Development and Application of an Artificial Intelligence Convergence Education Program Linked to School Library Reading Activities for Middle School Students (중학생을 위한 학교도서관의 독서활동 연계 인공지능 융합교육 프로그램의 개발과 적용)

  • Recently, there has been a growing demand for school libraries to take on the role of curriculum convergence and content development. This study purposed to develop a program that integrates reading activities and artificial intelligence (AI) education in a middle school library as a platform for convergence education. The program aimed to enhance creative problem-solving skills by integrating an understanding of AI concepts and principles through reading activities related to AI topics. The program, comprising 18 sessions (6 modules), was implemented with 36 first-year students at A Middle School, Gyeonggi-do, in 2022. After implementation, a paired-sample t-test revealed significant improvements in AI learning self-efficacy and creative problem-solving skills. Participants also showed positive attitudes toward class engagement and reading activities. Implications for AI convergence education in connection with school libraries were discussed.

  • This study analyzed the effect of CSR activities on SME's depending on the degree of risk perception of business environment. We first classify the analysis target SEM's into two groups according to the degree of risk perception, and to examine whether there is any difference in the effect of CSR activities through latent mean analysis. Findings revealed that at First, CSR activities has a significantly positive effect on the improvement of management performance. Also, risk perceptions motives affect positively on CSR activities, the high risk perceptions group was noted to be strongly the effect of CSR activities.

Convergence Effect of Virtual Reality Program on Activities of Daily Living Ability in Stroke Patients : Meta-Analysis (가상현실 프로그램이 뇌졸중 환자의 일상생활활동 능력에 미치는 융합적 효과 : 메타분석)

  • This study was designed to test the convergence effectiveness of virtual reality programs for patients with stroke by using meta-analysis. Based on the PICOS criteria, we searched domestic literature and selected the final 9 studies in relation to 'stroke' and 'virtual reality programs'. Evaluation of the risk of bias in individual studies was conducted using evaluation tools according to the design of each study. The effect size of the meta-analysis was calculated using CMA program. The mediating effect analysis was conducted by sub-group analysis and meta-regression analysis. The overall effect size of the virtual reality program on the activities of daily living ability was Hedges's g=0.302(95% CI: 0.064~0.540), Therefore, virtual reality programs can increase the activities of daily living in stroke patients and have a positive impact on the medical industry that the convergence of virtual reality industry and healthcare industry.

  • The purpose of this study is to consider the effect of the Culture and Education Activities on the psychological well-being Convergence Formation of the Elderly. This study is based on the quantitative research of 255 older adults who have participated on the Culture and Education Activities programs run by welfare center and culture center for the elderly at Seoul area. The results are as follows. First, social Goal-Oriented and Activities-Oriented have effect on Life- Satisfaction. Second, Activities-Oriented and Learning-Oriented has effect on Self-Efficacy. Third, Activities-Oriented and Learning-Oriented has effect on Participation-Attitude. Fourth, but relations of the Learning-Oriented and Life-Satisfaction, Goal-Oriented and Self-Efficacy, Goal-Oriented and Participation-Attitude were independent of each other. This study can be use to propose policies related to the elderly welfare promotion.

A Study on the Safety Perception, Ethical Awareness, and Safety Activities of Nursing Students

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the level of safety perception, ethical awareness, and safety activities of nursing students for patients, and to identify the correlation and impact between them. The research design is a descriptive survey study, and the subject of the study were 197 nursing college students in G City. Safety perception, ethical awareness, and safety activity tools were used for, and the data collection period was from October 17 to 28 in 2022. T-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Regression analysis were used to analyze data. The result of the study indicated that the average level of safety perception of nursing students was 3.72 points, the average ethical awareness of patients, professional work, and cooperators perceived by nursing students was 3.04 points, and the safety activities of nursing students were 4.20 points. In the case of safety awareness and ethics awareness, r=.327, a significant positive correlation, in the case of safety awareness and safety activities, r=.399, significant positive correlation, ethics awareness and safety activities as r=.296. And so on these results showed that high safety perception increases safety activities, and high ethical awareness increases safety activities. Therefore, we need practical and step-by-step convergence education to equip nursing students with patient safety nursing capabilities. To this end, a safer environment will be created if the social support network for the systematic application of safety education is well formed.

Enhanced DPPH Radical Scavenging Activity of Lactobacillus plantarum K-21 Isolated from Kimchi and its Various Antioxidant Effects (김치유래 Lactobacillus plantarum K-21의 DPPH 라디칼 제거활성 증진 및 다양한 항산화 효과)

  • Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) are among the representative probiotics that have been used for a long time in fermented food. Although there are many studies on detecting the radical scavenging activity of LAB, few studies have been conducted on the environmental factors that improve scavenging activity. This study investigated the environmental factors affecting the DPPH radical scavenging and various antioxidant activities of Kimchi-derived Lactobacillus plantarum K-21 with antihypertensive and radical scavenging activities. The optimal conditions for scavenging DPPH radicals were glucose 2%, bactopeptone 0.5%, Tween 80 0.05%, L-cysteine 0.05%, and an initial pH 6.5 at 35℃. Under optimal conditions, the DPPH radical scavenging activity was 94.8±2.2%, which was 1.5 times higher than that of the basic medium. In addition, L. plantarum K-21 had other antioxidant activities; ABTS radical scavenging (93.6±1.5%), hydroxyl radical scavenging (8.5±0.9%), metal chelating (65.9±0.5%), NO scavenging (53.1±19%), SOD-like (25.1±1.5%), and reducing power (11.7±1.4%) activities were detected. Therefore, L. plantarum K-21 may act not only as a starter for lactic acid-fermented foods with improved functionality but also as a drug for various diseases caused by oxidative stress.

