  • CFD analysis was performed to analyze the temperature distribution of the inner space of the curing house according to blocking the opening of the gang-form with a tent in case of concrete pouring and heat curing of the apartment house during the winter season. If the gang-form opening is closed with a tent during internal heating using a hot air blower in the winter, the internal temperature rises compared to the non-reserved due to air-tightness of the curing spaces, and uniform temperature distribution can be ensured. In addition, it is possible to increase curing efficiency by reducing the amount of heat supplied and shortening the heating time.

  • Abrams equation could be effectively applied to predict strength of cement-admixed clay and clay-water content to cement content ratio is a fundamental parameter for governing strength. This paper analyses unconfined compression strength varying with $w_c/C$ and curing time using laboratory test results. An attempt is made to identify strength of composite soil of cement and clay according to variation of Abrams coefficients and curing time. The value B, which was considered to be constant value in past researches, needs to be considered as parameter variable with curing time. From Abrams equation a correlation was formed for unconfined compression strength with mixing conditions by $w_c/C$ and curing time as dependent variable. Regression results in this paper could be used to predict strength of cement-admixed clay at various mixing conditions.

  • PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to ascertain the curing period of cementless cold central plant recycled asphalt base-layer, using mechanical analyses and specimen quality tests on the field. METHODS : Cold central plant recycled asphalt base-layer mixture was produced in the plant from reclaimed asphalt, natural aggregate, filler for the cold mix, and the modified emulsion AP using asphalt mix design and plant mix design. In order to examine the applicability of the curing period during the field test, the international standards for the possibility of core extraction and the degree of compaction and LFWD deflection were analyzed. Moreover, Marshall stability test, porosity test, and indirect tensile strength test were performed on the specimens of asphalt mix and plant mix design. RESULTS : The plant production process and compaction method of cementless cold central plant recycled asphalt base-layer were established, and the applicability of the optical moisture content for producing the mixture was verified through the field test. In addition, it was determined that the core extraction method of the conventional international curing standard was insufficient to ensure performance, and the LFWD test demonstrated that the deflection converges after a two-day curing. However, the back-calculation analysis reveals that a three-day curing is satisfactory, resulting in a general level of performance of dense asphalt base-layer. Moreover, from the result of the specimen quality test of the asphalt mix design and plant mix design according to the curing period, it was determined that the qualities satisfied both domestic and international standards, after a two-day curing. However, it was determined that the strength and stiffness after three-day curing are higher than those after a two-day curing by approximately 3.5 % and 20 %, respectively. CONCLUSIONS:A three-day curing period is proposed for the cementless cold central plant recycled asphalt base-layer; this curing period can be demonstrated to retain the modulus of asphalt-base layer in the field and ensure stable quality characteristics.

  • This study selected a method which uses high early strength cement as a way to reduce the curing time and curing energy source of concrete secondary products and reviewed the improvement in the initial strength of concrete secondary products setting the target strength of the concrete capable of removing the form to 15MPa and the curing time to 6 hours. As a result of the test, the only specimen which achieved the form removal strength of 15 MPa only through atmospheric curing within the target curing time of 6hours was ACC-100, and the specimens of TRC-100 and TRC-50 satisfied the values of 6 hours and 15MPa through steam curing. However, we could see that it was difficult to secure workability in the case of the specimen of ACC-100 due to its high rapid setting property and a retarder such as anhydrous citric acid was required to be used to improve the workability. When we look into the pattern following changes in the water to binder ratio, while, in the case of stream curing, OPC-100, TRC-100, and TRC-50 were all found to satisfy achievement of the form removal strength within 6hours as the water to binder ratio decreased, in the case of atmospheric curing, TRC-100, and TRC-50 achieved 15MPa within 12hours.

