  • 최근 차량용 네트워크 시스템으로 사용되고 있는 CAN(Controller Area Network)은 많은 ECU들이 필요한 미래형 스마트차량에 적합한 네트워크 프로토콜로서 안정성과 신뢰성을 보장해주며, 많은 ECU들의 장착으로 Wiring Harness의 공간과 중량이 늘어남으로 인해 발생되는 에너지 소비와 비용의 증가를 대폭 줄일 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 논문에서는 CAN프로토콜을 이용하여 미래형 스마트 자동차에 요구되는 편의주행, 쾌적주행을 위해 Air conditioner 와 Heater를 제어하여 차량 내부 온도를 운전자의 요구에 맞도록 자동으로 제어할 수 있는 시스템을 구현하고자 한다.

CAN을 이용한 발전계통의 제어 및 모니터링 기법 연구 (A Study on the Power System Control and Monitoring Technique Using CAN)

  • In this paper, we present a new control and monitoring technique for a power system using CAN(Controller Area Network). Feedback control systems having co'ntrol loops closed through a network(i.e. Ethernet, ControlNet, CAN) are called NCSs(Networked Control Systems). The major problem of NCSs is the variation of stability property according to time delay including network-induced delay and computation delay in nodes. We present a new stability analysis method of NCSs with time delay exploiting a state-space model of LTI(Linear Time Invariant) interconnected systems. The proposed method can determine a proper sampling period of NCSs that preserves stability performance even in NCSs with a dynamic controller. We design CAN nodes which can transmit control and monitoring data through CAN bus and apply these to NCSs for a power system. The results of the experiment validate effectiveness of our control and monitoring technique for a power system.

Net-HILS를 이용한 네트워크기반 구동력제어시스템 개발 및 성능평가에 관한 연구 (Development of Network-based Traction Control System and Study its on Performance Evaluation using Net-HILS)

  • This paper presents a network-based traction control system(TCS), where several electric control units (ECUs) are connected by a controller area network(CAN) communication system. The control system consists of four ECUs: the electricthrottle controller, the transmission controller, the engine controller and the traction controller. In order to validate the traction control algorithm of the network-based TCS and evaluate its performance, a Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation(HILS) environment was developed. Herein we propose a new concept of the HILS environment called the network-based HILS(Net-HILS) for the development and validation of network-based control systems which include smart sensors or actuators. In this study, we report that we have designed a network-based TCS, validated its algorithm and evaluated its performance using Net-HILS.

Remote Monitoring with Hierarchical Network Architectures for Large-Scale Wind Power Farms

  • As wind power farm (WPF) installations continue to grow, monitoring and controlling large-scale WPFs presents new challenges. In this paper, a hierarchical network architecture is proposed in order to provide remote monitoring and control of large-scale WPFs. The network architecture consists of three levels, including the WPF comprised of wind turbines and meteorological towers, local control center (LCC) responsible for remote monitoring and control of wind turbines, and a central control center (CCC) that offers data collection and aggregation of many WPFs. Different scenarios are considered in order to evaluate the performance of the WPF communications network with its hierarchical architecture. The communications network within the WPF is regarded as the local area network (LAN) while the communication among the LCCs and the CCC happens through a wide area network (WAN). We develop a communications network model based on an OPNET modeler, and the network performance is evaluated with respect to the link bandwidth and the end-to-end delay measured for various applications. As a result, this work contributes to the design of communications networks for large-scale WPFs.

CAN 시간동기를 이용한 복수 전동기 동기제어 (Synchronization Control of Multiple Motors using CAN Clock Synchronization)

  • This paper is concerned with multiple motor control using a distributed network control method. Speed and position of multiple motors are synchronized using clock synchronized distributed controllers. CAN (controller area network) is used and a new clock synchronization algorithm is proposed and implemented. To verify the proposed control algorithm, two disks which are attached on two motor shafts are controlled to rotate at the same speed and phase angle with the same time base using network clocks.

