Background: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of the Motivational Interviewing (MI) based communication training for third-year nursing students. Methods: This study use a quasi-experimental design with pre and post-test to evaluate a 4-hour MI based communication training. This training was offered to 35 third-year nursing students who were participating in elective psychiatric nursing clerkship course. Each student completed pre and post questionnaire which includes assessment of motivational interviewing skills as measured by Helpful Response Questionnaire (HRQ). Also confidence (5 items) in using MI based communication knowledge and core skills were included. Data were independently analyzed by two coders and blindly rated the pre and post HRQ self-reported responses. Data were analyzed using paired t-test, descriptive analysis. Results: Nursing students showed increasing use of reflection (4.10~5.67, p<.001), decreasing use of closed-ended question (2.00~0.73, p<.001), road blocks (2.94~0.64, p<.001), and improve in depth of reflection (12.79~20.86 p<.001). But they did not show significant changes in open-ended question (2.01~2.33, p=.257). Confidence in the interview has increased overall, except for reflecting. The overall satisfaction with the training was quite high, and the most helpful training method was group and individual feedback. Conclusions: This study provides evidences that 4 hour-training is effective in core skills such as reflection and depth of reflection, and also confidence in interviews. It is necessary to develop step-by-step training modules to enhance undergraduate communication skills. It is necessary to develop an effective training strategy focused on students' confidence in open-ended questions and reflection.

The final goal of this study was to develop an optimal service scenario to ensure that building occupants can be effectively evacuated from the building within the golden time without extra assistance in preparing and evacuating for fires. In addition, the research was carried out by dividing the current services into fire evacuation and preparedness phases by applying the Double Diamond process in order to find a way to better familiar them as a lifestyle and to always be prepared for fires. For the building occupants and managers, a total of 14 ideas were first suggested, including not only the services of how to evacuate from a fire, but also the life-style service functions associated with fire implementation technology in daily life. The 14 proposed ideas were conducted by the Service quality evaluation and Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP) from the perspective of the service recipient, and those were finally prioritized from the service provider's perspective, taking into account the cost and practicality of the service provider. The results of this study show that differences in the importance of fire phases considered by stakeholders and the perception of fire generally vary considerably.

Objective: To develop and verify the usability of a cognitive rehabilitation system with diverse cognitive functional levels based on tangible objects for the elderly population. Methods: A study was conducted to investigate the system's strengths and weaknesses by upgrading it with responses from two groups of 15 patients and 4 occupational therapists. After undergoing three forms of training - regarding executive function, memory, and concentration for a total of 20-30 min, the participants were asked to answer a structured questionnaire about contents of the three forms of training, hardware including the tablet PC functioning as a CPU and display media and tangible objects, and satisfaction of experiential usage of the system. Results: Both groups responded that the most interesting training area was executive function while the least interesting was concentration. Six participants reported that the size of the screen of the tablet PC was inappropriate, and five responded that the size of the tool was inappropriate. All therapists and 40% of the patients responded that they were satisfied with this system. Conclusion: This system's features include easy manipulation of tangible tools for performing training tasks, easy selection of and training in cognitive areas based on users' needs, and automatic adjustment of difficulty level based on users' performance. The training environment was designed to be similar to the natural environment by using tangible objects in both hands as input devices for the system, and the system was considered as an alternative to the lack of community cognitive rehabilitation specialists.
This study aims the meta analysis based on the results of the empirical studies related to Job of life-long educators who are working in life-long education center, and the relationship between variables. In order to deliver this objective, articles published in domestic journals from December 2000 to April 2019 were collected, and total of 14 studies and 170 sub data were coded. With those data, the meta-analysis was executed by CMA(Comprehensive Meta Analysis) 3.0 program. The results of this meta-analysis study are as follows. First, the overall effect size associated with Job of life-long educators was 0.767, indicating between medium and large effect size. Second, the effect sizes of dependent variables that are influenced by job of life-long educators were Organization immersion, Job performance, Job satisfaction, and Job stress in order. Third, the effect size of Individual focus variables study was almost twice as big as that of mutual relation focus variables. The implications of this study were suggested based on the analysis results to provide the directivity about how we consider life-long educators related to their job.

This study is a concept analysis of membership, using the evolutionary concept analysis method. Literatures published from January 2000 to January 2020 were searched on CINAHL, EBSCO, and websites of professional associations, using keywords including 'Member support', 'Member welfare', 'Professional association', 'Membership', and 'Member benefit.' Finally, 12 articles and 4 professional association website data were selected for analysis. The antecedents of membership comprised two dimensions, viz., the member level, and the association level. The antecedent at the member level included need of members, whereas antecedent at the association level was to set up a new department responsible for memberships. Attributes of the membership included 'member support', 'member professionalization', and 'member solidarity'. The consequences of membership also consisted of two dimensions: increased member satisfaction and professionality, and enhancement of rights and interests at the member level, and improvement of public awareness for the professional association at the association level. The findings of this study suggest that providing proper membership is a desirable direction of the association's member support considering the member's opinion ultimately, and propose future research for membership development. This study significantly provides the contextual basis, by identifying the antecedents, attributes, and consequences of membership.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the perception of elementary pre-service teachers about convergence program after conducting 'Making shadow book using my creative story' activity. The program consists elementary pre-service teachers to creat their own stories and using them to make a "shadow book." The program was conducted on 52 elementary pre-service teachers for eight weeks. After the end of the program, they were examined for their perception of the convergence program with the Likert scale questions and essay questions. The analysis results of the Likert scale questions showed that they scored very high on the objectives, contents and methods of the program, and the satisfaction, necessity and willingness to re-participate were also high. In addition, the analysis results based on keywords of essay questions about how the program operates, and its advantages and improvements made it possible to categorize them into instructional content, convergence education, teaching competency, thinking ability, psychology, and emotional experience. Through this study, we could see that by experiencing the convergence program ran by cooperative professors of different majors, elementary pre-service teachers naturally recognized the meaning, importance and necessity of convergence education, understood the contents of related subjects easily, and improved teaching competency. But, they also mentioned various improvements due to the situation of non-face-to-face classes.

This study examined the level of depression according to the characteristics of school and family life of female high school students. In particular, this study attempted to identify the relationship between academic stress and the depression levels. The survey conducted a self-administered questionnaire from 438 students at D city in August, 2019. As a result, the distribution of the depression levels among the study subjects was 78.8 % for 「normal」 and 21.2 % for 「depression」, and the distribution of depression was significantly higher in groups with higher academic stress. The academic stress and depression levels showed significant positive correlations. In logistic regression analysis, the risk ratio of 「depression」was significantly higher in groups with higher academic stress than in groups with lower academic stress. According to multiple regression analysis, the factors affecting the level of depression were chosen as significant variables, such as academic achievement, relationship with school fellow, satisfaction with school life, test stress, study stress, and career stress. The above findings suggest that the level of depression in female high school students was related to academic stress and many other variables of school and family life characteristics.
