  • In this paper, It is introduced to electromagnetic sound by AC motor and example of application by experiments. And Through adjusting some design parameter related to Mass, Damping coefficient and Stiffness of the system, we could find best design point to reduce motor total noise as well as noise component at AC power frequency (2f).

  • Preliminary test for the design and construction of a tuned dynamic absorber is a conducted. Proposed tuned dynamic absorber is a cantilevered beam type, and is supposed to adjust its natural frequency according to the changing operation condition of the primary system. The modal mass of the dynamic absorber is the easiest to control, therefore, the position of the attached mass of the dynamic absorber is considered as the main design parameter of the absorber. The effect of the dynamic absorber is experimentally verified under various operation conditions of the primary system.

  • In this paper, poppet valve with cone type poppet and sharp edged seat was studied. In order to develope poppet valve which have a specification of 315(bar) and 3(lpm), effect of design parameter as valve seat diameter, poppet angle, spring stiffness and spring pre-load was evaluated. The validity of simulation was confirmed and basic data far poppet valve design was derived.

  • In designing fuzzy model, we encounter a major difficulty in the identification of an optimized fuzzy rule base, which is traditionally achieved by a tedious-and-error process. This paper presents an approach to automatic design of optimal fuzzy rule bases for modeling using evolutionary programming. Evolutionary programming evolves simultaneously the structure and the parameter of fuzzy rule base a given task. To check the effectiveness of the suggested approach, 3 examples for modeling are examined, and the performance of the identified models are demonstrated.

  • This paper presents an LMI-based method to design an integral sliding mode controller for an uncertain system with a polytopic model. The uncertain system under consideration may have mismatched parameter uncertainties in the state matrix as well as in the input matrix. Using LMIs we derive an existence condition of a sliding surface. And we give a switching feedback control law.

  • In this paper the PID-B self-tuner[1] is extended to allow a less abrupt response to set point or plant parameter changes and to control a nonminimum phase plant. The proposed extended PID/ST derived from the direct pole-placement PID/ST is obtained with the Bezout identity as the underlying design method. And its control gains are normalized by the integral control gain. Although the integral control gain is normalized to 1 in our scheme, the so-called "set point and derivative kick" can be avoided sufficiently by normalizing the measurement vector and set point.

  • Qualify Engineering(QE) is purposed for company profits. It is difficult to understand the literature of QE which is published in Korean. In this paper, we want to make easy understanding of the QE and to apply it to real fields. Though that Taguchi has contributed to QE is absolute, QE and Taguchi methods are not the same methods. In this paper, we are trying to show differences of those. QE methods also are developed from the design of experience, the design of parameter and the on-line control of production process. Nowadays, the main subject of QE are to determine control variables and noise variables.

  • This paper studies the evaluation of mechanical design plans through fuzzy cluster. Plans are classified into two sets, 'good' and 'bad'. The membership of a plan to the 'good' set is numerically equal to the distance to the 'bad' set. The central parameter of the 'good' set is defined as '1', and that of the 'bad' set '0'. This will greatly simplify calculations. The result of the calculating example proves the method available.
