의과대학생의 정서지능이 공감에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Emotional Intelligence on Empathy in Medical Students)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of subscales of emotional intelligence on empathy in first-year medical students. Methods : A total of 215 first-year medical students were eligible for this study. Demographic factors (age, sex, and medical school entrance type) and measures for emotional intelligence and empathy, such as the Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale and the Interpersonal Reactivity Index, were included in the survey. The relationship between emotional intelligence and empathy was analyzed by multiple linear regression, adjusting for age, sex, and entrance type. Results : The female students' level of emotional intelligence was higher than the male students for the self-emotional appraisal (p=0.029) and others' emotional appraisal (p=0.006) subscales. Meanwhile, the graduate-entry students scored higher for the use of emotion (p<0.001) and regulation of emotion (p=0.010) subscales than the direct-entry students. For empathy, the female students revealed a higher score in empathic concern (p=0.009) than the male students, and graduate-entry students scored higher than the direct-entry students in perspective taking (p=0.004) and empathic concern (p<0.001). The multiple linear regression analysis has identified significant influences of subscales of emotional intelligence on empathy: others' emotional appraisal on perspective taking (p<0.001), self-emotional appraisal (p=0.035) and regulation of emotion (p=0.023) on fantasy, others' emotional appraisal (p<0.001) and use of emotion (p=0.020) on empathic concern, and self-emotional appraisal (p=0.033) and regulation of emotion (p<0.001) on personal distress. Conclusion : This study's findings suggest that emotional intelligence may affect empathy in medical students, which can have implications for developing educational strategies to enhance empathetic attitudes in medical students.

아버지의 창의적 가정환경과 유아의 창의적 인성 간의 관계에서 정서지능의 매개효과 (The mediating effect of their emotional intelligence on the relationship between creative home environment of fathers and creative personality of young children)

  • 본 연구에서는 아버지의 창의적 가정환경과 유아의 창의적 인성의 관계에서 그들의 정서지능의 매개효과를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구대상은 부산에 위치한 6곳의 어린이집에 재학 중인 유아들로, 4세 85명(남아 45명, 여아 40명), 5세 140명(남아 69명, 여아 71명), 전체 225명이었다. 연구결과 첫째, 아버지의 창의적 가정환경은 유아의 창의적 인성과 유의한 정적 상관을 보였으며, 유아의 정서지능은 창의적 인성과 유의한 정적상관을 보였다. 둘째, 아버지의 창의적 가정환경과 유아의 창의적 인성간의 관계에서 그들의 정서지능은 부분매개효과가 있었으며, 간접효과를 보였다. 따라서 유아의 창의적 인성을 예측하는 변인으로 유아기 아버지의 창의적 가정환경이 중요한 변인으로 작용하며, 이때 유아의 정서지능은 아버지의 창의적 가정환경의 영향력을 완화할 수 있는 요인으로 작용한다.

간호사의 감성지능이 자기효능감과 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향 - 자기효능감의 매개효과 검증 - (The Effect of Emotional Intelligence on Self-Efficacy and Job Stress of Nurses - Mediating Role of Self-Efficacy -)

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the relationship among emotional intelligence, self-efficacy and job stress of nurses. Method: Data was collected from convenient sample of 265 nurses who work for a university hospital in a city. The Questionnaire measured the level of emotional intelligence, self-efficacy and job stress of nurses. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, scheffe' test, pearson's correlation coefficient and hierarchical multiple regression. Result: The mean score of emotional intelligence was 3.41(${\pm}.37$), self-efficacy was 3.27(${\pm}.45$) and job stress was 3.35(${\pm}.65$). There were significant differences on self-efficacy according to age, marital status and education level. And there were significant differences on job stress according to age, working unit. It was a significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence and self-efficacy. The emotional intelligence and self-efficacy were significantly negative correlation with job stress. The emotional intelligence explained 24.8% of self-efficacy and 1.9% of job stress and self-efficacy explained 2.7% of job stress. And the self-efficacy was showed a mediate variable between emotional intelligence and job stress. Conclusion: To decrease job stress, nursing managers ought to develop the emotional intelligence and self-efficacy of nurses, reinforce as a mediating role between emotional intelligence and job stress

