A Study on the Multiple Output Circuit Implementation (다출력 회로 구현에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents a design method for multiple-output combinational digital logic systems using time domain based on multiplexing and common multi-terminal extension decision diagrams. The common multi-terminal extension decision diagrams represents extension valued multiple-output functions, while time domain based on multiplexing systems transmit several signals on a single lines. The proposed method can reduce the 1)hardware, 2)logic levels and 3)pins. In the logic system design, we use two types of decision diagrams, that is the common binary decision diagrams and common multi-terminal extension decision diagrams.

  • MMIS System of KNGR is composed of systems by using of digital equipment in general, and also interface function among systems is completed by a network. According to this, KNGR PCS also got rid of many kinds of interface cards which have been used for hardwired interface to outside system, and most of function in these cards is to be programmed by PLC. This paper defines the function and method which is to be programmed to PLC. And this paper presents new function which is to be added for operator's interface by using network. It is expected that PCS logic cabinet will be more simplified, satisfy KNGR design concept, and operation convenience will be increased.

A Comparative Study on the Prediction of KOSPI 200 Using Intelligent Approaches

  • In recent years, many attempts have been made to predict the behavior of bonds, currencies, stock or other economic markets. Most previous experiments used the neural network models for the stock market forecasting. The KOSPI 200 (Korea Composite Stock Price Index 200) is modeled by using different neural networks and fuzzy logic. In this paper, the neural network, the dynamic polynomial neural network (DPNN) and the fuzzy logic employed for the prediction of the KOSPI 200. The prediction results are compared by the root mean squared error (RMSE) and scatter plot, respectively. The results show that the performance of the fuzzy system is little bit worse than that of the DPNN but better than that of the neural network. We can develop the desired fuzzy system by optimization methods.

FLORA: Fuzzy Logic - Objective Risk Analysis for Intrusion Detection and Prevention

  • The widespread use of Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and social media in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) field has resulted in continuous and unavoidable cyber-attacks on users and critical infrastructures worldwide. Traditional security measures such as firewalls and encryption systems are not effective in countering these sophisticated cyber-attacks. Therefore, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS) are necessary to reduce the risk to an absolute minimum. Although IDPSs can detect various types of cyber-attacks with high accuracy, their performance is limited by a high false alarm rate. This study proposes a new technique called Fuzzy Logic - Objective Risk Analysis (FLORA) that can significantly reduce false positive alarm rates and maintain a high level of security against serious cyber-attacks. The FLORA model has a high fuzzy accuracy rate of 90.11% and can predict vulnerabilities with a high level of certainty. It also has a mechanism for monitoring and recording digital forensic evidence which can be used in legal prosecution proceedings in different jurisdictions.

Implementation of the Digital Current Control System for an Induction Motor Using FPGA (FPGA를 이용한 유도 전동기의 디지털 전류 제어 시스템 구현)

  • In this paper, a digital current control system using a FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) was implemented, and the system was applied to an induction motor widely used as an industrial driving machine. The FPGA designed by VHDL(VHSIC Hardware Description Language) consists of a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) generation block, a PWM protection block, a speed measuring block, a watch dog timer block, an interrupt control block, a decoder logic block, a wait control block and digital input and output blocks respectively. Dedicated clock inputs on the FPGA were used for high-speed execution, and an up-down counter and a latch block were designed in parallel, in order that the triangle wave could be operated at 40 MHz clock. When triangle wave is compared with many registers respectively, gate delay occurs from excessive fan-outs. To reduce the delay, two triangle wave registers were implemented in parallel. Amplitude and frequency of the triangle wave, and dead time of PWM could be changed by software. This FPGA was synthesized by pASIC 2SpDE and Synplify-Lite synthesis tool of Quick Logic company. The final simulation for worst cases was successfully performed under a Verilog HDL simulation environment. And the FPGA programmed for an 84 pin PLCC package was applied to digital current control system for 3-phase induction motor. The digital current control system of the 3 phase induction motor was configured using the DSP(TMS320C31-40 MHz), FPGA, A/D converter and Hall CT etc., and experimental results showed the effectiveness of the digital current control system.

