Latent Profile Analysis of High School Students' Fire Safety Awareness

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the types of latent profiles of high school students' fire safety awareness and to identify the characteristics of related variables. For this purpose, a survey was conducted from March 22 to May 25, 2021 for 1054 high school students (male; 569, female; 485) in 3 cities, in Jeollabuk-do. The latent profile was analyzed using a scale consisting of 4 sub-factors: 'fire prevention', 'fire preparedness', 'indirect fire response', and 'direct fire response'. It was checked whether there were differences according to the inter-individual differences of the latent group. As a result of the analysis, fire safety awareness of high school students was classified into three latent profiles. The three groups were named 'High Perception Type', 'Moderate Perception Type', and 'Low Perception Type' according to their types. In fire safety awareness, there is a significant difference in the individual differences according to the gender and academic achievement of the latent profile. These results are meaningful as the first study to analyze the latent profile of high school students' fire safety awareness, and it is also meaningful to provide a useful basis for the contents and methods of customized fire safety education by identifying the tendencies of spontaneous groups and their fire safety awareness.

An iterative approach for time-domain flutter analysis of bridges based on restart technique

  • This paper presents a restart iterative approach for time-domain flutter analysis of long-span bridges using the commercial FE package ANSYS. This approach utilizes the recursive formats of impulse-response-function expressions for bridge's aeroelastic forces. Nonlinear dynamic equilibrium equations are iteratively solved by using the restart technique in ANSYS, which enable the equilibrium state of system to get back to last moment absolutely during iterations. The condition for the onset of flutter instability becomes that, at a certain wind velocity, the amplitude of vibration is invariant with time. A long-span suspension bridge was taken as a numerical example to verify the applicability and accuracy of the proposed method by comparing calculated results with wind tunnel tests. The proposed method enables the bridge designers and engineering practitioners to carry out time-domain flutter analysis of bridges in commercial FE package ANSYS.

메타평가를 이용한 국가기반체계 평가시스템 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Evaluation System of National Infrastructure System using Meta-Evaluation)

  • 연구목적: 본 연구는 국가기반체계 메타평가를 위한 모형을 구축하고 구축된 모형을 이용하여 국가기반체계의 평가시스템 개선을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법: 연구를 위해 재난 관련 법령과 정부에서 발간한 국가기반체계 평가보고서, 국가기반체계 보호계획 수립지침, 메타평가 선행연구자료 등 문헌자료와 국가기반체계 담당공무원, 평가위원, 피평가기관 업무담당자의 의견을 수렴하여 평가실태를 분석하였다. 연구결과: 현행 국가기반체계 평가지표 중 재난대응 교육 훈련계획 및 이행의 적정성, 평가이해관계자와 의사소통, 평가위원 교육시간 등 7개 지표에서 보완 소요가 도출되었다. 결론: 본 연구를 통해 도출된 개선방안을 국가기반체계 평가지표 개선에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

서울시 재난 사례 QRE 평가도구를 활용한 재난 위험도 평가 (Disaster Risk Assessment using QRE Assessment Tool in Disaster Cases in Seoul Metropolitan)

