The low frequency noise in Silicon Nanowire Field Effect Transistors is analyzed by characterizing the gate electrode dependence on various geometrical parameters. It shows that gate electrodes have a strong impact in the flicker noise of Silicon Nanowire Field effect transistors. Optimization of gate electrode was done by comparing different performance metrics such a DIBL, SS, $I_{on}/I_{off}$ and fringing capacitance using TCAD simulations. Molybdenum based gate electrode showed significant improvement in terms of high drive current, Low DIBL and high $I_{on}/I_{off}$. The noise power sepctral density is reduced by characterizing the device at higher frequencies. Silicon Nanowire with Si3N4 spacer decreases the drain current spectral density which interms reduces the fringing fields there by decreasing the flicker noise.
This paper presents a novel defected ground structure (DGS) and its application to a microwave oscillator. The presented oscillator is designed so as to use the suggested defected ground structure as a feedback loop inducing a negative resistance as well as a frequency-selective circuit. Applying the feedback loop between the drain and the gate of a FET device produces precise phase conversion in the feedback loop. The equivalent circuit parameters of the DGS are extracted by using a three-dimensional EM calculations and simple circuit analysis method. The implemented 1.07 GHz oscillator exhibits 0 dBm output power with over 15% dc-to-RF power efficiency and -106 dBc/Hz phase noise at 100 kHz offset from carrier.
In this paper, an analytical model for Surrounding Gate (SG) metal-oxide- semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs) considering quantum effects is presented. To achieve this goal, we have used variational approach for solving the Poission and Schrodinger equations. This model is developed to provide an analytical expression for inversion charge distribution function for all regions of device operation. This expression is used to calculate the other important parameters like inversion charge density, threshold voltage, drain current and gate capacitance. The calculated expressions for the above parameters are simple and accurate. This paper also focuses on the gate tunneling issue associated with high dielectric constant. The validity of this model was checked for the devices with different dimensions and bias voltages. The calculated results are compared with the simulation results and they show good agreement.

The double gate(DG) MOSFET is a promising candidate to further extend the CMOS scaling and provide better control of short channel effect(SCE). DGMOSFETs, having ultra thin undoped Si channel for SCEs control, ale being validated for sub-20nm scaling. A novel analytical transport model for the subthreshold mode of DGMOSFETs is proposed in this paper. The model enables analysis of short channel effect such as the subthreshold swing(SS), the threshold voltage roil-off$({\Delta}V_{th})$ and the drain induced barrier lowering(DIBL). The proposed model includes the effects of thermionic emission and quantum tunneling of carriers through the source-drain barrier. An approximative solution of the 2D Poisson equation is used for the distribution of electric potential, and Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin approximation is used for the tunneling probability. The new model is used to investigate the subthreshold characteristics of a double gate MOSFET having the gate length in the nanometer range $(5-20{\sim}nm)$ with ultra thin gate oxide and channel thickness. The model is verified by comparing the subthreshold swing and the threshold voltage roll-off with 2D numerical simulations. The proposed model is used to design contours for gate length, channel thickness, and gate oxide thickness.

We studied possibility of mixing treatment of livestock wastewater and sewage using Phanerochaete chrysosporium PSBL-1. Our study showed that 97.6% of SS and 95% of T-P removal efficiency was achieved when 2 mL BF02(a coagulant) and 100 mL C-210EL(a cationic polymer) were added to the mixture(2:1, v/v) of livestock wastewater and sewage. We studied treatment characteristic of Phanerochaete chrysosporium PSBL-1, after were mixed pretreated wastewater and sewage by dillution ten times about livestock wastewater. The removal efficiency of NBDCOD(non-biodegradable COD), $NH_3-N$ and T-N was increased according to increase of pH. That is, T-N concentration of effluent was satisfied 60 mg/L by drain water waterqulity standard of livestock wastewater public treatment facilities with 35 mg/L from a lapse of five days at pH 6.7, 51 mg/L from a lapse of three days at pH 8 and 33 mg/L from a lapse of one day at pH 10. Moreover $COD_{Mn}$ concentration of effluent was satisfied 40 mg/L by drain water waterqulity standard of livestock wastewater public treatment facilities after a laps of one day at all pH. Organics and nitrogen concentrations of effluent were higher case with addition of V.A.(veratryl alcohol) than case without addition of V.A.(veratryl alcohol). $COD_{Mn}$ concentration of effluent satisfied drain water qulity standard of livestock wastewater public treatment facilities from a lapse of one day, when C/N rate(3:1) of influent was not controled. T-N satisfied that from a lapse of two days, when C/N rate was controled with $4{\sim}6$.
