Steel-concrete-steel (SCS) sandwich structures have important advantages over conventional concrete structures, however, bond-slip between the steel plate and concrete may lead to a loss of composite action, resulting in a reduction of stiffness and fatigue life of SCS sandwich structures. Due to the inaccessibility and invisibility of the interface, the interfacial performance monitoring and debonding detection using traditional measurement methods, such as relative displacement between the steel plate and core concrete, have proved challenging. In this work, two methods using piezoelectric transducers are proposed to detect the bond-slip between steel plate and core concrete during the test of the beam. The first one is acoustic emission (AE) method, which can detect the dynamic process of bond-slip. AE signals can be detected when initial micro cracks form and indicate the damage severity, types and locations. The second is electromechanical impedance (EMI) method, which can be used to evaluate the damage due to bond-slip through comparing with the reference data in static state, even if the bond-slip is invisible and suspends. In this work, the experiment is implemented to demonstrate the bond-slip monitoring using above methods. Experimental results and further analysis show the validity and unique advantage of the proposed methods.

This research proposes a high-frequency circuit that can accurately predict the differential mode noise of single-phase inverters at the circuit design stage. Proposed single-phase inverter high frequency circuit in the work is a form in which harmonic impedance components are added to the basic single-phase inverter circuit configuration. For accurate noise prediction, parasitic components present in each part of the differential noise path were extracted. Impedance was extracted using a network analyzer and Q3D in the measurement range of 150 kHz to 30 MHz. A high-frequency circuit model was completed by applying the measured values. Simulations and experiments were conducted to confirm the validity of the high-frequency circuit. As a result, we were able to predict the resonance point of the differential mode voltage extracted as an experimental value with a high-frequency circuit model within an approximately 10% error. Through this outcome, we could verify that differential mode noise can be accurately predicted using the proposed model of the high-frequency circuit without a separate test bench for noise measurement.

Shear horizontal (SH) waves propagate as a type of plate wave in a thin sheet. The dispersion characteristics of SH waves can be used for signal analysis. Therefore, SH-waves are useful for monitoring the structural health of a thin-sheet-structure. An electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT), which is a non-contact ultrasonic transducer, can generate SH-waves easily by varying the shape and array of magnets and coils. Therefore, an EMAT can be applied to an automated ultrasonic testing system for structural health monitoring. When used as a sensor, however, the EMAT has a weakness in that electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise can occur easily in the automated system because of motors and electric devices. Alternatively, a fiber optic sensor works well in the same environment with EMI noise because it uses a light signal instead of an electric signal. In this paper, a fiber Fabry-P$\acute{e}$rot interferometer (FFPI) was proposed as a sensor to receive the SH-waves generated by an EMAT. A simple test was performed to verify the performance of the FFPI sensor. It is thus shown that the FFPI can receive SH-wave signals clearly.

This paper presents an AC-DC power module design and evaluates its efficiency and reliability when used for electronics appliances. This power module consists of a PWM control IC, power MOSFETs, a transformer and several passive devices. The module was tested at an input voltage of 220V (RMS) (frequency 60 Hz). A test was conducted in order to evaluate the operation and power efficiency of the module, as well as the reliability of its protection functions, such as its over-current protection (OVP), overvoltage protection (OVP) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) properties. Especially, we evaluated the thermal shut-down protection (TSP) function in order to assure the operation of the module under high temperature conditions. The efficiency and reliability measurement results showed that at an output voltage of 5 V, the module had a ripple voltage of 200 mV, power efficiency of 73 % and maximum temperature of $80^{\circ}C$ and it had the ability to withstand a stimulus of high input voltage of 4.2 kV during 60 seconds.

A one-chip DC-DC converter circuit for OLED(Organic Light-Emitting Diode) display module of automotive clusters is newly proposed. OLED panel driving voltage circuit, which is a charge-pump type, has improved characteristics in miniaturization, low cost and EMI(Electro-Magnetic Interference) compared with DC-DC converter of PWM(Pulse Width Modulator) type. By using bulk-potential biasing circuit, charge loss due to parasitic PNP BJT formed in charge pumping, is prevented. In addition, the current dissipation in start-up circuit of band-gap reference voltage generator is reduced by 42% and the layout area of ring oscillator is reduced by using a logic voltage VLP in ring oscillator circuit using VDD supply voltage. The driving current of VDD, OLED driving voltage, is over 40mA, which is required in OLED panels. The test chip is being manufactured using $0.25{\mu}m$ high-voltage process and the layout area is $477{\mu}m{\times}653{\mu}m$.

Recently, the accidents on the sea have arisen due to the increase of the nautical traffic and the digitization of equipments for marine. Therefore, IMO(International Maritime Organization) have provided the recommendation of EMI and EMS for radio communication and equipments of marine from SOLAS convention at July 1st 2002. In this paper, we measured EMC environment on the Hanbada, which is Korea Maritime University training ship, for basic EMC environment of ship. The measuring point was Bridge and Engine Control Room of the ship, we measured at the test point that was set at random. Measured Band is from 30 MHz to 2 GHz, polarization measurement is processed both vertical and horizontal polarization. We analysed the results in consideration of permissible criteria.

In this study, we propose a method of suppressing the leakage noise signal of motor assembly through the test. The motor assembly is mounted on outside of the aircraft to rotate an antenna and must satisfy RE102 requirement on MIL-STD-461F in terms of electromagnetic interference. It is confirmed by RE102 test result hat the leakage noise signal of the equipment occurs due to external influx through the power and control cable and rotation of the motor. And it is ascertained that the part where internal/external physical shielding is difficult to rotate is the leakage path. To reduce the leakage noise signal, the electrical ground reinforcement and the electric shielding structure considering the operation of the equipment is applied and it is verified that the requirement is satisfied. Finally, we verified that required specification are met by applying circular corrugated choke with interlocking shapes and conductive grease to the noise leakage path.

In this paper, we developed a miniaturized real time video compression system satisfying the military environment using ADV212 and FPGA. We present an efficient hardware design scheme for the weight reduction of the device and also a software solution to deal with noisy image signals. Experimental results show that the frame delay is reduced by a factor of 2 or 3 and the device's weight is decreased by a factor of 6 to 7. In order to prove the reliability for the military usage of this development, we examine the environmental test (MIL-STD-810G) and EMI test (MIL-STD-461F). Experimental results show that the developed system satisfies the requirements.

As the complexity of an electronic device and the reduction of its operating voltage is progressing, susceptibility test of the chip and module for internal or external noises is essential. Although the immunity compliance of the chip was served with IEC 62132-4 Direct Power Injection method as an industry standard, in fact, EM immunity of the chip is influenced by their Power Domain Network (PDN). This paper evaluates the EM noise tolerance of a PLL and compares their noise transfer characteristics to the PLL on various PCB boards. To make differences of the PDNs of PCBs, various PCBs with or without LDO and with several types of capacitors are tested. For evaluation of discrepancies between EM characteristics of an IC only and the IC on real boards, the analysis of the noise transfer characteristics according to the PDNs shows that it gives important information for the design having robust EM characteristics. DPI measurement results show that greatly improved immunity of the PLL in the low-frequency region according to using the LDO and a frequency change of the PLL according to the DPI could also check with TEM cell measurement spectrum.
