A Study on Dental Hygiene Students' Consciousness about Course Education and their Occupation (치위생과 학생들의 전공교육 및 직업관에 대한 의식 조사 연구)

  • For the purpose of strengthening Dental Hygiene students' confidence and motivation in the Dental Hygiene Department and helping construct proper professionalism, survey on Dental Hygiene students' consciousness of attitude to and satisfaction of the course, career plan and occupation mind set was carried out. 530 three year students in 8 Dental Hygiene academies in Seoul and Kyonggi province were questioned. The results of the survery are as follows:. 1. Dental Hygiene students' motives consisted primarily of employment and a desire for professionalism 25% of them entered the course after one failure in the entrance examination and 17% had family members engaging in the dentistry field 84%, the largest portion, were from an academic high school. 24% had some knowledge of Dental Hygiene, which they had acquired from seniors, friends, and teachers. 2. Patient care and treatment assistance related matters were not considered important in the course. The weak points of the course turned out to be education in computers and foreign languages, but the weakest was the ability of patient care during clinical training. 53% had experiences had thought of changing their major while in the course because it didn't match their aptitude and interest. 3. As for a career after graduation, 49% worried about it Most students wanted to work at a dental hospital or general hospital, The most favored duty was coordination or reception or oral disease preventive work. They wanted to work untill they had a stable living. 68% answered they would get a job at an oral clinic and 70% said they would continue studying for self-realization. 4. Satisfaction with the major was high in students whose aptitude and interest matched the course, who had background knowledge of the major, and who. didn't think of changing the major but would continue studying resulting in statistically slight difference(p<0.001). As to satisfaction with the faculties, it was high in the students whose aptitude and interest matched the major and who didn't think about a career after graduation showing a slight difference(p<05, p<0l). As for satisfaction with clinical training, students whose aptitude and interest matched the major and who didn't consider changing the major answered positively showing a statistically slight difference(p<.001, p<.01). As to satisfaction with the course, it was high in the students who entered with aptitude and interest, who had preliminary knowledge, who didn't consider changing the major, and who didn't think about a career after graduation showing a statistically slight difference(p<.001, p<.05). 5. Occupation mind-set was positive for students who entered with interest and aptitude, who had preliminary knowledge, and who had not considered changing the major showing a statistically slight difference(P<.001). The higher the satisfaction with the major, faculty and clinical training was, the more positive the occupation mind-set was(p<.001).

Satisfaction on the practical training of public institution's staffs in cyber oral health service (공공기관 근무자의 사이버 구강보건사업실무과정 교육에 대한 만족도)

  • Objectives : This thesis aims to provide basic materials for exploring trends and operational strategy of the cyber training. To achieve study purpose, it analyzed the satisfaction of trainees in regard to the education of field training course of Cyber Oral Health Promotion Program, established and operated between 2007 and 2009. Methods : This study conducted questionnaire surveys after the completion of training to utilize the satisfaction level of 989 respondents among 1,310 employees of public institutions who completed the field training course of Cyber Oral Health Promotion Program. Results : Respondents showed satisfaction on the training course throughout three years in terms of satisfaction of instructional methods (screen characteristics, educational techniques, and so on) according to educational contents, the connection and realization of online education and service satisfaction, necessary for learning in association with educational guidance, offered to learners by a tutor and rapidity in questions and answers. A majority of respondents in all years answered that they participated in training program voluntarily for self-development and improvement in work ability, and they thought that the completion of course would be helpful to their current work and future work. In addition, cyber training program was primarily conducted in the working place by 72.5%, and the most difficult thing in cyber training was to combine work and learning by 60.6%. Conclusions : As shown in the results above, workers in public institutions were satisfied with cyber job training and it was evaluated that cyber job training would be helpful to performing their actual work. Therefore, it is needed to collect and evaluate more diverse requirements of trainees with regard to cyber job training, and the development and operation of job training program that reflects these results sufficiently is required.

