  • This study was conducted to perform the suitability analysis of whole-crop rye (Secale cereale L.) based on the climatic information in the Republic of Korea to present useful information for producers and policy makers to determine the site-selection for the cultivation of the whole-crop rye. The criteria to analyze the climatic suitability of whole-crop rye was developed firstly. Then, the climatic suitability map for spatial analysis was developed through weighted overlaying the raster layers of climatic items in the evaluation criteria. Meanwhile, 16 geographically representative weather stations were selected to show examples of the calculation process of the climatic suitability score of a specific cultivation area. The results of the climatic suitability mapping indicated that the climatic conditions in most arable lands of the Republic of Korea such as the coastal, southern, western areas in the southern region of the Korean Peninsula and central areas in Jeju Island are suitable for the cultivation of whole-crop rye. The climatic suitability scores of the 16 weather stations were all in line with the results of the climatic suitability map.

  • In manufacturing companies that focus on small-scale production of multiple product varieties, defective products are manually selected by workers rather than relying on automated inspection. Consequently, there is a higher risk of incorrect sorting due to variations in selection criteria based on the workers' experience and expertise, without consistent standards. Moreover, for non-standardized flexible objects with varying sizes and shapes, there can be even greater deviations in the selection criteria. To address these issues, this paper designs a quality inspection system using artificial intelligence-based unsupervised learning methods and conducts research by experimenting with accuracy using a dataset obtained from real manufacturing environments.

  • For STEM education science teachers usually choose topics which are related to both science and other disciplinary contents. Nevertheless it is not clear for the teachers to adopt what kind of criteria for their choices. Interdisciplinary teaching is not a mixture of science content with another one from different disciplines as resources for the content teaching. Instead the criteria and perspectives for the integration need to be clearly defined. In this study we investigated how to integrate science and other disciplines in terms of interdisciplinary teaching. Family resemblance approach by Wittgenstein, recently revised by Erduran and Dagher, was applied to comparative analysis of science, math, and physical education curriculum documents in Korea. Aim and value, methodological rules and methods, knowledge, and activities in each discipline were compared and analyzed with the view of FRA. Results of the study described alternative criteria of how to find appropriate topics for interdisciplinary teaching.

  • In domestic and international, evaluation of product with Common Criteria(CC) for security product estimation is expanding standard of product estimation. This expansion is due to multi aspects of product versions. However, it is very difficult to approach the most suitable form of security estimation guide in the developer's perspective, because estimation basis presented to developers is indefinite. With this pending dilemma, we are presenting a composition product introduce definite security standard for information security products.

  • This paper specifies several considerations about assessing safety-critical software in the aerospace domain. In order to evaluate safety critical software in the aerospace industry, it is required to identify an information of evaluation criteria of software under evaluation. The information is specified in the standard, but determination of evaluation criteria cannot be decided by itself and depends on the results of safety assessment of a system and system design. Thus, this paper explains required information of system development standard and safety assessment standard to determine software evaluation criteria. It surveys existing methodologies about evaluating software, and suggests method which is adapted to evaluation of an advanced surface movement guidance and control system (A-SMGCS) software.

  • In this paper weak and strong convergence theorems of modified Noor iterations to fixed points for asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in the intermediate sense in Banach spaces are established. In one theorem where we establish strong convergence we assume an additional property of the operator whereas in another theorem where we establish weak convergence assume an additional property of the space.

  • We present a new local as well as a semilocal convergence analysis for Steffensen's method in order to locate fixed points of operators on a Banach space setting. Using more precise majorizing sequences we show under the same or less computational cost that our convergence criteria can be weaker than in earlier studies such as [1-13], [21, 22]. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the theoretical results.

  • In this paper, we point out some errors in a recent paper by Cordero and Torregrosa [7]. We prove the convergence of the variants of Newton's method for solving the system of nonlinear equations using two different approaches. Several examples are given, which illustrate the cubic convergence of these methods and verify the theoretical results.

  • This paper proposes new criteria to fix hidden neuron in Multilayer Perceptron Networks for wind speed prediction in renewable energy systems. To fix hidden neurons, 101 various criteria are examined based on the estimated mean squared error. The results show that proposed approach performs better in terms of testing mean squared errors. The convergence analysis is performed for the various proposed criteria. Mean squared error is used as an indicator for fixing neuron in hidden layer. The proposed criteria find solution to fix hidden neuron in neural networks. This approach is effective, accurate with minimal error than other approaches. The significance of increasing the number of hidden neurons in multilayer perceptron network is also analyzed using these criteria. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, simulations were conducted on real time wind data. Simulations infer that with minimum mean squared error the proposed approach can be used for wind speed prediction in renewable energy systems.

  • In this paper we establish the equivalence between the general resolvent equations and variational inequalities. This equiva-lence is used to suggest and analyze a number of iterative algorithms for solving variational inclusions. We also study the convergence criteria of the iterative algorithms. Our results include several pre-viously known results as special cases.
