  • Although the life-sustaining treatment decision law is in effect, health care worker have many difficulties in determining life-sustaining treatment. Therefore, the relationship between the awareness of well-dying(WD), the attitude toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment(AWLST), and the attitude toward euthanasia(AE) for nursing students who will take care of dying patients in the future will be analyzed and used as basic data for bioethics classes. The study period was from April 1 to May 6, 2018, and a survey was conducted on 288 nursing students in D City. As a result of the study, WD was found to have positive (+) correlations with AWLST and AE, while AWLST was positive (+) with active and passive euthanasia. As nurses are expected to experience many ethical conflicts in the life-sustaining treatment process, it is necessary to receive education related to well-dying awareness, bioethics education, and life-sustaining treatment during the nursing student period.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of oral care behavior, oral health care self-efficacy, and social support on the subjective oral health level of the elderly. The data survey was conducted from September 17, 2019 to November 22, 2019 for the elderly living in Daejeon Metropolitan City and parts of Chungcheongnam-do, and the collected data were analyzed by 𝑥2-test, Pearson correlation analysis, and logistic regression analysis. As a result of the survey, subjective oral health level increased by 3.242 times when dentures were not used and 2.339 times when the number of brushings per day was 3 or more times. In addition, as the oral health care self-efficacy and social support increased 1.755 times and 1.192 times, respectively, the subjective oral health level also increased. Based on the above results, in order to improve the subjective oral health level of the elderly, opportunities for oral health education such as denture care methods and toothbrushing lessons should be expanded. In addition, there is a need to prepare policies to reinforce oral health care self-efficacy and social support.

As a method of study, second data of 2017 community health survey and Statistics Korea by City·Gun·Gu public office were used and a multi-level analysis was conducted after separating EQ-5D index, individual factor and community factor. As a result, men, age, education level, monthly household income, having economic activity, the number of sports infrastructure were positively associated with the quality of life, and subjective health not good, extremely perceived stress were negatively associated with the quality of life. Research will continue to provide a platform independent of hardware that can utilize the cloud and open source for medical big data analysis in the future.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this descriptive research is to identify how stress from Covid-19, health beliefs, and social support of college students affect health prevention. Methods: The subjects of the study were 128 university students, excluding health major students, at one university in D City. The survey was conducted from August 1 to 31, 2020. The survey questionnaire consists of 8 items on stress from COVID-19, 12 items adapted from a health belief measurement tool, 12 items from a social support measurement tool, and 11 items adapted from a tool that measures health preventive behaviors. The collected data were analyzed using the hierarchical multiple regression analysis method with SPSS 26.0. Results: In model 1, stress from COVID-19 was statistically significant (β=-.403, p=.003). Model 2 added four health belief factors into Model 1. Stress (β=-.419, p<.001), perceived severity (β=-.193, p=.030), and perceived barriers (β=-.182, p=.009) were statistically significant. In model 3, stress (β=-.413, p<.001), perceived barriers (β=-.147, p=.034), and social support (β=.194, p=.011) were statistically significant. The regression equation was significant (F=15.395, p=<.001) and the model's explanatory power was 53.1%. Conclusion: The results show that when college students had a high degree of health beliefs about COVID-19, the degree of health preventive behaviors was proportionally high. To make them practice preventive health behaviors, it is necessary to develop infection control education programs to improve health beliefs.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to establish a linkage model involving regional responsible medical institutions after analyzing the existing conditions and deriving problems through qualitative analysis within the community care system. Methods: A total of 14 participants of this study were selected through the snowball sampling method, including 7 community care service providers and 7 service users. As for the research data, primary data were collected through interviews, and as a result of analyzing according to Aday&Anderson' model, a total of 5 catergories, 8 topics, and 22 sub theme were derived. Results: The problem derived from the interview is that division services are provided for each institution due to the absence of a key central institution of community care system, and users' commercial institutions is unclear. The second is the inconsistency between the needs and supply for community care, resulting in a possibility of delay in returning to the community after discharge. Based on these problems, it is necessary to unify it as an community care window of the Dong-community center. In addition, there is a need for public health centers to play an active role, and to establish a public-private joint system with the Health and Living Support Center to establish a model that can play a certain role. Conclusions: Therefore, based on the results of this study, it can be used as basic data when constructing community care model and applying it as an expanded model in the future.

The study method was targeted to 191 childcare teachers working in D Metropolitan City from March to April 2021. The self-reliance, optimism, and job stress of childcare teachers were surveyed using a survey instrument. For data analysis, frequency, percentage, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression were performed using SPSS WIN 20.0 program. As a result of this study, first, ego resilience and optimism showed a positive correlation, ego resilience and job stress had a negative correlation, and optimism and job stress had a negative correlation. Second, as a result of analyzing the factors affecting the job stress of childcare teachers, it was found that ego resilience had an effect. According to these results, in order to lower the job stress of childcare teachers, a program that can improve self-resilience and lower job stress should be developed and provided.

Data were collected using questionnaires from 181 students who were in 2rd and 4th year of the nursing college in D city, from May to Jun 2019. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, pearson's corelation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression with IBM SPSS 21.0 program. The study results showed that university students in nursing scored 3.52±.69, points for knowledge of advance directives, 3.10±.36 for attitude of advance directives, 3.14±.27 for hospice perception. The knowledge for advance directives was positively correlated with Attitude (r=.38, p <.001), and toward perception for hospice (r=0.28, p <.001). Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop a systematic education program in order to improve the awareness of the Perception of Hospice, Knowledge and Attitude toward Advance Directives.

  • Purpose: This is a cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the effects of dry eye syndrome symptoms and eye fatigue on the vision-related quality of life (QOL) of middle-aged patients with dry eye syndrome. Methods: The participants of this study were 94 ophthalmology clinic outpatients aged 40-59 years who were diagnosed with dry eye syndrome at A and S Ophthalmology Clinics in D City, South Korea, and were exhibiting dry eye syndrome symptoms. Data were collected from July 5, 2021 to July 22, 2021, and analyzed using independent t-test, analysis of variance, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN 25.0 program. Results: The severity of dry eye syndrome symptoms and asthenopia (r=.73, p<.001) in the participants were positively correlated, whereas the severity of dry eye syndrome symptoms and vision-related quality of life (r=-.76, p<.001) were negatively correlated. Additionally, there was a negative relationship between eye fatigue and vision-related QOL (r=-.55, p<.001). It was found that the final factors affecting the vision-related QOL of middle-aged patients with dry eye syndrome were the severity of dry eye syndrome symptoms (β=-0.76, p<.001) and dry eye stress (β=-0.14, p=.048). The explanatory power of vision-related QOL in the participants was 56.0%. Conclusion: To develop indices that can objectively measure patients' subjective symptoms for improving their vision-related QOL is necessary.
