  • The results of effective irradiation swelling in a wide range of burnup levels are numerically obtained for an inert matrix fuel, which are verified with DART model. The fission gas swelling of fuel particles is calculated with a mechanistic model, which depends on the external hydrostatic pressure. Additionally, irradiation and thermal creep effects are included in the inert matrix. The effects of matrix creep strains, external hydrostatic pressure and temperature on the effective irradiation swelling are investigated. The research results indicate that (1) the above effects are coupled with each other; (2) the matrix creep effects at high temperatures should be involved; and (3) ranged from 0 to 300 MPa, a remarkable dependence of external hydrostatic pressure can be found. Furthermore, an explicit multi-variable mathematic model is established for the effective irradiation swelling, as a function of particle volume fraction, temperature, external hydrostatic pressure and fuel particle fission density, which can well reproduce the finite element results. The mathematic model for the current volume fraction of fuel particles can help establish other effective performance models.

  • In this paper, it was presented a design on the dynamic multimedia fingerprinting code for anti-collusion code(ACC) in the protection of multimedia content. Multimedia fingerprinting code for the conventional ACC, is designed with a mathematical method to increase k to k+1 by transform from BIBD's an incidence matrix to a complement matrix. A codevector of the complement matrix is allowanced fingerprinting code to a user' authority and embedded into a content. In the proposed algorithm, the feature points were drawing from a content which user bought, with based on these to design the dynamical multimedia fingerprinting code. The candidate codes of ACC which satisfied BIBD's v and k+1 condition is registered in the codebook, and then a matrix is generated(Below that it calls "Rhee matrix") with ${\lambda}+1$ condition. In the experimental results, the codevector of Rhee matrix based on a feature point of the content is generated to exist k in the confidence interval at the significance level ($1-{\alpha}$). Euclidean distances between row and row and column and column each other of Rhee matrix is working out same k value as like the compliment matrices based on BIBD and Graph. Moreover, first row and column of Rhee matrix are an initial firing vector and to be a forensic mark of content protection. Because of the connection of the rest codevectors is reported in the codebook, when trace a colluded code, it isn't necessity to solve a correlation coefficient between original fingerprinting code and the colluded code but only search the codebook then a trace of the colluder is easy. Thus, the generated Rhee matrix in this paper has an excellent robustness and fidelity more than the mathematically generated matrix based on BIBD as ACC.

  • The symmetry is general geometric design principal in contemporary architecture shape. But, Symmetry sometimes easily causes unreasonable design. In some reason, two of symmetric units in the apartment, one side of unit have very reasonable plan and arrangement but opposite side unit nay not. For example, if the kitchen on right unit had right-handed arrangement, the symmetrical other would have left-handed kitchen arrangement. In addition to this, if each house unit has the same plan but different direction, each unit has different usage or affects the residents' life pattern. Nevertheless, Architects use only one unit plan to design public housing development by using symmetric operator (mirror, proper rotation, inversion center) at their option. This study suggests that using group theory and mathematical matrix rather than designer's discretion can solve this symmetry problem clearly. And, this study analysis the merits and demerits between each symmetrical pair of unit plan shapes by using mathematical point group theory and matrix.

  • Engineering design involves the specification of many variables that define a product, how it is made, and how it behaves. Before some variables can be determined, other variables must first be known or assumed. This fact implies a precedence order of the variables, and of the tasks of determining these variable consequently. Moreover, design of complex systems may involve a large number of design activities. In this paper, the activity-activity incidence matrix is considered as a representation of design activity analysis which mainly focuses on the precedence constraint. In order to analyze the activity-activity incidence matrix, a heuristic algorithm is proposed, which transforms an activity-activity, parameter-formula, and parameter-parameter incidence matrix into a lower triangular form. The analysis of the structured matrices can not only significantly reduce the overall project complexity by reorganizing few critical tasks in practice, but also aims at obtaining shorter times considering the solution structure by exploring concurrency.

  • In designing the controller by changing the weighting matrix for the pirpose of satisfying constraints, the physical meaning of weighting matrix may disapperar and the system may not yield best performance because operation condition such as periodic disturbance was not considered. In this paper, the weighting matrix is fixed and controller is designed to minimize the new performance index to reduce the effects of periodic-type disturbances. This method is applied to design the satellite controller to verify the effetiveness.

  • A class of new observers in descriptor linear systems, proportional-derivative(PD) observers, are proposed. A parametric design approach for such observers is proposed based on a complete parametric solution to the generalized Sylvester matrix equation. The approach provides complete parameterizations for all the observer gains, gives the parametric expression for the corresponding left eigenvector matrix of the observer system matrix, realizes elimination of impulsive behaviors, and guarantees the regularity of the observer system.

  • The paper by Paik (1985) introduced a structural property of the designs which was related to the concordance matrix $NN^{t}$ of the design. This special property was termed Property-C. The designs which have Property-C need not calculation of the generalize inverse of C matrix for solution of reduced normal equation. Paik also mentioned that some block designs belong to Property-C. This paper show the Extended Group Divisible designs defined by Hinkelmann (1964) are included in Property-C.

  • This paper presents an LMI-based method to design an integral sliding mode controller for an uncertain system with a polytopic model. The uncertain system under consideration may have mismatched parameter uncertainties in the state matrix as well as in the input matrix. Using LMIs we derive an existence condition of a sliding surface. And we give a switching feedback control law.

  • This paper presents matrix inequality conditions for H$_2$optimal control of linear time-invariant descriptor systems in continuous and discrete time cases, respectively. First, the necessary and sufficient condition for H$_2$control and H$_2$controller design method are expressed in terms of LMls(linear matrix inequalities) with no equality constraints in continuous time case. Next, the sufficient condition for H$_2$control and H$_2$controller design method are proposed by matrix inequality approach in discrete time case. A numerical example is given in each case.

  • Currently, the space design has been expressed the space in kinetic design by digital technology. To look into the concept of digital design, there is the tendency to pursue the harmony of the nature. The digital space designer, Greg Lynn who has been paid attention by international researchers. To compared with the reputation of his works, the information about him has been limited to us. The purpose of this study was to investigate the Greg Lynn's digital design matrix toward the design process in his representative 11 works in his website; www.glform.com. The contents analyses methods were used in this study. Greg Lynn's internet website survey was carried out in the respects of thinking method, space formative language and animate form. The major results of this study are as follows: \circled1 Lynn's design concept and digital methodology were affected by Paolo Soleri and Peter Eisenman: natural architectural concept and digital animate form \circled2 Lynn's space formative languages were 10 items; blob, blob, fold, strand, shred, flower, skin, teeth, branch and lattice \circled3 Lynn's digital design matrix was divided into 3 types; MS(Mass + Structure), PC(Path + Circulation) and FD(Form + Detail) \circled4 According to the analysis of longitudinal, his works have been changed from the MS and PC to FD.
