Today's gifted students will be tomorrow's leaders in goverment, economies, technology, sciences, and all other areas of human endeavor. these students have a right to partcipate in school programs that will help them reach their special potentions. The school have on obligation to provide flexible and effective programs for gifted. In this study is to know in broad generalities for identifying methods mathematics gifted, the instructional environment, teaching methods in the regular classroom, enrichment program contents, evaluating student and program contents.
The purpose of this study is to statistically analyze the correlation between CS Unplugged education and the computational thinking of gifted and talented students. In this study, qualitative research was conducted for 17 students in 5th grade gifted class at an elementary school in the city of Yongin. Students participated in 10 hours of CS unplugged classes. Student questionnaire, class journals, student activity sheets, and student interview records were collected and qualitatively analyzed. In order to supplement the qualitative data, computational thinking ability tests were also administered. The results of the study are as follows. First, CS unplugged education plays an effective role in improving CT of gifted and talented students. Second, it was not every sub-area of CT that CS unplugged education brought statistically significant improvements in. Third, CS unplugged education is suitable to be presented as the first step of the SW curriculum for gifted and talented students.
This study developed a field trip program called "Planning a science exhibition" and explored elementary science-gifted students' perceptions of the program and learning experiences influencing them. To this end, 56 elementary science-gifted students in grades 4-6 from in an university-affiliated science-gifted education institute in metropolitan area were selected to participate in the field trip program. After the program, the students answered a survey regarding their perceptions of the program. Additionally, 19 students were selected for group interviews to further explore their survey responses. Results showed that many elementary science-gifted students perceived the program positively in various cognitive and affective aspects. Some students also pointed out certain limitations of the program. Five interconnected learning experiences were identified as influencing the students' perceptions: "experiences fostering creativity", "non-residential camp-type project-based learning experiences", "self-directed learning experiences", "experiences utilizing digital devices", and "collaborative experiences". Educational implications regarding these results were discussed.
The purpose of this study was to develop science and art integrated program to improve the creativity of scientifically gifted elementary school students. This study was to develop science and art integrated program to enhance the creativity of these subjects. This program was consisted of 30 lessons covering 10 topics. It was developed of five stages including the observation stage reflecting the characteristics of the right hemisphere relevant to creativity, the interest and curiosity stage, the experiment design and performing stage, the internalization stage, and the stage of expressing arts. This program was applied to 20 senior gifted students in Y Elementary School in Gyeonggi province. Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking(TTCT) was used in order to investigate and measure the effectiveness of the program before and after its use in class. The results of this study are as follows: First, this program showed results of significant improvement of creativity of scientifically gifted elementary school students after its use in class(p<.05). Second, it was significantly effective in increasing their creativity, especially in the subdomains such as originality, abstractness of title, and territory of resistance on hasty conclusions after its use in class(p<.05). Third, it was significantly effective to increase the Creativity Index that represents creative potential(p<.01). In particular, emotional expression, internalized visualization, unique visualization, and richness of the imagery emerged. This study implies that the science and art integrated program was closely related to the right hemisphere of the features enabling the subjects to create new ideas, new things, and new reactions. In addition, this program is expected to contribute to activate the brain areas of creativity for gifted students in the science field.
The purpose of this study was to analyze successful intelligence and learning strategies for the scientific gifted and the general students in elementary school. For this purpose, we conducted a survey targeting 327(including 159 gifted students) 5th - 6th grader elementary students in Incheon Metropolitan City. We were utilized to evaluate the students' successful intelligence(Song, 2002) and learning strategies(Kim, 2005). The results of this study were as follows. First, successful intelligence and learning strategies of the scientific gifted students in elementary school were higher than the regular class students, it was a significant difference statistically(p < .001). Second, when compared according to grade level, the scientific gifted students class higher than the general class students, it was a significant difference statistically(p < .001). Third, when compared according to gender, the scientific gifted students were higher than the general class in both men and women, it was a significant difference statistically(p < .001)
This study compared science academic passion between elementary general and science-gifted students. A science academic passion test was conducted for fifth-sixth graders at an elementary school, and two gifted science education institutes in Seoul, with 95 and 92 students selected for the test. The result analysis revealed that the science-gifted students' science intellectual passion was significantly higher than general students, regardless of grade and gender. Also, the scores of general students were high in the order of "harmonious passion," "importance," "like," "time/energy investment," and "obsessive passion." The differences in scores between all sub-domains were statistically substantial. Moreover, there were no considerable differences in scores of the science-gifted students among the "important," "like," and "harmonious passion." However, the scores in these three domains were higher than that of "time/energy investment" and "obsessive passion." In addition, the "time/energy investment" score was higher than that of "obsessive passion." The differences in science academic passion by grade and gender were not statistically significant regardless of whether or not a student was science gifted. These results suggest that science academic passion characterizes science-gifted students rather than personal characteristics such as grade or gender.