A Study on the Factors Influencing the Learning Satisfaction of Records Management Cyber Education (기록물 사이버교육의 학습만족도 향상을 위한 영향 요인 연구)

  • This study aims to investigate the factors influencing the learning satisfaction of records management cyber education that is opened and operated by the National Archives of Korea, as well as to improve the quality of cyber education program. Cyber education consisted of an introductory course, an intensive course, and a liberal arts course. As the major factors for learning satisfaction, "validity of content structure, interaction between professors and learners, learning motivation, active learning attitude, ease of use environment, and level of organizational support" were set. An online survey was conducted on the learning satisfaction according to the curriculum of each course. The survey was conducted to 107 institutions with specialized records management personnel, and additional in-depth interviews were also conducted. The survey analysis consisted of factor analysis, independent sample T-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. As a result of the study, the factors influencing learning satisfaction were found in the order of interaction between professors and learners, learning motivation, and validity of content structure.

A Study on the Educational Conditions and Student Satisfaction of a Foodstylist (전문대학의 푸드스타일리스트과의 교육형태와 학습자 만족도에 관한 고찰)

  • This study was designed to examine the educational conditions of a foodstylist and student satisfaction with the training. It looked at the educational conditions of the food-stylist department, one of relatively newly-emerging departments, and examined student satisfaction by each factor in order to have specific problem in the educational conditions. The purpose of this study was to maintain higher student satisfaction and to have competitive advantage over the other related departments. For the general information of respondents, most respondents said the monthly average income to be approximately 1.5 times higher than that of common workers in the country, showing that the food-stylist department is preferred by the class with economic ability. For admission motives, respondents used the information via mass communication when they choose it For general educational conditions, students have most satisfaction with the originality of department, at the score of 3.79, following by laboratory and vision in the order. The least satisfaction was in career guidance, reflecting that they have vague ideas where to work. For the theoretical course of study, it was found that ‘Introduction to Table Coordination’ had the highest satisfaction, 3.82, following by ‘Coloring’ and ‘Understanding on Oriental and Occidental Tablewares’ in the order. ‘Food and Beverage Service’ and ‘Public Health’ were found to have the least satisfaction, showing that those subjects do not cause any interest in terms of their property. For the satisfaction of practical training course, it was found ‘Cocktail Practices’, ‘Bakery and Confectionary Practices’, and ‘Understanding of Wines’ in the order, showing that practical subjects with high visuality have higher satisfaction. Further studies are necessary to examine the satisfaction with subjects from various classes, together with many course of study, and to develop statistical data that help us understand the needs of students more correctly for application.

A Study on the Possibility of Cyber Art Education : Focusing on a Drawing Course (사이버 미술교육의 가능성 연구 : 드로잉 수업을 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted to examine the possibility of developing a drawing course in online education and to assess the satisfaction and dissatisfaction of students. The drawing class consisted of a conceptual understanding of the drawing, learning actual techniques and performing drawing tasks. This course was rated on the content satisfaction scale and the course evaluation scale when it was developed in 2014 and partially modified in 2016. Both the content satisfaction and lecture evaluation showed similar scores to the average for all subjects in the school. Specifically, 'organization of content' received good reviews, while 'interaction' received a low rating in the content satisfaction scale. Additionally, 'enthusiasm' and 'response sincerity of teacher' received high ratings, but 'overall satisfaction' was low in the course evaluation scale. Finally, the self-assessment of students was also low. These results indicate that students want more practice and more active interactions.

A Study of Educational Performance Utilizing Project-Based Learning: Focused on the 3P Model (프로젝트 기반 학습의 성과 영향 변인 규명 연구: 3P모형을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to identify the structural relationship between mastery-approach goal orientation, instructor support, problem solving, collaborative skills, and course satisfaction among students who participated in project-based learning. To achieve the purpose of this research, researchers have conducted surveys between June and December in 2019. A total of 283 cases were selected for analysis. According to the study, mastery-approach goal orientation and instructor support have positive effects on problem solving and course satisfaction. Instructor support has positive effects on collaboration skills, and problem solving has positive effects on collaboration skills and course satisfaction. Also, the mediating effect of problem solving in the relationship among mastery-approach goal orientation, instructor support, collaboration skills, and course satisfaction was found to be statistically significant. However, the path between mastery-approach goal orientation and collaboration skills was not statistically significant. Based on these findings, academic and practical implications were suggested.