유아가 지각한 교사-유아관계의 친밀감이 또래수용에 미치는 영향 : 유아의 정서지능의 매개효과 (The Effects of Teacher-child Intimacy Perceived by Children on Peer Acceptance : Mediating Effect of Children's Emotional Intelligence)

  • Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of children's emotional intelligence on teacher-child intimacy perceived by children and peer acceptance. Methods: The participants were 134 five-year-old children(71 boys, 63 girls) attending daycare centers and kindergarten in Seoul and Gyeong-nam province. Children were interviewed to measure teacher-child intimacy and peer acceptance. Teachers completed rating scales to measure children's emotional intelligence. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, three step mediated regression analysis and a Sobel test. Results: The main results are as follows. first, there were significant positive correlations of teacher-child intimacy, emotional intelligence, and children's peer acceptance. Second, children's emotional intelligence had a partial mediating effect on teacher-child intimacy and peer acceptance. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study demonstrates links between early teacher-child relationships and children's emotional and social development. In order to promote children's peer acceptance, it is necessary to build an intimate teacher-child relationship and to improve children's emotional intelligence based on that relationship.

예비 영·유아교사들의 교육헌신에 영향을 미치는 요인분석 - 교육실습, 교사 효능감, 정서지능을 중심으로 - (An Analysis of Factors Influencing Preservice Early Childhood Teachers' Education Commitment - Focusing on Education Practicum, Teacher Efficacy, Emotional Intelligence -)

  • 본 연구는 예비 영·유아교사들의 교육실습, 교사 효능감, 정서지능이 교육헌신에 미치는 영향을 살펴 보고 이들 간의 관계를 밝혀보는 다각적인 분석을 통해 예비 영·유아교사들의 교육헌신 태도를 함양시키고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2018년도 11월 1일부터 2019년도 3월까지 수도권 전문대학의 예비 영·유아교사 75명을 대상으로 150개의 설문을 배부하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 PASS Statistics 18.0 프로그램을 사용하여 통계처리하였으며 각 요인들이 교육헌신에 주는 영향력과 영향관계를 밝히기 위해 상관분석 및 다중회귀 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 예비 영·유아교사들의 교육헌신은 교사효능감, 정서지능, 실습경험들과 정적상관을 보였으며, 실습경험 전이나 실습경험 후에도 교육헌신은 교사효능감이나 정서지능과 정적 상관관계를 보이고 있었다. 둘째, 예비영유아교사의 경우 교육실습경험 전에는 정서지능이 높아지면 교육 헌신이 높아지는 것으로 나타났으며 교육실습의 경험을 쌓은 이후에는 교사효능감이 높아지면 교육헌신이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 예비 영·유아교사들의 교육헌신을 높이기 위해서 교육실습전에는 정서지능 역량을 강화할 수 있는 프로그램이나 내용교육이 효과적이고, 교육 실습 이후에는 교사 효능감 역량을 강화할 수 있는 프로그램이나 내용교육이 보다 효과적임을 시사하고 있다.

또래 배척과 관련된 유아의 정서지능과 어머니의 양육행동 (Maternal Parenting Behaviors and Preschooler's Exclusion by Peers: Mediated by Preschooler's Emotional Intelligence)

  • This study explored mediating effects of the preschooler's emotional intelligence between maternal parenting behaviors and exclusion by peers. Subjects were 138 4- to 5-year-old preschoolers(92 boys, 46 girls) and their mothers. Exclusion by peers was measured by the Child Behavior Scale(Ladd & Profilet, 1996), maternal parenting behaviors were measured by the Parenting Questionnaire(Park, 1999), and preschooler's emotional intelligence was measured by the Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire(Lee, 1998). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. Results showed that preschooler's emotional self-awareness mediated the effects of both maternal sensitive behaviors and maternal hostile/refusal behaviors on preschooler's exclusion by peers.

