DSP 기반 DRM 수신기 구현 (An Implementation of the DSP-based Digital Radio Modiale Receiver)

  • In this paper, a software-based Digital Radio Modiale(DRM) receiver is implemented on a Digital Signal Processor(DSP). DRM stands for the European radio broadcasting standard to bring AM radio into digital radio, designed to work at frequencies below 30MHz. DRM can offer various data services such as text messaging and slideshow services as well as audio services. The DRM receiver implemented on the Tensilica DSP core performs well at low signal strength indication of -102dBm.

  • Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) is an upcoming standard in Korea used to provide mobile multimedia broadcasting service based on the Eureka-147 Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system. The current dominant multimedia coding standard, MPEG-4, is foreseen to play an important role in forthcoming DMB services. However, the current approaches for transporting MPEG-4 content over DMB networks are not optimized. To address this issue we propose a novel MPEG-4 stream multiplexer, called M4SMux, which provides better stream multiplexing and delivery over DMB networks. M4SMux features an MPEG-4 elementary-stream interleaving mechanism that reduces the multiplexing overhead and a multiplex configuration mechanism that utilizes M4SLinkTable for easy content access. In addition, we propose an error correction method which enhances transport efficiency.

  • Because of the rapid growth of Internet and multimedia applications, how to protect IPR (intellectual property rights) has become a critical issue. Is one of the ways to overcome the problem of the protection of IPR. Digital watermarking call be applied to multimedia data, such as digital images, digital video, and digital audio. In this paper, we propose a digital watermarking technique for digital images to authenticate an owner or an image by embedding visually recognizable patterns, such as logos, signatures, or stamps into images In BDCT (block discrete cosine transform) frequency domain. The proposed method sorts the components of an original image twice. At the same time, the method, also, rearranges the components of a watermark twice in order to be more robust, and finally embeds the watermark into the image. From the experimental results, the conjunction of three similarity measurements shows that our proposed method is robust to image cropping, image filtering, and JPEG (the Joint Photographic Experts Group) both subjectively and objectively.

  • 방송 환경이 점차 디지털로 발전해 나가면서, HDTV를 넘어서는 차세대 방송서비스에 관한 관심이 증대되고 있다. 차세대 방송 서비스는 2차원 영상 서비스에서 3차원 영상 서비스로, HD급 영상 서비스에서 UHD(Ultra High Definition)급 영상 시비스로, 5.1 채널 오디오 서비스에서 10 채널 이상의 다채널 오디오 서비스로 진화하여 고품질의 실감 방송 서비스를 제공하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 UHDTV 방송 서비스 환경에서 고품질의 오디오 서비스를 제공하기 위한 10.2 채널 기반의 다채널 오디오 재현 기술에 대해 설명한다. 10.2 채널 재현 시스템은 기존 5.1 채널 시스템을 기반으로 측면에 2개의 스피커를 추가하여 측면의 음상정위 성능을 향상시켰으며, 전면에 2개의 수직면 스피커와 후면에 1개의 천정 스피커를 추가하여 수평면 뿐 아니라 수직면에서의 음상정위가 가능하다. 10.2 채널 시스템에 대한 성능을 평가하기 위해 APM 모델을 활용한 객관적 음상정위 평가와 22.2 채널과 10.2 채널 재현시스템을 구축하여 청취자를 통한 실제 주관적 음상정위 평가를 수행하였다. 객관적, 주관적 음상정위 평가 결과 10.2 채널 시스템은 22.2 채널 시스템과 통계학적으로 동일한 음성정위 평가 결과를 보였고, 기존 5.1 채널 시스템 대비 우수한 음상정위 평가결과를 보여주었다.

A Novel Method for Inserting an MPEG-2 TS into Ensemble in a DMB Transmission System

  • This paper presents an effective algorithm for inserting an MPEG-2 transport stream (TS) into a Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) ensemble without any bandwidth waste in a Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) transmission system. The key technologies of this algorithm include packet rate control and program clock reference correction, which are important for TS processing. The proposed algorithms are applied to the various DMB transmission systems based on Eureka-147, and the performance of the proposed algorithm is confirmed through the experimental DMB broadcasting.

  • The performance of a 1-bit DAC depends on that of the analog circuits. The mixed SC-CT (switched capacitor-continuous time) architecture is an effective design methodology for the analog circuits. This paper Proposes a new buffer scheme for the 1-bit digital-to-analog subconverter and a new SF-DSC(smoothing filter and differential-to-sig le converter) which performs both the smoothing filter and the differential-to-single convertor simultaneously.

  • This paper proposed a guideline for selecting the arithmetic circuit architecture. The guideline incorpo-rates the new concept of PDSP (power-delay-size product) and the weighting method. HSPICE simulations havc been performed to several full adders in order to prove the validity of the proposed guideline. We applied this guideline to select an optimized FA (full adder) architecture and successfully implemented the DAC's digital blocks.

  • With the rapid growth of network distributions of digitized media(audio, image, and video), there is an urgent need for copyright protection. For now watermarking is a well-known technique for copyright protection of digital data. To embed a digital watermark to the image, discrete cosine transform(DCT) and wavelet transform are commonly used. In this paper, the performance of the DCT based watermarking technique and wavelet based watermarking technique were compared and the influences of the parameter a that decides the strength of the watermarking data were considered.

  • DMB is a next-generation multimedia broadcasting system that not only enables digital broadcasting services such as transmission of CD-duality audio, traffic information, and real-time stock information, but also allows reception of high-quality digital TV in high-speed driving conditions. In the DMB system, MPEG-2 TS(Transport Stream) multiplex method and MPEG-4 System SL(Sync Layer) have been selected as the delivery layer. In this paper, an efficient interface scheme between an MPEG-2 TS processing hardware and software-implemented MPEG-4 system within a DMB terminal device is proposed.

  • In this paper, a web-based 3D virtual reality (VR) pavillion of Korean Traditional Music was implemented. The VR pavillion is used for the virtual demonstration and experience of Korean Traditional Music, which provides the information as well as multimedia experience on eight instruments to users through internet. It provides eight web-pages and one an audio-visual classroom on the instruments.