In general, XP-SWMM regards manholes as nodes, so it can not consider local head loss in surcharged manhole depending on shape and size of the manhole. That might be a reason why XP-SWMM underestimates inundated-area compared with reality. Therefore, it is necessary to study how we put the local head loss in surcharged manhole in order to simulate storm drain system with XP-SWMM. In this study, average head loss coefficients at circular and square manhole were estimated as 0.61 and 0.68 respectively through hydraulic experiments with various discharges. The estimated average head loss coefficients were put into XP-SWMM as inflow and outflow energy loss of nodes to simulate inundation area of Gunja basin. Simulated results show that not only overflow discharge amount but inundated-area increased considering the head loss coefficients. Also, inundation area with considering head loss coefficients was matched as much as 58% on real inundation area. That was more than simulated results without considering head loss coefficients as much as 18 %. Considering energy loss in surcharged manholes increases an accuracy of simulation. Therefore, the averaged head loss coefficients of this study could be used to simulate storm drain system. It was expected that the study results will be utilized as basic data for establishing the identification of the inundation risk area.
Field monitoring data for embankments in thirteen road construction sites at coastal area of the Korean Peninsula were analyzed to investigate the characteristics of lateral flow in soft grounds, to which vertical drain methods were applied. First of all, the effect of the embankment scale on the lateral flow was investigated. Thicker soft soils and lager relative embankment scale produced more horizontal displacements in soft grounds. Especially, if thick soft grounds were placed, the relative embankment scale, which was given by the ratio of thickness of soft ground to the bottom width of embankments, became larger and in turn large horizontal displacement was produced. And also higher filling velocity of embankments induced more horizontal displacements in soft grounds. The other major factors affecting the lateral flow in soft ground were the thickness and undrained shear strength of soft grounds, the soil modulus and the stability number. Maximum horizontal displacement was induced by less undrained shear strength and soil modulus of soft grounds. Also more stability numbers produced more maximum horizontal displacements. When the shear deformation does not develop, the stability number was less than 3.0 and the safety factor of bearing was more than 1.7. However, if the stability number was more than 5.14 and the safety factor of bearing was less than 1.0, the unstable shear failure developed in soft ground. 50mm can be recommended as a criterion of the allowable maximum horizontal displacement to prevent the shear deformation in soft ground, while 100mm can be recommended as a criterion of the allowable maximum horizontal displacement to prevent the shear failure in soft ground.
An integrated recirculating aquaculture system suitable to our country's situation was designes and developed, The integrated recirculating aquaculture system consisting of a double drain type rearing tank of the $2.5 m^3$, a sedimentation tank for removal of settleable solids, a floating bead filter for the removal of suspended solids, a foam separator for removal of fine particles and a rotating biological contactor for the nitrification was designed and manufactured. The integrated recirculating aquaculture system was stocked with nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) at $2\%$ rearing density for 2 weeks. Feed coefficient was 1.4 and average daily growth rate was $0.64\%$ in the system for 2 weeks.
Recently, the demand for industrial and residental land are increasing with economic growth, but it is difficult to acquire areas for development with good ground condition. For efficient and balanced development of land, new development projects are being carried out not only the areas with inland but those with the soft ground as well. As soft grounds have complex engineering properties and high variations such as ground subsidence especially when their strength is low and depth is deep, we need to accurately analyze the engineering properties of soft grounds and find general measures for stable and economic design and management. Vertical drain technology is widely used to accelerate the consolidation of soft clay deposits and dredged soil under pre-loading and various types of vertical drain are used with there discharge capacity. Under field conditions, discharge capacity is changed with various reason, such as soil condition, confinement pressure, long-term clogging and folding of vertical drains and so on. Therefore, many researcher and engineer recommend the use of required discharge capacity. In this paper, the experiment study were carried out to obtain the discharge capacity of six different types of vertical drains by utilizing the large-scale model tests and discharge capacity, degree of consolidation with the time elapsed.
Vertical drain has usually been used to accelerate the consolidation of soft clay deposits with high moisture content. Busan thick clay deposits are subjected to artesian pressure from an aquifer in sand and gravel layers. However, effect of artesian pressure existing in drainage-installed soft ground on consolidation behaviors is not well known. This paper investigates the consolidation behavior of drainage-installed soft ground at the Nakdong river estuary with artesian pressure and without artesian pressure. A series of one-dimensional large size column test was carried out to find out the consolidation characteristics of clay. Test results indicated that total settlement of clay with artesian pressure was higher than that without artesian pressure because effective stress decreased due to upward flow. Dissipation rate of excess pore water pressure delayed and excess pore water pressure did not fully dissipate in clay layer with artesian pressure. Undrained shear strength of clay ground with artesian pressure was lower than that without artesian pressure.
