An Analysis of Contents on Written Clothing Described in Advertisement of Men′s Wear (1990년대 잡지광고에 표현된 남성정장 광고의 문자의상 분석 - 표제를 중심으로 -)

  • The aim of this study was to describe how the type of appeal and linguistic expression of men's wear advertisement in magazines by analyzing domestic men's and ladies' magazines published from 1990 to 1999. The periodical change in advertisement trend was also discussed. 1. Type of Linguistic expression The type of linguistic expression used in advertisements far men's wear could be classified into the following five categories : emotional expression, sensual expression, egoistic expression, informative expression, and brand name expression. The periodical trend in the use of each type of linguistic expression was as follows: the occupancy rate for the type of emotional expression was roughly 50 percent in the early 90's (1990-1993) and this percentage gradually decreased during the mid 90's (1994-1196) until the late 90's (1997-1990). Despite the decrease in occupancy rate, this type was the most commonly used. While the occupancy rate fur the type of informative expression gradually increased during the decade, occupancy growth fur the type of brand name expression was slight until its rapid expansion in the late 90's. The occupancy rate for the type of egoistic expression steadily increased during the early and mid 90's but decreased to its original percentage in the late 90's. As for the sensual expression, its occupancy was insignificant up to the mid 90's and then rapidly decreased in the late 90's. 2. Type of appeal The type of appeal used in men's wear advertisements could be classified into the four categories, sensitive appeal, sex appeal, image appeal, and quality appeal. The periodical trend in the use of each type of appeal was as follows: sensitive appeal was most commonly used during the decade ; it had an occupancy rate over 50 percent in the early 90's but the rate gradually decreased during the mid and late 90's. Sexual appeal were the least commonly used; though the occupancy rate increased during the early and mid 90's it dropped dramatically in the late 97's. The occupancy rate for image appeal gradually decreased until its growth in the late 90's. The occupancy rate fur quality appeal was insignificant in the early 90's. This percentage rapidly increased in the mid 90's but relapsed in the late 90's.

  • A new advertising, unlike traditional advertising, has a unique characteristics as a consumer's life styles are changed. This study explores consumer attitude affected by personal value disposition of each advertising creative appeal types. Personal value disposition implies directions of creative and determines advertising effect. So, personal value disposition deserves special consideration of not only print media, but broadcast media and internet media. In the present study, Research has been performed for a diffusion analysis based upon a survey of 338 individuals who were selected randomly. Test advertisement of MP3 Player has been used because involvement of products takes a neutral attitude comparatively. Result from the experiment show that, individualism-rational appeal is the most effective for consumers attitude. Groupism-rational appeals affects consumer's attitude, either. Groupism-emotional appeal has a partial effect and individualism-emotional appeal has no statistical significance. This experiment can be a foundation stone of personal value disposition studies.

  • The perception type of this study were divided into three types in all through Q-methodology. Above all, this study is to investigate two points us. Points of this study ; First, how the type of the perception is divided on the subjectivity about Media Fortune-contents in Digital Age? Second, what is a trait of character in same or different quality within these types? The result reveal five type that divided '1 : Scientific Appeal Type ; N=10', '2 : Value-depended Type ; N=7', '3 : Positive Preference Type ; N=3'. It found that is very different type all over.

  • The current study explored the relative effects of reciprocal/empathic type on messages appealing to help patients with Lou Gehrig's disease and their family. By this, we attempted to examine the applicable scope of the reciprocal type, a way of appealing rationally in the delivery of helping messages. The focus was on the moderation of empathic concern trait, a representative altruistic personality. Conducted as the online experiment, empathic concern trait was measured in the first stage, and the helping messages presented each by reciprocal/empathic type were shown and evaluated in the second stage after about 7 days. The data of 134 people were finally analyzed, excluding insincere participants. As a result, the relative advantage of empathic type was shown, but it was only limited to the subject attitude. In the result of the interaction, the reciprocal type were as much or more influential as the empathic type for the individuals high in empathic concern trait.

  • The study empirically analyzed the effects of content attitudes and recall on digital signage advertising appeal (information appeal vs. image appeal) and interactivity level (low vs. high). As a result, first, it was found that a moderately low level of interactivity had a positive effect on content attitudes and recall than when the level of digital signage was extremely high. In addition, at moderately low levels of interactivity, information appeals had higher content attitudes and recalls than image appeals. Second, the content of image appeal has a positive effect on attitude when the digital signage level of interactivity is high, and the image recall ad and information appeal ad have negative effects on recall. Third, the low level of interactivity of digital signage has a positive effect on the content attitude and recall of information appeal. With the advent of digital media in recent years, concerns about how to construct the level of interactivity and information content on a strategic level are increasing in practice. The results of this study are expected to suggest the direction of the strategic grounds for this.

  • The purpose of this study is to consider a social influence and fitness with related a ripple effect of media fortune-contents in digital age. This Work was studied by Q-methodology to approach in-depth and essential meaning about this study. The perception type of this study was divided into three types.   • One of the significant element of industrialization is the marketing mixed by advertisement. This paper concerns itself with two key methodological issues that have arisen during the marketing communication research. First, it examines BTL media, appeal type and executive type for interpersonal communication. The second part of the paper argues that story have an effect on making relationship between a consumer and a producer as storytelling producer's history, story of experiences of user, episode and so on. In this paper we developed contents of advertising for pine nut in Hong Cheon using the storytelling marketing communication strategy.

  • This study attempts to analyze the effects of public advertising about suicide prevention and to investigate how the attitudes and perceptions of the message recipients differ according to the message framing type (positive vs. negative) and the appeal type (self-oriented/other-oriented). Positive messages, rather than negative messages, have a greater impact on people's respect for life and on attitudes to suicide. Respect for life attitudes were more positive among subjects who received an other-oriented message than among those who received a self-oriented message. Among the individual characteristics variables, the level of cognitive emotion regulation showed a significant impact on attitudes to respect for life and on attitudes to suicide.

  • In recent, the blood type waken the reader's interest in the field of movie, music, and education. Now, the blood type is far better than was anticipated in every aspects of life than a personal taste and appear as a familiar topic of story telling in modem life-style. Long time ago in Japan, the blood type was used to a casting of character and a consistent personality. In this study, the types of personality is combined with a blood type and devided with a frame of types. Also, personalities of character are observed and compared in a general animation which not applied a blood type. In particular, a personalities of family in animation are analized through a blood type and applied by character. Also, the blood types based on character of families get an appeal of audience. From now on, it will expect a variable analysis of animation, and needs for a continuous study not only blood type between families but relationship between blood types.

  • The golden ratio is a mysterious number that surprisingly appears in science, physics, mathematics, as well as in nature. The number 1.618 seems to be a universal constant, and crops up whenever the subject is of beauty or elegance. Beautiful flowers and sea shells and also attractive people have a common number and that is 1.618 or $\varphi$ (phi). This paper does a study into the story of phi, and describes how the golden ratio is derived. Artists, architects and designers have employed the ratio into dimensioning their works of art to achieve visual appeal. Examples such as the Greek Parthenon of the Acropolis and paintings such as the Last Supper all use this magic number. An investigation was conducted among 50 people to test if looking at golden proportioning was actually appealing, or if it was just a type among overzealous enthusiasts. The results show that the golden ratio may actually be of some use.