Quality Evaluation of Cheongpomuk Added with Chlorella Powder

  • This study examined the quality characteristics to evaluate the optimal mixing ratio of a chlorella powder in Cheongpomuk. The total polyphenol and total flavonoids contents of Cheongpomuk and chlorella powder was 279.90 ㎍/mL, 489.50 ㎍/mL and 48.79 ㎍/mL, 687.85 ㎍/mL respectively. The DPPH free radical scavenging activities and ABTS radical scavenging activities of chlorella powder was 65.39%, 91.28% respectively. The L values (58.85~26.23), a values (-0.44~-5.84) of the Hunter's color values decreased and b value (-10.98 ~4.12) increased significantly in proportion to the amount of chlorella powder. The total polyphenol contents (55.00~734.20 ㎍/mL), total flavonoids contents (41.00~88.29 ㎍/mL), DPPH free radical scavenging activities (35.10~65.50%) and ABTS radical scavenging activities (50.29~92.86%) of Cheongpomuk increased significantly in groups of chlorella powder. In the physical properties, the hardness (135.93~103.93 g/㎠), chewiness (6.76~3.76 g), springiness (4.92~4.36 %), and gumminess (147.70~94.23) of Cheongpomuk decreased significantly in proportion to the amount of chlorella powder. The Cheongpomuk containing 15% chlorella powder showed a high score with regard to color, flavor, moistness, chewiness and overall acceptance. The appropriate addition amount of chlorella powder for making Cheongpomuk is 15%. This study indicate that Cheongpomuk treated with chlorella powder had the highest functional component and antioxidant activity.

  • The purpose of the research was to investigate the effects of the learning organization building activities on organization citizenship behavior(OCB) in business service companies providing the convergence service for the manufacturers and the moderating role of perceived organization support(POS) between the learning organization building activities and organization citizenship behavior. The data were collected from 327 employees of 31 business Service companies in metropolitan area by using structured questionnaires. Hierarchical regression technique was employed to analyze the collected data. The results showed that both of the seven learning organization building activities and POS had a positive effect on employees' OCB. Moreover, also found out the only one out of the seven learning organization building factors, namely 'Strategic Learning Leadership' had the moderate roles between learning organization building activities and OCB. Then, The results and implications of the study were discussed and the directions for future study were presented.

The Relationships among Happiness, Happiness promotion activities and Self-reflection in the Convergence Society (융복합 사회에서 간호학과 학생의 행복감, 행복감 증진활동 및 자기성찰의 관계)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the relationship of happiness, happiness promoting activities and self-reflection. Need of happiness is as important as right of life and freedom in the convergence society and heating up according to appearance of positive psychology. Subjects were 366 nursing students. Data were collected Oct. 2-8(2014), and analyzed using t-test/ANOVA and correlation by SPSS. Self-reflection showed statistically significant differences according to grade, and experience of practice. Happiness and happiness promotion activities showed statistically significant difference according to economic state. Happiness promotion activities were positively correlated with self-reflection and happiness. The factors affecting happiness were happiness promotion, economic state, and self-reflection which accounted for 26.3%. Repeated research which include various variables of happiness and self-reflection is needed, and suggest qualitative research about happiness.

An Exploration of IT Convergence Methods for School Forests Education (초, 중등 학교 숲 활용 교육을 위한 IT 융합 방안 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore educational methods for elementary, middle and high schools using school forests via IT convergence. To this aim, we reviewed the previous literature on education using school forests to identify the problems with the existing education using school forests, and conducted interviews with experts to analyze the demands. we proposed an educational method that can utilize the school forests via IT convergence, and explored its validity through content reviews conducted by experts. The findings of this study are as follows. First, we proposed the IT convergence instruction focused on hands-on activities on top of the existing educational contents. Second, we proposed IT convergence instruction that incorporates diverse materials, physical computing tools, and programming tools. Third, we presented methods for utilizing such IT convergence instruction in connection with various elements of the 2015 Revised Curriculum as well as with various other activities such as middle school free semester activities and after-school activities. The school forest is a crucial learning space for the areas related to agriculture and biotechnology. Thus, we anticipate that the IT convergence instruction proposed in this study will lead to the re-discovery and re-evaluation of a value of school forests as an educational space that contributes to fulfilling the objective of the 2015 Revised Curriculum to nurture creative convergent talent.