A Study on Self Leadership, Maturity of Career Attitude and Major Satisfaction in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 셀프리더십 및 진로태도성숙, 전공만족도에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose : This study examines the relationship among nursing students' self-leadership, the maturity of their career attitudes, and satisfaction with their studies to investigate these elements' impact on nursing students' satisfaction with their major course of study. Methods : A total of 236 students enrolled in the College of Nursing were identified as potential research subjects. The study was conducted between October 1 and November 2, 2017. A structured questionnaire was used to investigate the students' self-leadership, the maturity of their career attitudes, and satisfaction with their major course of study. SPSS for Windows 20.0 was used for statistical analyses. Results : The study's results found an average score for self-leadership among nursing students was 3.61 out of 5, their average score for career attitude maturity was 3.14 out of 5, and the their average score for career attitude maturity was 3.14 out of 5, and the average satisfaction level was 3.79 out of 5. These results indicate that the students' levels of satisfaction with the major are higher when their levels of self-motivation are stronger. In addition, the motivation for application, self-motivation, and satisfaction with academic subjects had an influence on their satisfaction with the major, where the explanatory power was 32.7 %. Conclusion : Based on these results, the development of self-motivation and a curriculum that can improve students' satisfaction with their academic subjects is necessary to enhance nursing students' satisfaction with their major course of study.

A Study on HIgh School Girls’s Recognition and Application of Home Economics Course (여고생의 가정교과에 대한 인식 및 학습 내용의 활용도에 관한 조사연구)

  • The purpose of this study is 1) to find out the general tendency of high school girls’recognition and application of Home Economics course 2) to find out the variables influencing on the recognition and application of Home Economics Course 3) to find out the relationship between recognition and application of Home Economics Course. The subjects of this study were 639 high school girls of third grade in Chunnam province including Ko-heung Kun. The questionaire was used as a methological instrument. The statistics used for data analysis were x$^2$-test, T-test and F-test. The major findings were as follows. 1. The general tendency about recognition and application of Home Economics Course. A third of 639 subjects answered that Home Economics Course was helpful for their livers. 45.1% of the subjects felt that Home Economics Course was eaiers to study than the other courses required in High school. 31.9% of the subjects liked Home Economics Course while 11.9% of subjects disliked it. 79.7% of the subjects wanted more practical studies and practices than theoretical studies in class of Home Econmics Course. The degree of application of Home Economics Course was low level; average score was 19.6 out of 30 points. 2. Variables related to the recognition and application of Home Economics Course. Variables influencing on the recognition toward Home Economics Course were the degree of helping housework, the degree of happiness as a female, and the degree of satisfaction with home life. The higher the level of income, happiness as a female and the satisfaction with home life, the higher the application score of Home Economics Course. 3. Relationship between recognition and application of Home Economics Course. There was a positive relationship between recognition and application of Home Economics Course. Students who showed affirmative responses to Home Economics Course, their application scores of home Economics Course were higher than those of students who showed negative responses.

The Relationship between Stress and Leisure Satisfaction of College Student Athletes (대학 운동부 학생들의 스트레스와 여가만족과의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between stress and leisure satisfaction of college student athletes. The participants comprised 140 of the college student athletes. The measures were composed of stress inventory and leisure satisfaction scale. The data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0 Version frequency analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were performed. The level of significance was set up .05. The results were as follows: First, according to college, there was significant difference in economic burden, environmental condition, and course factor. Second, in regard with multiple regression analysis on relationships between the stress and leisure satisfaction of the college student athletes, discriminative evaluation, environmental condition, and course factor had positive effect on leisure satisfaction.

Clinical Practice Performance According to Type of Practices and Satisfaction of Clinical Practice in Students at Child Health Nursing (아동간호실습 운영형태에 따른 간호학생의 임상실습수행도 및 실습만족도)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to explore clinical practice performance according to type of practice in students in pediatric nursing and the relationship with satisfaction of clinical practice. Methods: The subjects consisted of 531 nursing students (307 at a pediatric ward and 224 at a nursery) from 5 colleges of nursing. Data collected from March to June 2012 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, AVONA and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: Clinical practice performance on direct nursing activity was significantly different according to the course on pediatric nursing, grade point average, and satisfaction of nursing major. Observation practice was different according to type of college, the course on pediatric nursing, grade point average, duration of practice and clinical educator in the pediatric ward. In the nursery, direct nursing activity was significantly different according to the type of college, the course on pediatric nursing, hospital type, and duration of practice. Observation practice was different according to type of college, satisfaction of a nursing major, and the clinical educator. In addition, significant correlations were found between clinical practice performance and satisfaction of clinical practice. Conclusion: Our research can assist effective pediatric nursing practice planning for nursing students.
