비정질 실리콘을 이용한 방사선 계측시 Photoconductive Gain의 특성

  • 비정질 실리콘에서의 photoconductive gain mechanism을 방사선 계측시 이용하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. p-i-n, n-i-n, n-i-p-i-n과 같은 여러 형태의 비정질 실리콘 계측기를 제작하고 시험하였다. Photoconductive gain은 두 가지의 시간적 범위에서 측정하였다. : 하나는 고에너지의 하전입자나 감마선의 통과를 모사하기 위해서 $1{\mu }$ sec 보다 짧은 가시광선 펄스를 사용하였고, 다른 하나는 의학영상에 사용되는 x-선을 모사하기 위하여 보다 긴 1msec 정도의 가시광선 펄스를 사용하였다. 두 가지의 photoconductive gain-current gain과 charge gain-을 정의하여 실험하였으며, charge gain은 current gain을 시간에 따라 적분한 값이다. 10 mA/$cm^2$의 dark current density level에서, 짧은 펄스에 대해서는 3~9정도의 charge gain을 얻을 수 있었고 긴 펄스에 대해서는 수백의 charge gain을 얻을 수 있었다. 여러 가지의 gain에 대한 결과를 계측기의 구조, 부가전압, dark current density와의 관계를 통하여 논의하였다.

금속 Ni 분말을 용해한 도금용액으로부터 전기도금 된 Ni 박막 특성에 미치는 도금조건의 영향 (Effects of Electrodeposition Conditions on Properties of Ni Thin Films Electrodeposited from Baths Fabricated by Dissolving Metal Ni Powders)

  • Chloride plating solution was fabricated by dissolving metal Ni powders in solution with HCl and deionized water. Effects of deposition conditions on the properties of Ni films electrodeposited from chloride baths were studied. Current efficiency of Ni films electrodeposited from the baths containing saccharin was decreased with increasing the current density. Residual stress of Ni thin films ware measured to be about 230 ~ 435 MPa in the range of current density of $10{\sim}25mA/cm^2$. Cathode current efficiency in baths without saccharin was initially increased with increasing pH, while it was decreased with increasing pH further. Cathode current efficiency in baths with saccharin (except at pH 2) exhibited less 10 ~ 20% than that in baths without saccharin. Residual stress of Ni films electrodeposited from baths without saccharin was measured to be 388 ~ 473 MPa in the range of pH 2 ~ pH 5 and then was increased to 551 MPa at pH 6. On the other hand, residual stress of Ni films electrodeposited from baths with saccharin was increased with increasing pH. Surface morphology was strongly affected by the change of current density, but slightly by solution pH and addition of saccharin.

단층원통형 고온초전도도체의 교류손실 특성 (AC Loss Characteristics of a Single-layered Cylindrical High Temperature Superconductor)

  • The AC loss is an important issue in the design of the high temperature superconductor (HTS) power cables and fault current limiters. In these applications, a cylindrical HTS conductor is often used. In commercialization of these apparatuses, AC loss is a critical factor but not elucidated completely because of complexities in its measurement, e.g. non-uniform current distribution and phase difference between currents flowing in an individual HTS tape. We have prepared two cylindrical conductors composed of a Bi-2223 tape with different critical current density. In this paper, the AC loss characteristics of the conductors have been experimentally investigated and numerically analyzed. The result show that the measured losses for two conductors are not dependent on both arrangements and contact positions of a voltage lead. This implies that most of loss flux is only in the conductors. The loss for the Bi-2223 conductor with low critical current density is in good agreement with the calculated loss from Monoblock model, whereas the loss measured for the Bi-2223 conductor with high critical current density doesn't coincide with the loss calculated from the Monoblock model. The measured loss is also different from numerically calculated one based on the polygon model especially in low transport current.

Improved structures of stainless steel current collector increase power generation of microbial fuel cells by decreasing cathodic charge transfer impedance

  • Microbial fuel cell (MFC) is an innovative environmental and energy system that converts organic wastewater into electrical energy. For practical implementation of MFC as a wastewater treatment process, a number of limitations need to be overcome. Improving cathodic performance is one of major challenges, and introduction of a current collector can be an easy and practical solution. In this study, three types of current collectors made of stainless steel (SS) were tested in a single-chamber cubic MFC. The three current collectors had different contact areas to the cathode (P $1.0cm^2$; PC $4.3cm^2$; PM $6.5cm^2$) and increasing the contacting area enhanced the power and current generations and coulombic and energy recoveries by mainly decreasing cathodic charge transfer impedance. Application of the SS mesh to the cathode (PM) improved maximum power density, optimum current density and maximum current density by 8.8%, 3.6% and 6.7%, respectively, comparing with P of no SS mesh. The SS mesh decreased cathodic polarization resistance by up to 16%, and cathodic charge transfer impedance by up to 39%, possibly because the SS mesh enhanced electron transport and oxygen reduction reaction. However, application of the SS mesh had little effect on ohmic impedance.

