The study was carried out for the purpose of identifying implications that should be considered in educating DDC through online within Library and Information Science curriculum. Followed by operating a NCS-based educational course utilizing printed matter and web version of DDC, two tests and survey were conducted to analyze learning outcomes, satisfaction, and preferences by learning tools. The result showed that differences in educational medium do not correlate to educational performance significantly. However, during the learning process, the mainly used medium affects the usefulness, preference and future utilization of the medium. Based on the research results, when designing DDC education using WebDewey in the future, compared to the printed version, relative understanding for utilizing the structure and its items of DDC classification, built numbers and education for understanding Web Dewey interface and function are required.

This study intends to : 1) confirm the possibility to transform the enumerated scheme into the faceted scheme, 2) review general theories on facet structure employed in DDC of the enumerated scheme, 3) analyze the facet structure of life science and literature in DDC, and 4) comparison of the facet structure of life science and literature in DDC and CC. This study suggests following conclusions. 1) CC follows throughly the classification principles by Ranganathan, but all classification theories are not property applied to DDC yet. 2) Because DDC does not have any formula to classify the compound subject, but has to follow the compounding methods presented in each subject, its facet structure is too complicated. 3) DDC has transformed the entire system into the facet structure through its revision. Expecially the life science transformed into the facet structure employed the facet indicators and applies them to all the systems in life science. But the notations have sometimes twofold meanings, and no ability to differentiate the meanings in the same notation,. When DDC follows the classification method by facet, the number of items for classification so limited that it is difficult to array the subdivision and that length of notation becomes longer and longer.

Although the research information resources on Internet are spread out on thousands of computers, it is not always easy to get them on the right time by the right manner. The purpose of this study is to use DDC(Dewey Decimal Classification) scheme in subject-based directory search engine for research information resourcees to aid retrieval on the Internet. For the design of classification code, this study followed 'systematic order' of DDC to arrange subjects from the general o the specific in a logical order, and for the design of classification dictionary, 'Relative Index' of DDC was used to bring together the various aspects of subjects.

The objective of this study is to understand the application of relative location system and minute classification system in the DDC and to identify the effect of the relative location system and minute classification system during the late of 19th century. In order to achieve the objective, four main investigation areas were chosen: relative location system, minute classification system, and DDC influence to other libraries and classification systems. First, DDC applied a relative location system revolutionarily instead of a fixed location system for arranging books on the shelves, so it opened the period of modern library classification systems. Second, it used a minute classification system, and could classify books which had minute subjects. Third, it applied form to a criterion for dividing divisions and sections, so it helped for classifying books. Fourth, it used a numerical decimal system as a classification system, then people could use it economically and practically. Last, DDC influenced modern classification system such as the Expansive Classification and the Subject Classification etc. DDC is a suitable library classification system for the needs of the times, and it is a practical classification system for each library.

Performing wideband DDC while quantizing signal over a wide dynamic range and high speed sampling rate have primarily been implemented in a hardware such as, FPGA or ASIC because of time-consuming job. Real-time wideband DDC SW, even though signal environment changes, adapt to signal environment flexibly and can be reused. In addition, it has a lower price than the hardware implementation. In this paper, we study the system design that can be stored in real time designing a high-speed parallel processing architecture for SW-based wideband DDC. Finally, applying a Ping-Pong Buffering mechanism for receiving a signal in real time and CUDA for a high-speed signal processing, we verify wideband DDC design procedure that meets the signal processing.

In this study, A DDC online system was developed which provides subject access and browsing function for class numbers or subject terms. A knowledgebase of the DDC Schedules and Relative Index was designed for this purpose using IBM-PC. From the DDC 20th edition, subjects from 004 to 006, covering‘data processing’,‘computer science’‘programming and progrms’, and etc., were selected for this experiment. DDC schedules are represented as a frame structure which is apt to describe hierachical structures. This experiment, joining the DDC to the information retrieval environment of an online catalog, will contribute to the future of the online DDC system by providing possiblities for search strategies not feasible through the alphabetical approach of subject headings and keywords presently supported by online catalogs.

In this paper, we discuss the design of the Digital Down Converters for the IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN receiver, which can be used for the customized receiver. The customized receiver can be used for special puropsed services which cannot be realized using the general custom chip. In the OFDM receiver, DDC receives the up sampled Inphase/Quadrature signal from the AD converter and process down sampling and filtering procedures using the Cascaded Intergrator Filter and FIR filters. We discuss the structure and design methodology of DDC's and analyze the simulation results.