  • 본 연구는 서울시가 관리하는 재난 유형 중에 19개(자연재난 3개, 사회재난 16개)를 선정하여 QRE 평가를 진행하였다. 19개 재난 유형의 선정 기준은 과거에 자주 발생하고, 발생하면 인명과 재산피해를 많이 초래하는 재난 및 미래에 발생 가능성이 큰 재난을 중심으로 선정하였다. 서울시의 재난 유형에 대한 QRE 도구의 결과에 따르면, 가장 위험도가 높은 재난 유형은 "자살 사고" 및 "대기질 악화"로 나타났다. 자살 사고는 발생 위험이 높고 자살자의 경제 및 정신적인 문제 해소 대책 마련이 쉽지 않기 때문이다. 이는 재난 위험 등급 "M6"에 해당된다. 이에 비해 서울시가 관리하는 재난 중 위험도가 낮은 재난 유형은 풍수해, 상수도 누수사고, 수질 오염사고 등으로 분석되었다. 풍수해는 국지성 집중호우, 태풍 등 재난 발생 가능성은 높지만, 서울시는 5년마다 풍수해 저감 종합계획 등을 수립하여 잘 대응하고 있다. 이러한 측면이 재난 예방 대비책이 적절하게 수행되는 것으로 평가되어 재난 위험도가 낮은 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 재난 위험 등급 "VL1"에 해당된다. 끝으로 QRE 도구는 도시의 지도자 및 재난 관리자들에게 재난 발생 위험을 비교적 간단한 방법으로 신속하게 알려줌으로써 의사 결정을 빠르게 할 수 있는 토대를 마련해 준다. 또한 QRE 도구를 활용한 평가는 서울시에 당면한 도시안전 위험도에 대한 복원력의 체계적인 평가, 미래투자 계획에 대한 기초자료, 재난 대응 등 많은 측면에서 도움을 주었다.

우리나라 공업고등학교의 안전 . 보건 교육실태 조사 (A Survey on Safety and Health Education in Technical High Schools in Korea)

  • Safety and health education in technical high schools is especially important because the great majority of the students engage in the industrial field after graduation. But there are few reports on the state. of safety and health education in technical high schools in Korea. The aims of this study were to identify the problems of the present safety and health education in technical high schools in Korea and to propose the ways of improving health and safety education. To conduct this study, the textbooks for health and safety related courses, i.e., Introduction to Industry, Gyoryun(dril), and Physical Education, were reviewed. A questionnaire was mailed to the teachers of Introduction to Industry, Gyoryun, Physical Education, and school nurses in 188 technical high schools and the teachers of Gyoryun, Physical Education, and school nurses in 376 general high schools in November 1997. The final response rates were 42.0% for teachers of Introduction to Industry, 62.9% for teachers of Gyoryun, 47.9% for teachers of Physical Education, and 33.0% for school nurses. Also, a survey by self-administered questionnaire on the knowledge, attitude, and practice about safety and health was conducted from May through July 1998 among 44 employees graduated from technical high schools and 44 employees graduated from general high schools since 1995. The analysis of the textbooks showed that the contents of the ‘Industrial Safety and Environment’ section in Introduction to Industry were rather for safety managers than industrial workers and the contents about occupational hygiene and health were scanty. The majority of ‘Accident and Disaster’ and ‘Hazardous Substances’ section in Gyoryun overlapped with those in Introduction to Industry and several mistakes about health related descriptions were found. Some contents of Physical Education. ‘Mental Health’. ‘Emergency Care’. ‘Communicable Disease’, ‘Noncommunicable Disease’, and ‘Food Hygiene’ overlapped with those of Gyoryun. The teachers lectured safety and health related sections of textbook completely in 84.8% for Introduction to Industry, 62.1% for Gyoryun, 20.8% for Physical Education and the most frequent reason for the incomplete education was shortage of time.

현대사회의 환경변화에 따른 Bio-Terror의 위협요인 연구 (A Study on the Threat of Biological Terrorism in modern society)

