  • This study evaluated 23 elderly residents living independently in 4 group homes for their behaviors of space occupancy and activities of daily living. The aim of the study was to analysis the habit of space occupancy of residents in group homes for elderly people. As the results, the habit of space occupancy of residents in group homes was analysed and categorized into four types: (1) bedroom occupancy, (2) common space occupancy, (3) 2-space occupancy and (4) several spaces occupancy. It was shown, then, that the common space occupancy in ‘ㅂ' group home, 2-space occupancy and several spaces occupancy in 'ㅇ' and 'ㄱ' group homes, and bedroom occupancy in ‘ㅅ' group home were highest, respectively, so that the type of their space occupancy varied in accordance with individual group homes. Moreover, there was a difference in the habit of their space occupancy according to the degree of achieving both ADL and IADL. This fact seems to indicate that the higher the degree of their independence in ADL and IADL, the more the number of their occupying space. Accordingly, the degree of their independence in achieving ADL and IADL should be taken into account in planning residential spaces for elderly people, including individual and commonly sharing spaces, traffic lines, layout and facilities.

  • This research examines domestic and oversea's barrier-free design guidelines provided exclusively for children and their implementations in the common spaces of the outpatient clinics in two pediatric rehabilitation hospitals in Seoul. Based on literature review, a checklist was developed to compare various barrier-free design guidelines in consideration of children's accessibility in space. In addition, four spatial areas in the outpatient clinics of the two hospitals were investigated based on the checklist. As a result, the domestic and Japanese guidelines were aiming primarily to all user groups regardless of ages. Whereas in other oversea's guidelines, a number of barrier-free design standards exclusive for children were found in the facility items such as handrail, sink, urine, toilet, water fountain, chair, table, shelve, and so on, throughout the indoor waiting and sanitary spaces. Concerning implementations, most of the items in the indoor passage, waiting, and sanitary spaces of the two hospitals were not sufficiently facilitated enough to meet with the barrier-free design standards exclusive for children. As such, it is recommended to review and improve the current domestic barrier-free design guideline to accommodate various physical and spatial needs of children in all age groups and regardless of disability types, in the design of a pediatric rehabilitation hospital in the future.

  • In this paper, we will consider some existence theorems of common fixed points for a countable family of non-self multi-valued mappings defined on a closed subset of a complete metrically convex space, and give more generalized common fixed point theorems for a countable family of single-valued mappings. The main results in this paper generalize and improve many common fixed point theorems for single valued or multi-valued mappings with contractive type conditions.

  • Several common fixed point theorems for a few contractive type mappings in complete metric spaces are established. As applications, the existence and uniqueness of common solutions for certain systems of functional equations arising in dynamic programming are discussed.

  • A continuous and non-decreasing function ${\psi}$ and another continuous function ${\phi}$ with ${\phi}(z)=0{\Leftrightarrow}z=0$ defined on $\mathbb{C}^+=\{x+yi:x,y{\geq}0\}$ are introduced, the ${\psi}-{\phi}$-contractive or expansive type conditions are considered, and the existence theorems of common fixed points for two mappings defined on a complex valued metric space are obtained. Also, Banach contraction principle and a fixed point theorem for a I-expansive type mapping are given on complex valued metric spaces.

  • A metrical common fixed point theorem proved for a pair of self mappings due to Sastry and Murthy ([16]) is extended to symmetric spaces which in turn unifies certain fixed point theorems due to Pant ([13]) and Cho et al. ([4]) besides deriving some related results. Some illustrative examples to highlight the realized improvements are also furnished.

  • Some convergence theorems for approximating to a common fixed point of an infinite family of strictly pseudocontractive mappings of Browder-Petryshyn type are proved in the setting of Banach spaces by using a new composite implicit iterative process with errors. The results presented in the paper generalize and improve the main results of Bai and Kim [1], Gu [4], Osilike [5], Su and Li [7], and Xu and Ori [8].

  • The purpose of this paper is to introduce the notion of generalized multivalued Ƶ-contraction and generalized multivalued Suzuki type Ƶ-contraction for pair of mappings and establish common fixed point theorems for such mappings in complete metric spaces. Results obtained in this paper extend and generalize some well known fixed point results of the literature. We deduce some corollaries from our main result and provide examples in support of our results.

  • The aim of this paper is to establish common fixed point theorems under generalized (ψ - ϕ)-weak contractions in the setting of complete S-metric spaces and we support our result by some examples. Also an application of our results, we obtain some fixed point theorems of integral type. Our results extend Theorem 2.1 and 2.2 of Doric [5], Theorem 2.1 of Dutta and Choudhury [6], and many other several results from the existing literature.

  • In this paper, we aim to prove coupled and common coupled fixed point theorems for contractive type conditions in the context of partial metric spaces by means of a control function, and to provide some corollaries of the established results. This paper presents a number of results that generalize and extend previous work in the field. In order to better illustrate the process, we provide examples.