  • In order to evaluate the mechanism of electrolytic oxidation of iodate and to determine the optimum conditions for the electrolysis, studies were made using the cells without diaphragm and the lead peroxide anode. Results are summarized as followings: 1) Current density vs. anode potential curve by lead peroxide electrode had the different limiting current densities from platinum electrode and was more positive than platinum electrode. 2) Additions of potassium bichromate in the electrolyte contribute to maintain high current efficiency. 3) In the acid and alkaline regions, the current efficiencies decreased by reduction of iodate and discharge of hydroxyl ion, so maximum current efficiency was shown at pH 7. 4) Higher current density lowered the current efficiency in the region of 60-80% conversion of iodate. 5) Influence of the conversion on current efficiency in the region of 60-80% conversion of iodate.

강박장애에서 LORETA 영상을 이용한 P300 국소원의 통계적 분석 (The P300 Source Localization in the Patients with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder using the LORETA Imaging and SPM)

  • Objectives:We investigated the characteristics of P300 generators in obsessive-compulsive disorder(OCD) patients by using voxel-based statistical parametric mapping of current density images. Methods:P300 generators, produced by a rare target tone of 1500Hz under a frequent non-target tone of 1,000Hz, were measured in 15 right-handed OCD patients and 15 controls. Low Resolution Electromagnetic Tomography(LORETA), using a realistic head model of the boundary element method based on individual MRI, was applied to the 128-channel EEG. Statistical parametric mapping(SPM) was applied for the statistical analysis. Results:We found that both groups had the mean current density of P300 in the parietal, temporal and prefrontal lobe. There was a trend for decreased current density in the prefrontal area in OCD patients. The statistical comparison showed current density increase in the supraparietal area, a statistically significant longer P300 latency and a trend for reduced P300 amplitude in OCD patients. Conclusion:It suggests that P300 source of both groups exists in multiple brain regions at the same time. And both groups had no statistically significant differences in the current density of P300 except for increased current density in the supraparietal area in OCD patients. But, considering the statistically significant longer P300 latency, a trend for reduced P300 amplitude and relative mean current density reduction in the prefrontal area in OCD patients, this study suggests that the frontal lobe may have a reduced normal inhibitory process in OCD patients.

자동노출제어장치의 채광창 차폐정도와 농도, 감도의 변화가 관전류량과 영상품질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Field Configuration Shielding Area and Changing of Density and Sensitivity on Tube Current and Image Quality in Automatic Exposure Control System)

  • 본 연구에서는 자동노출제어장치(automatic exposure control, AEC)의 채광창 차폐정도와 농도, 감도가 관전류량과 영상품질에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 실험에 사용된 장비는 X선관과 간접방식의 디지털검출기가 일체형인 디지털방사선발생장치(Digital Diagnost, Philips, Netherlands)를 사용하였다. 채광창 차폐정도는 3 mm 두께의 납을 이용하여 0%부터 100%까지 12.5%씩 순차적으로 누적 차폐하여 9단계로 구분하였다. 농도는 제조사에서 제시한 3단계(+2.5, 0, -2.5)와 감도 3단계(S200, S400, S800)를 대상으로 하였다. 관전류량 평가는 관전압을 40 kVp로 고정하고 AEC 조절인자들이 교차한 81가지의 조합조건에서 자동 노출된 관전류량을 측정하였다. 영상품질평가는 자체 제작한 원뿔형 피라미드 팬텀의 방사선영상을 육안 평가하여 유효한 영상을 선발하였고 이들의 신호 대 잡음비(signal to noise ratio, SNR)을 측정하였다. 그 결과 관전류량은 채광창 차폐정도가 100%, 감도 S200, 농도 2.5일 때 60.0 mAs로 가장 많이 조사되었으며, 채광창 차폐정도가 0%, 감도 S800, 농도 -2.5일 때 0.9 mAs로 가장 적게 조사되었다. SNR은 채광창 차폐정도가 0%, 감도 S200, 농도 2.5일 때 25.2로 가장 우수하였고, 채광창 차폐정도가 25%, 감도 S800, 농도 -2.5일 때 SNR이 4.7로 가장 낮았다.