  • In recent years, there is growing concern about the potential use of biological agents in war or acts of terrorism accompanied an increased realization that rapid preparedness and response are needed to prevent or treat the human damage that can be caused by these agents. The threat is indeed serious, and the potential for devastating numbers of casualties is high. The use of agents as weapons, even on a small scale, has the potential for huge social and economic disruption and massive diversion of regional and national resources to combat the threat, to treat primary disease, and to clean up environmental contamination. Biological weapons are one of weapons of mass destruction (or mass casualty weapons, to be precise. since they do not damage non-living entities) that are based on bacteria, viruses, rickettsia, fungi or toxins produced by these organisms. Biological weapons are known to be easy and cheap to produce and can be used to selectively target humans, animals, or plants. Theses agents can cause large numbers of casualties with minimal logistical requirements (in wide area). The spread of disease cannot be controlled until there is awareness of the signs of infection followed by identification of agents; and if the organism is easily spread from person to person, as in the case of smallpox, the number of casualties could run into the tens of thousands. Biological weapons could be used covertly, there can be a lot of different deployment scenarios. A lot of different agents could be used in biological weapons. And, there are a lot of different techniques to manufacture biological weapons. Terrorist acts that make use of Biological Agents differ in a number of ways from those involving chemicals. The distinction between terrorist and military use of Biological Weapon is increasingly problematic. The stealthy qualities of biological weapons further complicate the distinction between terrorism and war. In reality, all biological attacks are likely to require an integrated response involving both military and civilian communities. The basic considerations when public health agencies establish national defence plan against bioterrorism must be 1) arraying various laws and regulations to meet the realistic needs, 2)education for public health personnels and support of concerned academic society, 3)information collection and cooperative project with other countries, 4)Detection and surveillance(Early detection is essential for ensuring a prompt response to biological or chemical attack, including the provision of prophylactic medicines, chemical antidotes, or vaccines) and 5) Response(A comprehensive public health response to a biological or chemical terrorist event involves epidemiologic investigation, medical treatment and prophylaxis for affacted persons, and the initiation of disease prevention or environmental decontamination measures). The purpose of this paper is providing basic material of preparedness and response for biological terrorism in modern society.

인천시 UN 국제안전도시 인증을 위한 재난 복원력 스코어카드 평가 (Evaluation of Disaster Resilience Scorecard for the UN International Safety City Certification of Incheon Metropolitan City)

  • 본 연구는 인천시가 국제안전도시 인증을 받는 데 필요한 평가 도구인 'UNDRR의 도시 재난 복원력 스코어카드'를 적용한 사례연구이다. 이 스코어카드 평가를 통해 도출된 결과가 인천시의 재난경감 계획수립에 기여한 사례를 제시하고자 한다. 물론 재난 복원력 스코어카드는 도시가 직면한 모든 재난에 대한 복원력 향상 방안을 제시할 수 있는 것은 아니다. 다만 도시가 직면하고 있는 복원력의 약점을 발견하고, 그 해결책을 제시하여 도시의 재난 위험도를 경감시키는 데 있다. 이는 인천시가 직면한 재난위험도를 실무자들이 인지하도록 돕는 것이다. 그리고 재난에 취약한 분야에 대해 복원력을 갖출 수 있도록 UNDRR에서 권장하고 해결방안을 제시하였다. 이러한 과정이 인천시의 재난 복원력을 향상시키는데 기여할 수 있음을 확인하였다. UNDRR에서는 세계 도시의 재난경감을 위하여, 2010년부터 '기후변화, 재해에 강한 도시 만들기 캠페인, 일명 MCR(Making Cities Resilient) 캠페인'을 전 세계 도시로 확산시키고 있다. UNDRR에서 채택된 재난경감 지침을 적용함으로써 정부 및 지방자치단체, 이웃 도시들 간의 협업 등을 권장하고 있는 것이다. 인천시의 UN 도시 재난 복원력 스코어카드 평가 결과는 필수사항 10가지 중에 5개 분야(1. 재난 복원력을 위한 조직구성 및 이행 준비, 4. 복원력에 강한 도시개발과 설계추구, 5. 자연생태계가 제공하는 보호기능 강화를 위한 자연 완충재 보존, 9. 효과적인 재난대비와 대응력 확보, 10. 신속한 복원과 더 나은 재건)에서 5점 만점에 4점 이상(4.3~5.0)의 점수를 획득하여 강한 복원력 분야로 평가되었다. 이에 반해 5개 분야(2. 현재와 미래의 위험 시나리오 분석, 이해, 활용, 3. 재난 복원력을 위한 재정적 역량 강화, 6. 복원력을 위한 기관 역량 강화, 7. 복원력을 위한 사회적 역량 이해 및 강화, 8. 사회기반시설의 복원력 강화)는 5점 만점에 4점 미만(3.20~3.85)의 점수를 획득하여 약한 복원력 분야로 평가되었다. 본 연구의 스코어카드 평가 결과를 통해, 인천시가 당면한 위험요소를 우선순위별로 확인할 수 있었고, 재난위험도를 최소화할 수 있는 복원력 향상방안, 도시안전 기반의 도시개발계획 수립, 활용 가능한 재난경감자원 확인, 통합적인 재난대비 방안 등에 도움을 줄 수 있다.

