 따라 스칼라소산율은 비선형적인 감소를 보였으며, 곡률반경은 거의 선형적인 변화를 보임을 알 수 있었다. 또 스칼라소산율에 따른 곡률 반경의 경우 비선형적인 감소를 보였다. 따라서 화염전파속도와 스칼라소산율 및 화염의 곡률반경 사이에 직접적인 연관성이 있는 것을 확인하였다.

회전하는 원형단면 실린더 주위의 저 레이놀즈수 난류유동에 대한 직접수치모사 (Direct Numerical Simulation of Turbulent new Around a Rotating Circular Cylinder at Low Reynolds Number)

  • Turbulent flow around a rotating circular cylinder is investigated by Direct Numerical Simulation. The calculation is performed at three cases of low Reynolds number, Re=161, 348 and 623, based on the cylinder radius and friction velocity. Statistically strong similarities with fully developed channel flow are observed. Instantaneous flow visualization reveals that the turbulence length scale typically decreases as Reynolds number increases. Some insight into the spacial characteristics in conjunction with wave number is provided by wavelet analysis. The budget of dissipation rate as well as turbulent kinetic energy is computed and particular attention is given to the comparison with plane channel flow.

가변댐퍼식 궤도차량용 현수장치의 성능에 관한 연구 (A study on the performance of variable damper type suspension for tracked vehicle)

  • The feasibility of using fluidic components for improving certain performance characteristics of the suspension systems for tracked vehicle is investigated. This study describes three variable damping systems for which the damping coefficients are function of relative velocity and absolute a of the vehicle body. Through the comparison analysis between constant damping coefficient damper and each of variable dampers. the followings were found: (1)Fluidic Diode Damper gave less accelerations, (2)Both Fluidic Diode Damper and Relative Velocity Damper gave the less time for which the wheel is off the ground, (3) At low vehicle velocity Fluidic Diode Damper gave low energy dissipation rate, while at high vehicle velocity Turbulence Accelerometer Damper gave low energy dissipation rate.

하계 동중국해 북부 해역에서의 해수 혼합 (Mixing of Sea Waters in the Northern Part of the East China Sea in Summer)

  • 하계 동중국해 북부 대륙붕 해역에서 해수 혼합을 연구하기 위하여 2005년 8월과 2006년 8월에 한국해양연구원 연구선 이어도호를 이용하여 해수 물성 및 난류 관측을 수행하였다. 유속 변형으로부터 산출한 난류운동에너지 소산율은 표층에서 $10^{-7}{\sim}10^{-4}$, 저층에서 $10^{-7}{\sim}10^{-6}$와 수온약층에서 $10^{-7}$ W/kg의 높은 값이 나타났다. 관측 자료는 표층의 경우 바람에 의해 지속적으로 혼합이 이루어짐을 보여주었다. 수온약층 하부에서의 높은 소산율은 내부파의 영향으로 판단된다. 저층의 높은 소산율은 저층의 탁도 분포의 경향과 일치하여 조류에 의한 해저면층 교란의 결과임을 시사해주었다. 바닥에서의 연직확산계수는 낮은 안정도와 높은 난류상태의 복합적인 영향으로 $10^{-3}{\sim}10^{-2}m^2/s$로 높은 값이 나타났다.

  • 본 논문에서는 입자가 부상된 2상유동의 해석에서 여러유동조건의 유동을 공 통적으로 해석할 수 있고 또 유동의 난류구조를 규명할 수 있도록 하기 위해서 2-방정 식 난류모델을 적용하였고 또 지배방정식들 속에 나타나는 1유체와 2유체의 2차 상관 관계들을 모형화 할 때 Taweel and Landau의 스펙트럼 이론을 확장발전시켜 적용하였 다.
