The silicon-on-insulator (SOI) wafer fabrication technique has been developed by using ion-cut process, based on proton implantation and wafer bonding techniques. It has been shown by SRIM simulation that 65keV proton implantation is required for a SOI wafer (200nm SOI, 400nm BOX) fabrication. In order to investigate the optimum proton dose and primary annealing condition for wafer splitting, the surface morphologic change has been observed such as blistering and flaking. As a result, effective dose is found to be in the $6\~9\times10^{16}\;H^+/cm^2$ range, and the annealing at $550^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes is expected to be optimum for wafer splitting. Direct wafer bonding is performed by joining two wafers together after creating hydrophilic surfaces by a modified RCA cleaning, and IR inspection is followed to ensure a void free bonding. The wafer splitting was accomplished by annealing at the predetermined optimum condition, and high temperature annealing was then performed at $1,100^{\circ}C$ for 60 minutes to stabilize the bonding interface. TEM observation revealed no detectable defect at the SOI structure, and the interface trap charge density at the upper interface of the BOX was measured to be low enough to keep 'thermal' quality.
This test was performed to assess the insulation condition of the stator winding of 3.45kV hydro generator in insulation deterioration condition which was due to long service period(30years) since installed We extracted 12 stator wingdings from the hydro generator core, cut the stator windings into three parts(Middle winding part, slot winding part, end wingding part), and evaluated the insulation condition to know the deterioration condition of each parts. This insulation diagnostic tests include AC current, dissipation factor, and partial discharg test.

Concrete parking slab is often deteriorated severely after winter season because of concrete's freezing and thawing phenomenon. In this study, some methods to improve resistance against freezing-thawing is experimentally tested.: 1) concrete strength, 2) air content in concrete, 3) saw-cut effect and finish material. After experiment, in case of no finishes, 24MPa concrete with 4% air content is tested best result in terms of relative elastics modulus among testes ones. In case of concrete with finishes, all specimens are improved regardless of finishes compared to concrete with no finishes. Improvement degree compared to no finish is as follows : Polyurea > Resin-mortar > hardener and the number of improvement degree is 5, 4, 2% respectively. Further work is required considering construction site condition such as gaining water on surface and remicon in order to reflect site condition.

Recently, the construction method of high pressure jet-grouting is in wide-use, for the purpose of structure foundation ground, reinforcing of ground behind propped retaining walls and cut-off in order to perform safe construction of underground excavation work. This study was performed a serious of tests of field permeability and unconfined compressive strength upon ground improved established on the ground behind propped retaining walls and examined proper jet mechanism by changing the construction parameter value of high pressure jet-grouting. In addition, we got the conclusion like the followings as a result of inspecting the condition of earth pressure distribution and deformation, using elasto-plastic method and FEM. 1. In that characteristics of strength of ground improved, with the same condition of construction parameter, unconfined compressive strength of sand gravel is shown bigger than that of silty sand by about 1.6 times and cut-off effect is shown to have effect of reducing the permeability of original ground by about 10$^{-2}$ ~10$^{-3}$ cm/s. 2. As a result of analysis of figures of horizontal displacing quantity of propped retaining walls materials regarding before and after High pressure jet- grouting through FEM, the reducing quantity of 0.1~0.3mm in maximum horizontal displacement is shown.
In the design of slopes during rainfall, the groundwater level is assumed to be located at the ground surface, based on the change in characteristics of rainfall. In addition, stability investigations are performed for large cut slopes in the design of slopes while standard inclinations specified in the design criteria are applied for the slopes that stability investigations are not performed. In spite of the strengthened criteria of groundwater location, slope failures continuously occur during heavy rainfall, regardless of magnitude of slopes. In order to investigate the cause of the failures, stability investigations have been performed on standard inclination of slopes suggested in the design criteria for both dry and rainfall cases by ground condition in this research. Despite that standard inclination of slopes specified in the design criteria should be stable for both dry and rainfall cases, the results show that standard factor of safety has not been obtained in many cases; more than 50% of total cases for dry cases and more than 65% of total cases for rainfall case. Based on the results, this paper indicates the problems in the current design criteria and proposes the plans for establishment of countermeasure.
Two varieties of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L cv. Pioneer and Beaver) and timothy (Phleum pratense L cv. Climax and Joliette), grown at different locations in Saskatchewan (Canada), were cut at three stages [1=one week before commercial cut (early bud for alfalfa; joint for timothy); 2=at commercial cut (late bud for alfalfa; pre-bloom head for timothy); 3=one week after commercial cut (early bloom for alfalfa; full head for timothy)]. The energy values of forages were determined using three approaches, including chemical (NRC 2001 formula) and biological approaches (standard in vitro and in situ assay). The objectives of this study were to determine the effects of forage variety and stage of maturity on energy values under the climate conditions of western Canada, and to investigate relationship between chemical (NRC 2001 formula) approach and biological approaches (in vitro and in situ assay) on prediction of energy values. The results showed that, in general, forage species (alfalfa vs. timothy) and cutting stage had profound impacts, but the varieties within each species (Pioneer vs. Beaver in alfalfa; Climax vs. Joliette in timothy) had minimal effects on energy values. As forage maturity increased, the energy contents behaved in a quadratic fashion, increasing at stage 2 and then significantly decreasing at stage 3. However, the prediction methods-chemical approach (NRC 2001 formula) and biological approaches (in vitro and in situ assay) had great influences on energy values. The highest predicted energy values were found by using the in situ approach, the lowest prediction value by using the NRC 2001 formula, and the intermediate values by the in vitro approach. The in situ results may be most accurate because it is closest to simulate animal condition. The energy values measured by biological approaches are not predictable by the chemical approach in this study, indicating that a refinement is needed in accurately predicting energy values.
The SOI wafer fabrication technique has been developed by using ion-cut process, based on proton implantation and wafer bonding techniques. It has been shown by TRIM simulation that 65 keV proton implantation is required for the standard SOI wafer (200 nm SOI, 400 nm BOX) fabrication. In order to investigate the optimum proton dose and primary annealing condition for wafer splitting, the surface morphologic change has been observed such as blistering and flaking. As a result, effective dose is found to be in the 6∼$9\times10^{16}$$H^{+}/\textrm{cm}^2$ range, and the annealing at $550^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes is expected to be optimum for wafer splitting. The depth distribution of implanted hydrogen has been experimentally confirmed by ERD and SIMS measurements. The microstructure evolution in the damaged layer was also studied by X-TEM analysis.