  • Purpose: To evaluate marginal leakage of bulk fill flowable composite resin filling with different curing time by using microcomputed tomography technology. Materials and Methods: 30 previously extracted human molars were randomly divided into 6 groups based upon restorative system and different curing time. Class II cavities (vertical slot cavities) were prepared. An individual metallic matrix was used to build up the proximal wall. The SonicFill or SureFil SDR flow was inserted into the preparation by using 1 bulk increment, followed by light polymerization for different curing times. The different exposure times were 20, 40, and 60 seconds. All specimens were submitted to 5,000 thermal cycles for artificial aging. Micro-CT scanning was performed by using SkyScan 1272. One evaluator assessed microleakage of silver nitrated solution at the resin-dentin interface. The 3D image of each leakage around the restoration was reconstructed with CT-Analyser V.1.14.4. The leakage was analyzed with the Mann-Whitney test. Results: Significant differences were observed between the light curing times, but no significant differences were found between the bulk fill composite resins. Increasing in the photoactivation time resulted in greater microleakage in all the experimental groups. Those subjected to 60 seconds of light curing showed higher microleakage means than those exposed for 20 seconds and 40 seconds. Conclusion: Increasing the photoactivation time is factor that may increase marginal microlekage of the bulk fill composite resins. Further, micro-CT can nondestructively detect leakage around the resin composite restoration in three dimensions.

  • To realize stable use of ground treated with cementitious materials, the curing process must be evaluated. In this study, a time domain reflectometry (TDR) measurement system was employed to evaluate the curing process of cementitious grout based on the electromagnetic property. A coated probe was manufactured to prevent electrical connection between the electrodes by the electrically conductive cementitious grout, and a calibration process was performed to estimate the actual relative permittivity using the coated probe. To assess the curing process of cementitious grout using the TDR measurement system, cementitious grout with added retarder was prepared with a water-to-cement ratio of 45%. A preliminary measurement was conducted immediately after pouring the cementitious grout into the mold to test the applicability of the coated probe, and TDR signals and relative permittivity were measured at 3~288 hours of curing time. The experimental results demonstrate that the relative permittivity of the cementitious grout immediately after pouring was greater than 100, decreased rapidly over time, and converged to approximately 13.8 at 144 hours, which is considered the fully cured time. This findings of this study demonstrate that the TDR measurement system with a coated probe is applicable to electrically conductive materials. In addition, the TDR measurement system can be used effectively to monitor the curing process of cementitious grout based on electromagnetic properties.

  • The Korean Dendropanax lacquer, made from a natural resinous sap from Dendropanax orbifera Lev., was used as a golden and transparent varnish for the traditional artifacts (armor uits, helmets, arrowheads, etc.) to make them be brilliant golden color. The cured film of the acquer has excellent protective properties such as weatherability, water resistance, and nticorrosive. But, one of disadvantages is that takes a long time and much energy to fulfill curing the lacquer. The chemical constituents of the lacquer contained conjugated diene compounds s the photopolymerizable monomers. These monomers easily polymerized in sunlight to form olden-colored, hard-coating films in a short time. Photooxidation may be one of the most mportant reactions in the chemistry of the lacquer. Although the Korean Dendropanax Lacquer hould be dried to a thoroughly dry stage to achieve optimal film properties, curing with elevated emperatures may be required for the protracted curing time at atmospheric temperature. So we ntended to accelerate the curing rate of the lacquer by dual curing of thermal and radiation uring. The effect of thermal initiator on the thermal curing reaction was evaluated by monitoring he changes in double bond peak with FT-IR. Then the curing rate of the lacquer blended with hermal initiator and photoinitiator together was measured during dual curing using a RPT with V spot curing machine. Thermal initiator not only accelerated the curing rate but also improved he physical property. And the curing rate of the Korean Dendropanax lacquer was improved by ual curing method of thermal and UV curing. According to these results, the application area of he Korean Dendropanax lacquer could be expanded to surface coatings for electronic devices uch as mobile phones or electronics.

  • This paper presents a method of estimating the setting time of cement mortar incorporating recycled aggregate powder (RP) and cement kiln dust (CKD) at various curing temperatures by applying an equivalent age method. To estimate setting time, the equivalent age using apparent activation energy (Ea) was applied. Increasing RP and CKD leads to a shortened initial and final set. Ea at the initial set and final set obtained by Arrhenius function showed differences in response to mixture type. These were estimated to be from 10~19 KJ/mol in all mixtures, which is smaller than those of conventional mixture ranging from 30~50 KJ/mol. Based on the application of Ea to Freisleben Hansen and Pederson's equivalent age function, equivalent age is nearly constant, regardless of curing temperature and RP contents. This implies that the concept of maturity is applicable in estimating the setting time of concrete containing RP and CKD. A high correlation was observed between estimated setting time and measured setting time. A multiregression model was provided to determine setting time reflecting RP and CKD. Thus, the setting time estimation method studied herein can be applicable to concrete incorporating RP and CKD in the construction field.
