It is an urgent thing for the universities to secure finance and good students. Because it was thought that to know freshmen's recognition of their choice of colleges would serve to establish the screening system of each university, we studied it through the survey of the freshmen in some universities. We randomly chose some national universities, private universities and educational universities to investigate who are responsible for their choice of colleges. It is shown that the influence of their high school teachers upon their students’ choosing universities is no more than 10%. As a result, the establishment of proper policy of admission to each university on its own that makes use of the characteristics of the region and the university will be effective in choosing good students.

  • Perceived game realism (PGR) has recently emerged as a key concept in explaining the mental processing of digital game playing and the societal impact of digital games. However, few studies have examined its conceptualization and educational effects from an empirical viewpoint, especially in educational games. This study's participants included 292 university students in South Korea. A total of 212 questionnaires were valid and used for the analyses. They learned English expressions using a computer-based educational game and then completed questionnaires on the research variables. We investigated six factors of PGR: simulational realism (SIR), freedom of choice (FRC), perceptual pervasiveness (PEP), social realism (SOR), authenticity (AUT), and character involvement (CAI). We expected the factors to have valid effects on the university students' flow and learning satisfaction after a game-based learning (GBL) experience. Our research results demonstrated a causal relationship between SIR, FRC, CAI, and learning satisfaction. Furthermore, the indirect effects of SIR and CAI on learning satisfaction through flow were statistically significant.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the choice experiences of students majoring in nursing and whose mothers were nurses. Methods: The participants of this study were 12 students, six male and six female. Data were collected via an in-depth personal interview. The collected data were analyzed with Colazzi's phenomenological methodology. Results: A core theme of 'Natural choice as my major' emerged. In addition, we found the following three theme clusters: 1. My choice; 2. Expanding relationship between Mother and I; 3. Journey with mother. Conclusion: The results of this study show that the mothers of nursing students who were nurses themselves were good role models. They could influence their children to choose nursing as a profession. Also, they affected or are affecting their children to be colleagues in the same way. If we could provide good working environments for nurses, the next generation will also choose nursing as a profession and ultimately establish a family line. An educational setting is required to provide better professional nursing conditions for the next generation.
