  • Extensions of the Kolmogorov convergence criterion and the Marcinkiewicz-Zygmund inequalities from independent random variables to conditional independent ones are derived. As their applications, a conditional version of the Marcinkiewicz-Zygmund strong law of large numbers and a result on convergence in $L^p$ for conditionally independent and conditionally identically distributed random variables are established, respectively.

  • The Marcinkiewicz-Zygmund strong law of large numbers for conditionally independent and conditionally identically distributed random variables is an existing, but merely qualitative result. In this paper, for the more general cases where the conditional order of moment belongs to (0, ${\infty}$) instead of (0, 2), we derive results on convergence rates which are quantitative ones in the sense that they tell us how fast convergence is obtained. Furthermore, some conditional probability inequalities are of independent interest.

  • In this paper we study the existence of conditional expectation for closed and convex valued Pettis-integrable random sets without assuming the Radon Nikodym property of the Banach space. New version of multivalued dominated convergence theorem of conditional expectation and multivalued $L{\acute{e}}vy^{\prime}s$ martingale convergence theorem for integrable and Pettis integrable random sets are proved.

  • In this paper, we establish some conditional versions of the first part of the Borel-Cantelli lemma. As its applications, we study strong limit results of $\mathfrak{F}$-independent random variables sequences, the convergence of sums of $\mathfrak{F}$-independent random variables and the conditional version of strong limit results of the concomitants of order statistics.

  • In this paper, we investigate the possible security threats to downloadable conditional access system (DCAS) host devices. We then propose a DCAS secure micro (SM) and transport processor (TP) security protocol that counters identified security threats using a secure key establishment and pairing management scheme. The proposed protocol not only resists disclosed SM ID and TP ID threats and indirect connection between TA and TP threats, but also meets some desirable security attributes such as known key secrecy, perfect forward secrecy, key compromised impersonation, unknown key-share, and key control.

  • This letter proposes a conditional access system (CAS) suitable for use in terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (T-DMB), based on an effective multiplexing method to provide encrypted T-DMB services. Specifically, the proposed multiplexing method for a CAS is designed to reduce the additional bit rate while assuring easy access to the designated encrypted services. Finally, the performance of the implemented CAS is confirmed through implementation and a broadcasting experiment under various service environments.

  • In this paper we established new results of existence of conditional expectation for closed convex and unbounded Pettis integrable random sets without assuming the Radon Nikodym property of the Banach space. As application, new versions of multivalued Lévy's martingale convergence theorem are proved by using the Slice and the linear topologies.

  • The modification of conditional Fuzzy C-Means (CFCM) with Gaussian weights (CFCM_GW) is accomplished for blind equalization of channels in this paper. The proposed CFCM_GW can deal with both of linear and nonlinear channels, because it searches for the optimal desired states of an unknown channel in a direct manner, which is not dependent on the type of channel structure. In the search procedure of CFCM_GW, the Bayesian likelihood fitness function, the Gaussian weighted partition matrix and the conditional constraint are exploited. Especially, in contrast to the common Euclidean distance in conventional Fuzzy C-Means(FCM), the Gaussian weighted partition matrix and the conditional constraint in the proposed CFCM_GW make it more robust to the heavy noise communication environment. The selected channel states by CFCM_GW are always close to the optimal set of a channel even when the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) is heavily corrupted. These given channel states are utilized as the input of the Bayesian equalizer to reconstruct transmitted symbols. The simulation studies demonstrate that the performance of the proposed method is relatively superior to those of the existing conventional FCM based approaches in terms of accuracy and speed.

  • This paper proposes a new method for accelerating the search speed of genetic algorithms by taking derivative evaluation and conditional random selection into account in their evolution process. Derivative evaluation makes genetic algorithms focus on the individuals whose fitness is rapidly increased. This accelerates the search speed of genetic algorithms by enhancing exploitation like steepest descent methods but also increases the possibility of a premature convergence that means most individuals after a few generations approach to local optima. On the other hand, derivative evaluation under a premature convergence helps genetic algorithms escape the local optima by enhancing exploration. If GAs fall into a premature convergence, random selection is used in order to help escaping local optimum, but its effects are not large. We experimented our method with one combinatorial problem and five complex function optimization problems. Experimental results showed that our method was superior to the simple genetic algorithm especially when the search space is large.

  • This letter presents a hybrid conditional access system (CAS) for advanced terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (AT-DMB). The proposed architecture is characterized by its use of a unified CAS channel and various communication networks for CAS message transmissions. We implement a prototype CAS based on the hybrid architecture, which improves the CAS message transmission efficiency greatly compared to the existing T-DMB CAS standard and supports various AT-DMB interlayer services more easily and efficiently.