The purpose of this study was to develop a comprehensive model to identify underachieved gifted children in elementary schools by utilizing multiple methods. From March 1st, 2006 through September 30th, 2006, we developed and applied a 6-step comprehensive identification model for underachieved gifted children by examining 1980 children attending S elementary school located in Daegu Metropolitan City, starting from the first step of teacher nomination to the last step of committee's final decision. As a result, 4 students were identified as underachieved gifted children. For comprehensive and appropriate identification, we adopted, adjusted, or developed several standardized tests, teacher nomination form, parental questionnaire, self-report checklist, and school achievement tests, which were fine-tuned in the application process of this identification model. Based on this study, we suggest that a comprehensive identification model for underachieved gifted children in public elementary schools consist of 6 steps: a) teacher nomination, b) simplified standardized testing, c) student's self-report, d) multiple standardized tests, e) qualitative analysis, and f) a committee decision for the final identification.
This study investigated the effect of team project activity for game making on the elementary mathematically gifted students' community care and organizational management capacity. 7 mathematically gifted students of 4th grade are selected and participated. After 15 hours activities during 2 months of team project on game making, their community care and organizational management capacity were improved. This results suggested that leadership education is possible in mathematics curriculum for mathematics gifted students.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of developing and applying a program in the field of astronomy that can improve the spatial perception ability and task commitment of elementary science gifted students. The subjects of this study were 22 students in the advanced course in the elementary science gifted class affiliated with the Gifted and Talented Center of University B. In order to improve spatial perception ability and task attachment to students in elementary school science gifted class, a total of 12 educational learning programs were developed and applied. The results of this study were interpreted as quantitative analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, the astronomy class had a positive effect on the spatial perception ability improvement of elementary science gifted students. Second, the astronomy class had a positive effect on improving the task commitment of elementary school science gifted students. Third, astronomy class of elementary school science gifted students was more effective in improving spatial perception than improving task commitment. Since elementary school science gifted students are selected with excellent intelligence, creativity, and task commitment, an Individualized Education Program (IEP) is developed and applied to better express their potential giftedness. In addition, in order to express more in-depth giftedness in gifted education, it is necessary to pay attention to the development of programs that can express individual gifted characteristics.
The purpose of this study was to develop and apply a differentiated instruction-learning reflecting various characteristics and demands of the gifted underachievers, and thereby help to develop the study attitude and study achievement of the gifted underachievers. To achieve the purpose, a case study on five gifted underachievers who are in $6^{th}$ grade of elementary school was conducted. By collecting and analyzing a variety of data including standardized tests, interviews with teachers, students, and parents, and observation journals, this researcher examined the characteristics and demands of the gifted underachievers. For the development of the program, differentiated strategies were designed according to students' interest and concern, their multiple-intelligence, and their learning styles. As a result of the application of them, a program with a total of 20 sections was finally developed. The result of the application for the differentiated instruction-learning program revealed improvements in their academic achievements. In addition, it was found that their learning motives were improved. The program was also found to affect their self-concept and their attitude toward learning. The study showed that developing an education program for the gifted underachievers should begin from the analysis of each student's characteristics. Also, it was found that a differentiation strategy could become an alternative to apply various characteristics and demands of the gifted underachievers to the development of a program. The gifted underachievers' intellectual and definitive characteristics were changed even by the short-term mediation. Therefore, the new issue about educating the gifted is to provide a differentiated instruction-learning program fitting their characteristics and demands and help them exert their potential as best as they could.