  • 본 논문에서는 산업용 필드 버스 프로토콜 중 신호적으로 가장 안정하다고 알려져 있는 CAN(Controller Area Network) 프로토콜을 이용하여 자동차용 전동 거울의 멀티플렉싱 제어 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 하나의 마스터 컨트롤러와 입/출력을 각각 담당하는 2개의 슬레이브 컨트롤러를 설계하여 구현하고(H/W), 이러한 각 서브 시스템 들의 효과적인 동작과 통신을 위한 Application Layer를 구현(S/W)하였다. 구현된 전체 시스템은 실제 자동차용 전동 거울에 장착하여 실험함으로써 최소한의 전장 요소들만으로 효과적인 시스템의 운용 및 제어가 가능함을 보이고자 한다.

제어 네트워크 경계에 대한 OT-IT 책임 역할 연구 (Study on the Security R&R of OT-IT for Control System Network Boundaries)

  • In recent years, due to the demand for operating efficiency and cost reduction of industrial facilities, remote access via the Internet is expanding. the control network accelerates from network separation to network connection due to the development of IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) technology. Transition of control network is a new opportunity, but concerns about cybersecurity are also growing. Therefore, manufacturers must reflect security compliance and standards in consideration of the Internet connection environment, and enterprises must newly recognize the connection area of the control network as a security management target. In this study, the core target of the control system security threat is defined as the network boundary, and issues regarding the security architecture configuration for the boundary and the role & responsibility of the working organization are covered. Enterprises do not integrate the design organization with the operation organization after go-live, and are not consistently reflecting security considerations from design to operation. At this point, the expansion of the control network is a big transition that calls for the establishment of a responsible organization and reinforcement of the role of the network boundary area where there is a concern about lack of management. Thus, through the organization of the facility network and the analysis of the roles between each organization, an static perspective and difference in perception were derived. In addition, standards and guidelines required for reinforcing network boundary security were studied to address essential operational standards that required the Internet connection of the control network. This study will help establish a network boundary management system that should be considered at the enterprise level in the future.

  • 본 논문에서는 최근 급속히 진전되고 있는 자동차 전기 신호의 통합제어를 위한 시스템의 개발에 관한 것을 간략히 기술한다. CAN 통신은 차량 내에 multiplexed network의 개념이 도입되어, 제어의 핵심모듈을 여러 곳에 분산시키고, 이들 각 모들을 직렬 통신 프로토콜을 사용하여 제어하는 기법의 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 먼저 CAN 통신 프로토콜의 특징을 간단히 기술하고, 이를 이용한 차량의 각종 전기신호와 센서들의 통합제어를 위한 시스템과 프로그램의 개발에 관한 것을 소개 한다.

  • This thesis is concerned with the control of Arago's disk system using CAN(Controller Area Network). CAN protocol is used widely for the real time control in networked control systems(NCS). A networked control system using CAN is constructed to perform position control of Arago's disk. The mathematical model, of overall system is derived to design an appropriate controller analytical1y. Various operating points of the Arago's disk system in the real time control are chosen as stable region ($45^{\circ}$), marginal1y stable region($90^{\circ}$) and unstable region($120^{\circ}$), and the experiment for the position control of arago's disk system is done for each operating point. The performance of the suggested NCS is verified by experiments. It is shown that the NCS using CAN has stability and excel1ency in real time control.

  • 본 논문은 CAN을 사용하여 매트릭스 컨버터로 구동되는 천정형 크레인의 총괄제어 기법을 제시하였다. 크레인의 갠추리, 트롤리 및 호이스트 구동용으로 4개 매트릭스 컨버터-유도전동기 구동장치를 직접토크 기법으로 위치 제어한다. 위치제어 알고리즘과 CAN을 사용한 크레인의 총괄제어 기법을 제시하고, 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 통하여 매트릭스 컨버터-유도전동기로 구동되는 크레인의 위치제어 성능을 확인한다.