This paper proposes a novel simulation method of WPGS (Wind Power Generation System). The rotation speed control method of turbine under variable wind speed using the pitch control is proposed. Moreover, when wind speed exceeds the cut-out wind speed, the turbine will be stopped by controlling pitch angle to 90$^{\circ}$, otherwise it will be controlled to steady-state operation. For the purpose of effective simulation, the SWRW (Simulation method for WPGS using Real Weather condition) is used for the utility interactive WPGS simulation in this paper, in which those of three topics for the WPGS simulation: user-friendly method, applicability to grid-connection and the utilization of the real weather conditions, are satisfied. It is impossible to consider the real weather conditions in the WPGS simulation using the EMTP type of simulators and PSPICE, etc. External parameter of the real weather conditions is necessary to ensure the simulation accuracy. The simulation of the WPGS using the real weather conditions including components modeling of wind turbine system is achieved by introducing the interface method of a non-linear external parameter and FORTRAN using PSCAD/EMTDC in this paper. The simulation of long-term, short-term, over cut-out and under cut-out wind speeds will be peformed by the proposed simulation method effectively. The efficiency of wind power generator, power converter and flow of energy are analyzed by wind speed of the long-term simulation. The generator output and current supplied into utility can be obtained by the short-term simulation. Finally, transient-state of the WPGS can be analyzed by the simulation results of over cut-out and under cut-out wind speeds, respectively.
This study was conducted to develop the industrial producing technology of sprout vegetables using the cut twigs of woody plants. We have cut the twigs of wild mulberry tree on 13 April,2006 to examine the sprouting rate as affected by the storage conditions on relative humidity of $40{\sim}50%$ and $80{\sim}90%$ under $4{\sim}6^{\circ}C$ temperature. And we have also investigated the sprouting growth following those storage period of twigs cut with $1{\sim}3$ buds. The longer storage periods, the less survival rate of wild mulberry twigs cut. The sprouting rate of cut twigs gathered on the day which had not stored at low temperature was 97.4%. And The sprouting rate at the relative humidity of $40{\sim}50%$ after storing at low temperature for 122 days were 34.2%, and that of at $80{\sim}90%$ relative humidity was 85.7%. The longer storage periods, the more the number, length and width of sprouts. Therefore, the twigs of a wild mulberry trees cut with $1{\sim}3$ buds were able to produce the sprout vegetables under the condition of temperature $4{\sim}6^{\circ}C$ and relative humidity $80{\sim}90%$.

Digestion trials were conducted to evaluate intake and digestibility of grass harvested at different dates. Silage was prepared from first-growth forage (predominantly timothy) which cutting dates; 4 June (vegetative, called early-cut) and 30 June (heading, called late-cut). The silage was fed to wethers at restricted and ad libitum levels of intake. The crude protein and crude fat of silage decreased with advancing maturity, while contents of fibre increased. DM intake of early-cut and late-cut silage were $99g/W_{kg}^{0.75}\;and\;75g/W_{kg}^{0.75}$, respectively. In digestibility and TDN, significant differences (p<0.01) between early-cut and late-cut silage were found. There was no significant difference in DM digestibility of early-cut silage between restricted and ad libitum feeding, but DM digestibility was decreased markedly in ad libitum feeding that out of account in fecal condition. Digestibility of all composition in early-cut silage, except for hemicellulose, was not observed with increasing levels of intake. Digestibility of crude protein, NDF and hemicellulose in late-cut silage were decreased (p<0.05) in ad libitum when compared with restricted feeding. Results of this study suggest that digestibility of early and late forages harvested as silage varies with levels of intake. Thus, relationship levels of intake and digestibility must be considered cautiously.