영아보육교사의 정서지능과 어린이집 조직문화가 역할수행에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Infant Care Teacher's Emotional Intelligence and Organizational Culture on Role Performance)

  • 본 연구는 영아보육교사의 역할수행에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 변인들을 파악함으로써 양질의 보육서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 도움을 주고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 서울, 인천, 경기 지역 어린이집에 근무하는 영아보육교사 350명을 대상으로 하였으며, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영아보육교사의 사회인구학적 변인에 따라 교사의 정서지능, 어린이집 조직문화, 역할수행에 차이가 있는지를 알아본 결과, 학력에서는 역할수행 하위요인인 '상담 및 정서적 지원'에서 차이가 나타났으며, 경력에서는 역할수행 하위요인인 '교육 및 교수활동'과 '관련적 역할'에서 차이가 나타났다. 또한 근무시설유형에서는 정서지능과 어린이집 조직문화에서 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 영아보육교사의 정서지능, 어린이집 조직문화는 영아보육교사의 역할수행과 상관관계가 나타났다. 셋째, 영아보육교사의 역할수행 전체에 미치는 영향력을 살펴본 결과, 정서지능, 어린이집 조직문화, 경력 순으로 나타났다.

간호대학생의 대학생활 적응 영향요인 (Factors Influencing the Adaptation to the College Life of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the degree of undergraduate nursing student adaptation to college life and investigate the factors that influenced that adaptation. Methods: First-year (undergraduate) students attending three nursing colleges were surveyed from November 24 through December 5, 2014; and data from 206 respondents were analyzed. For data analysis, multiple regression analysis was performed using the SPSS WIN 18.0 program. Results: The findings showed that age (p=.002), emotional intelligence (p<.001), and self-efficacy (p<.001) were significant variables that influenced first-year undergraduate nursing student adaptation to college life. Undergraduate nursing student adaptation was explained by self-efficacy (${\beta}=.327$, p<.001), emotional intelligence (${\beta}=.222$, p=.001), satisfaction with education in their academic major (${\beta}=-.217$, p<.001), and academic achievement (${\beta}=.136$, p=.018); and, the explanatory power of these variables was 41.2%. Conclusion: To facilitate undergraduate nursing student adaptation to college life prior to clinical practice, developing and apply programs to improve self-efficacy, emotional intelligence, satisfaction with education in their major, and academic achievement is deemed necessary.

과학기반 심화융합영재 프로그램이 초등 과학영재의 창의적 사고활동과 정서지능에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Science based Enrichment STEAM Gifted Program on Creative Thinking Activities and Emotional Intelligence of Elementary Science Gifted Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of science based enrichment STEAM gifted program on the creative thinking activities and emotional intelligence of elementary science gifted students. The study subjects were two science gifted classes of the 5th grade of local Office of Education in B Metropolitan City. One class including 20 students was experimental group and the other including 20 students was comparison group. For the purpose of study, the lesson unit 'The world of light through science' was practised, the science based enrichment STEAM gifted program was applied to experimental group, whereas comparison group was taught traditional gifted lesson. The results of this study were as follows. First, science based enrichment STEAM gifted program influenced significantly the improvement of the creative thinking activities of elementary science gifted students. Second, science based enrichment STEAM gifted program was showed to enhance the emotional intelligence of elementary science gifted students significantly.

간호사의 직무 배태성, 감성지능, 사회적지지, 이직의도 간의 구조적 관계 (Structural Relationships among Job Embeddedness, Emotional Intelligence, Social Support and Turnover Intention of Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was done to elicit basic data for effective human resource management by identifying the relationships among job embeddedness, emotional intelligence, social support, and the turnover intention of Nurses. Methods: Research design was to build a hypothetical causal model between variables and to verify its fitness. The sample for this study was 283 nurses with careers of more than 6 months in one hospital of more than 800 beds located in Seoul. They agreed in writing and this study was approved by the Institutional Review Board. Data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 program. Results: Differences in general characteristics for the variables were significant for age, marital status, education, work experience, job title, income, and department. Job embeddedness, emotional intelligence and social support were significantly correlated to turnover intention. Job embeddedness to emotional intelligence and social support showed positive effects and a negative effect to turnover intention. Emotional intelligence to turnover intention showed a positive effect, but social support was not significant. Conclusion: Organizations should provide ways to minimize voluntary turnover of a competent workforce and demonstrate their competency. Also it should develop training and management programs to effectively utilize emotional intelligence.
