  • This paper introduces a compression technique for power qualify disturbance signal via discrete wavelet transform(DWT). The proposed approach is based on a previous estimation of the stationary component of power quality disturbance signal, so that it could be subtracted from the original signal in order to reduce a dynamic range of signal and generate transient events signal, which is subsequently applied to the compression technique. The compression techniques is performed through the difference signal decomposition, thresholding of wavelet coefficients, and signal reconstruction. It presents the relation between compression efficiency and threshold. It shouts that the wavelet transform leads to a power quality data compression approach with high compression efficiency, small compression error and good de-nosing effect.

  • Recent test data compression techniques raise concerns regarding power dissipation and compression efficiency. This letter proposes a new test data compression scheme, twin symbol encoding, that supports block division skills that can reduce hardware overhead. Our experimental results show that the proposed technique achieves both a high compression ratio and low-power dissipation. Therefore, the proposed scheme is an attractive solution for efficient test data compression.

  • We present a new low power scan testing and test data compression method for System-On-a-Chip (SOC). The don't cares in unspecified scan vectors are mapped to binary values for low power and encoded by adaptive encoding method for higher compression. Also, the scan-in direction of scan vectors is determined for low power. Experimental results for full-scanned versions of ISCAS 89 benchmark circuits show that the proposed method has both low power and higher compression.

  • In order to minimize compression power and analyze the cause of exergy loss for a dry ice production cycle with 3-stage compression, the variation of compression power was investigated and the exergy analysis was peformed for the cycle. In this cycle, $CO_2$, is used both as a refrigerant and as a raw material for dry ice. The behavior of compression power and irreversibility in the cycle were examined as a function of intermediate pressure. From this result, the conditions for the minimum compression power were obtained in terms of the first stage or the third stage pressure. In addition, the irreversibilities for the cycle were investigated with respect to the efficiency of compressor. Result shows that the optimum pressure is not consistent with the conventional pressure obtained from the equal-pressure-ratio assumption. This is mainly due to the change in mass flow rate of the intermediate stage compressor by the flash gas evaporation from the flash drums. Most important is that the present exergy analysis enabled us to find bad performance components for the cycle and informed us of methods to improve the cycle performance.

  • Power qualify monitoring system is devoted to more concern than before, because the innovation of industrial technology needs more accurate instruments and more advanced power quality. This paper was studied on using data of the protective relay by Power Quality Monitor. This paper was proposed the wave storage condition and monitoring clauses of the protective relay as a power quality monitoring device. The protective relay will have problem to save data for PQM analysis because the protective relay memory is limited. Therefore this paper was proposed new a data compression of data got from the protective relay. This method is wave compression comparison algorithm using the DFT. The compression rate is higher than any other established method. This method can be real time storage. This algorithm is verified using the comparison among other compression rate and proved by Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS).

  • Based on the actual operating environment of transformer, the aging tests of nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) were conducted systematically under four conditions: in air, in transform oil, under compression in air and under compression in transform oil to studythe effect of high temperature, transform oil and compression stress simultaneously on the thermal aging behaviors of nitrile butadiene rubber and predict the lifetime. The effects of liquid media and compression stress simultaneously on the thermal aging behaviors of nitrile butadiene rubber were studied by using characterization methods such as IR spectrosc-opy, thermogravimetric measurements, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) measurements and mechanical property measurements. The changes in physical properties during the aging process were analyzed and compared. Different aging conditions yielded materials with different properties. Aging at $70^{\circ}C$ under compression stress in oil, the change in elongation at break was lower than that aging in oil, but larger than that aging under compression in air. The compression set or elongation at break as evaluation indexes, 50% as critical value, the lifetime of NBR at $25^{\circ}C$ was predicted and compared. When aging under compression in oil, the prediction lifetime was lower than in air and under compression in air, and in oil. It was clear that when predicting the service lifetime of NBR in oil sealing application, compression and media liquid should be involved simultaneously. Under compression in oil, compression set as the evaluation index, the prediction lifetime of NBR was shorter than that of elongation at break as the evaluation index. For the life prediction of NBR, we should take into account of the performance trends of NBR under actual operating conditions to select the appropriate evaluation index.

  • In recent year, the interests of PQ is increase due to the increasing of non-linear load and distributed power sources in power system. For the parameters detection and feature extraction of PQ, and the PQ improvement method, continuous power signal monitering is needed. In this paper, the power signal compression and reconstruction method is suggested for power signal monitering. The power signal is compressed using DCT that has good compression performance, and the compressed signal is reconstructed through IDCT. And for the higher compression rate, DCT coefficients are arranged by magnitude in compression process, and in recouction process DCT coefficients are rearranged to original frequency position. The synthesized signal according to the IEC standard is used used in compression and reconstruction simulations. The performances of the proposed method are verified by comparing the error between synthesized signal and reconstructed signal.

  • When designing a redox flow battery system, compression of battery stack is required to prevent leakage of electrolyte and to reduce contact resistance between cell components. In addition, stack compression leads to deformation of the porous carbon electrode, which results in lower porosity and smaller cross-sectional area for electrolyte flow. In this paper, we investigate the effects of electrode compression on the cell performance by applying multi-dimensional, transient model of all-vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB). Simulation result reveals that large compression leads to greater pressure drop throughout the electrodes, which requires large pumping power to circulate electrolyte while lowered ohmic resistance results in better power capability of the battery. Also, cell compression results in imbalance between anolyte and catholyte and convective crossover of vanadium ions through the separator due to large pressure difference between negative and positive electrodes. Although it is predicted that the battery power is quickly improved due to the reduced ohmic resistance, the capacity decay of the battery is accelerated in the long term operation when the battery cell is compressed. Therefore, it is important to optimize the battery performance by taking trade-off between power and capacity when designing VRFB system.

  • Various test data compression techniques have been developed to reduce the test costs of system-on-a-chips. In this paper, a scan chain reordering algorithm for code-based test data compression techniques is proposed. Scan cells within an acceptable relocation distance are ranked to reduce the number of conflicts in all test patterns and rearranged by a positioning algorithm to minimize the routing overhead. The proposed method is demonstrated on ISCAS '89 benchmark circuits with their physical layout by using a 180 nm CMOS process library. Significant improvements are observed in compression ratio and test power consumption with minor routing overhead.