Optimal Intelligent Digital Redesign for a Class of Fuzzy-Model-Based Controllers

  • In this paper, we develop an optimal intelligent digital redesign method for a class of fuzzy-model-based controllers, effective for stabilization of continuous-time complex nonlinear systems. Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy model is used to extend the results of the classical digital redesign technique to complex nonlinear systems. Unlike the conventional intelligent digital redesign technique reported in the literature, the proposed method utilized the recently developed LMI optimization technique to obtain a digitally redesigned fuzzy-model-based controller. Precisely speaking, the intelligent digital redesign problem is converted to an equivalent optimization problem, and the LMI optimization method is used to find the digitally redesigned fuzzy-model-based controller. A numerical example is provided to evaluate the feasibility of the proposed approach.

  • Recently we started a development of the digital meister expert system for the product design supporting in manufacturing industry. Knowledge representation is of major importance in digital moister expert system. This rule-based expert system-knowledges are designed for a certain type of knowledge representation such as rules or logic. The way in which a rule-based expert system represents knowledge affects the development, efficiency, speed, and maintenance. Eventually, this digital moister system is used to the engineer in manufacturing industry for the process control, production management and system management. In this paper, we propose the digital moister system knowledge representation method for product design supporting in manufacturing industry and we present introduction and contents of rule-based knowledge representation supporting tool.

  • In this paper, as a compatible software radio transmission system, Digital-Radio conversion system which can directly change the digital signal generated by the logic circuit into radio signal is proposed. By the vector synthesis method, the digital signals can change directly into radio signal. If such a circuit is realized, RF circuit and an antenna can be composed by the simple one device, and the radio is directly controlled and performed by the software processing which is the essence of software radio. This Digital-Radio conversion system of this paper give many number of communication channels being offered by PN code and offer a hardware design flexibility by digitization, therefore it decrease the percentage ratio of hardware of system and give a more flexible function of software basis. In this paper, this proposed Digital-Radio conversion system is called D/R converter, and the principle of this D/R converter, radio signal generation algorithm is explained and the performance characteristics of proposed algorithm is shown in time base by the computer simulation method.

Design and Implementation of Low power ALU based on NCL (Null Convention Logic) (NCL 기반의 저전력 ALU 회로 설계 및 구현)

  • Conventional synchronous design circuits cannot only satisfy the timing requirement of the low voltage digital systems, but also they may generate wrong outputs under the influence of PVT variations and aging effects. Therefore, in this paper, a NCL (Null Convention Logic) design as an asynchronous design method has been proposed, where the NCL method doesn't require any timing analysis, and it has a very simple design methodology. Base on the NCL method, a new low power reliable ALU has been designed and implemented using MagnaChip-SKhynix 0.18um CMOS technology. The experimental results of the proposed NCL ALU have been compared to those of a conventional pipelined ALU in terms of power consumption and speed.

Design of Ultra Low-Voltage NCL Circuits in Nanoscale MOSFET Technology (나노 MOSFET 공정에서의 초저전압 NCL 회로 설계)

  • Ultra low-power design and energy harvesting applications require digital systems to operate under extremely low voltages approaching the point of balance between dynamic and static power consumption which is attained in the sub-threshold operation mode. Delay variations are extremely large in this mode. Therefore, in this paper, a new low-power logic design methodology using asynchronous NCL circuits is proposed to reduce power consumption and not to be affected by various technology variations in nanoscale MOSFET technology. The proposed NCL is evaluated using various benchmark circuits at 0.4V supply voltage, which are designed using 45nm MOSFET predictive technology model. The simulation results are compared to those of conventional synchrouns logic circuits in terms of power consumption and speed.