체험식 안전교육 이수 근로자의 행동 변화 연구 (Behavioral Change of Workers who completed Experiential Safety Training)

  • 건설근로자에게 강의식으로 전달하는 안전교육은 집중도와 몰입도에 한계가 있으므로 전달력과 흥미가 떨어진다. 교육을 통하여 불안전한 행동을 개선하고, 안전사고를 예방하기 위해서는 체험식 교육으로 패러다임을 전환할 필요가 있다. 연구목적: 체험식 안전교육은 건설근로자가 위험을 더 빠르게 인지하고, 응급대처 능력향상과 사전·사후 학습전이 효과성을 검증하므로 건설근로자 사고 예방에 기여하고, 체험교육이 건설근로자 안전한 행동 유도에 미치는 영향 연구가 목적이다. 연구방법:실제 건설 현장과 동일 작업환경으로 구성된 체험시설을 경험한 종사자들의 설문으로 안전체험교육 사전·사후에 대한 의견조사와 학습전이 성과에 대해서 조작적 정의와 변수측정도구를 계획하고, 연구가설을 설정하였다. 연구결과: 구조방정식 모형을 통하여 경로분석 하였으며, 베이지안 이론과 MC 시뮬레이션 분석법으로 척도목표 기술통계량 및 척도입력 기술통계량에서 의도된 안전(A), 불안전(B)의 하위영역 비(非) 체험 교육, 체험식 교육의 평균, 표준편차, 최소·최대 값을 통해서 건설근로자 행동 변화를 확인하고 가설을 증명하였다. 결론: 건설근로자들에게 참여동기가 유발되어야 교육의 효과와 산업재해가 감소된다.

사고사례 분석을 통한 학교안전사고 예방정책에 관한 연구 (A Study on the School Safety Accident Prevention Policy through Accident Case Analysis)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest prevention policy by analyzing accident cases related with school facilities. The results of study are as follows: First, policy enforcement that follows disaster management process such as prevention, preparation, response and recovery is required for school safety policy. Second, in order to proceed with the effective safety policy through collection, analysis, interpretation of data and result monitoring against accident case, the systematic safety infrastructure such as injury surveillance system and the composition of policy consultative group among safety organizations should be established. Third, the school facilities should be installed and managed according to the safety design. Fourth, the systematic education is needed to done for the managers who are concerned with safety regarding the establishment of safety management plan for each school. Fifth, the evaluation and feedback system is required for the results of proceeding with safety policy.

The effectiveness of gamification on nursing practice for undergraduate students: A systematic review

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of gamification in nursing practice for undergraduate students, as well as to explore the use of gamification in nursing education. This study is a systematic review of RCTs evaluating the effectiveness of gamification in nursing practice for undergraduate students. A total of 7 articles were identified in a search of PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Embase, and the additional databases were CINAHL (in English) and RISS (in Korean) between September 28, 2022 to October 5, 2022. Themes related to the environment and personal behaviors between 2002 and 2021 were extracted. The intervention themes were blood transfusion, postoperative pediatric nursing, postoperative hemorrhage and brain trauma nursing, basic and advanced life support, disaster nursing, and neonatal resuscitation. The primary outcomes were knowledge in five studies, satisfaction in one study, and competency in one study. The secondary outcomes were satisfaction in three studies, confidence in two studies, performance in two studies, skills in two studies, and self-efficacy, motivation, professional attitude, cognition, gameful experience, and affective response in one study each. Therefore, gamification interventions can be utilized in nursing practice education instead of traditional teaching methods such as lectures and face-to-face clinical practice.
