  • Education effect on women's participation in the labor market has been known to be small in Korea. Then, the meaning of women's education as human capital needs to be questioned. Both the increasing desire for working among women and the criticism to under-utilization of women's education in the labor market reflect that women's education is surely perceived as human capital. However, women's education dose not seem to function well as human capital in the labor market. According to previous studies, it is pointed out that educational effect on women's participation in the labor market is weak but the effect on earnings is evident. There were few attempts to evaluate economic returns to women's education over the life-cycle analyzing both working and non-working women. Considering that the economic behaviors of women in nonagricultural sector have changed little until the mid-1980s, I tried to examine the meaning of education as human capital over the women's life cycle using cross - sectional data. This study shows that the educational effect on women's participation in the labor market does not exist and the working period is very short. Although the educational effect on earnings among working women is clearly shown, it tends to limited to younger women. Despite the educational effect on earnings among younger women, the meaning of education as human capital among Korean women does not hold well due to short working period and the low participation of the educated in the labor market.

  • What means the Waldorf school based on integrative imagination to our educational reality in our days? This is the key question in this article. This article seeks to the fundamental meaning of the Waldrof school to know our educational problems. For this purpose this article explore understanding on the theosophy of Rudolf Steiner in the insufficient research until now. The theosophy of Rudolf Steiner in this article is investigated with the understanding of Triune God, human, and educational arts. The understanding of triune God is identified as the critiques to the view point of materialism, the meaning of logos in the scripture of John, the Christ as the foundation of all creatures. The understanding of human being is distinguished as the nature of body, soul, and spirit in the theosophy. Especially the nature of spirit is to see the invisible in the visible things through the eyes of mind that means esoteric spirituality not unrealistic spirituality of monasticism but integrative spirituality of overcoming the dualism between spirit and material. The educational characteristics for the integrative spirituality and imagination is called as the educational arts by Rudolf Steiner. The educational arts includes contents of the soul life, the education of freedom with individuality, and integrative education. The educational arts intends to the wholistic education with harmonious interaction of intellect, feeling, and willing to equip the individual human being in the spirit. And the educational arts educates with the harmony of story, play, art, and integrative curriculum of subject contents. The educational arts is to intend for reformation in christian education including church school and alternative school, etc. The Waldorf school needs to emphasizing the christian spirituality in the educational arts.

  • In this paper, we give descriptions that the choices made in the Knowledge modelling or representation in Computer Evironments can modify the meaning of this knowledge through a process similar to that of the didactical transpostion. Thus, they are likely to have effects on learning. These problems and phenomena are consequences of general constraints of computer and an algorithms built-in computers. Students may not learn the knowledge intended by teacher. Teacher is always on the alert for the changable mathematical knowledge in computer-based environments. It is an important role of teachers in new teaching and learning environment.

  • The main purposes of this study was to develop evaluation model, which provides program educational objectives(PEO) evaluation research with guidances on how to evaluate the program educational objectives and procedures in order to enhance the quality of engineering education. Educational objective evaluation is reciprocal processes that depend on and affect one another. Thus, the evaluation component deals with how to identify members' strengths, weakness, and needs, how to assess and improve the effectiveness of curriculum programs, and how to provide data that assist in decision making. After literature reviews about the case studies on the program educational objectives evaluation, this study, to understand the meaning of education evaluation and the engineering accreditation, and then, examined the evaluation model for program educational objectives. This study suggested evaluation components of program educational objectives. In particular, the distinctions between diagnostic, formative, and summative evaluation are discussed. The result of this study is significant in terms of guiding the future evaluation model development for program educational objectives.

  • Arithmetic is the basis of school mathematics and in fact, number and operation in elementary school curriculum is the most basic and essential domain. Even though there has been a consensus that arithmetic should be taught more meaningfully beyond the emphasis of calculation skills and teachers should emphasize the aspect of the arithmetical thinking, it is difficult to find studies which focus on the arithmetical thinking itself. So this research aims to explore the meaning of the arithmetical thinking and extract the arithmetical thinking factors. In order to solve the research problems, we reviewed and analyzed the literatures and then conducted Delphi survey to extract arithmetical thinking factors. From the results of this research, we found the meaning of arithmetical thinking and the arithmetical thinking factors. Especially, the arithmetical thinking consists of 18 factors. It is important to pay attention to students' arithmetical thinking because there are various factors of the arithmetical thinking. It is necessary to identify the aspects of arithmetical thinking reflected in school mathematics based on the meaning of arithmetical thinking and its factors. Based on this, it is possible to find effective teaching and learning methods of arithmetic focusing on the arithmetical thinking.

  • This study analyzed the concept of equal symbol(=) that is the most symbol used in learning of mathematics and investigated students' understanding of that. The equal symbol is endowed with the 'same', 'equal', and 'equivalent' meaning, represented by =, but students interpret the meaning of equal symbol according to the mathematical con text. Thus, we analyzed the equal symbol on the basis of the theory of conceptual fields. In the theory of conceptual fields, concept is a three-tuple of three sets of situation, operational invariants and symbolic representations, and the operational invariants are the concept-in-action and the theorems- in-action. With the analysis contents, we investigated how students read = by korean, what equals in the expression containing = or by what meaning students used =, and which they could correct the error for =. This study imply that we should consider the symbol notation agreed by mathematical society, the meaning, and the situational context that it used, when we teach the mathematics symbols.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the meaning and essence of nursing students' experience of handwashing education volunteer program. There were 10 students who participated in the handwashing education service, and data collection was conducted for two months from October to November 2021, and three focus groups were formed and interviewed. Data were analyzed by Colaizz's phenomenological research method. As a result of the study, 3 themes and 10 sub-themes were derived. The three themes were 'personal development', 'self-esteem as a pre-nursing nurse', and 'knowing the meaning of service'. Nursing students learned the meaning of service through handwashing education service, and it was found that they could experience their own inner maturity. Nursing students could see that it was a time to learn the true meaning of service through handwashing education volunteering. The results of this study provided an understanding of the educational service of nursing college students, which can be applied to the diversification of educational service programs.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to measure meaning in life of elderly and to delineate basic data for developing nursing strategies for improving the meaning in life of elderly. Method: Subjects were 240 elderly above 65 years old staying in Busan and Kyungnam Province. The data was collected from May to Jun 2004. The instrument was utilizing Elderly Meaning In Life(EMIL) scale developed by Choi et al.(2003). Results: The mean for elderly was 100.4, the range was from 37 to 148. 63.3% of subjects were in existential vacuum. The mean of 1 phase 'acceptance and awareness of self and life' was 36.9, 2 phase 'creative value realization' was 17.8, 3 phase 'experiential value realization' was 2.8, 4 phase 'contentedness of past and present' was 43.7. There were significant differences according to the gender, religion, educational level, spouse, spending money, living arrangement and disease. Conclusion: On the viewpoint of above results, 63.3% of subjects were in level of existential vacuum, which required logotherapy. Therefore it shows that developing nursing-logotherapy to improve the meaning in life for elderly is demanded.
