의과대학생들의 진로선택과 진로지도 (Medical Student Career Choice and Career Planning)

  • Purpose: This study analysed the intention of medical students career choice, educational programmes, and mentoring and counseling system for career planning at Yonsei medical school in Korea. Methods: The data were collected based on four separate graduation questionnaires at Yonsei medical school in the years of 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. The number of the survey was 130 in 2005, 130 in 2006, 153 in 2007, and that of the latest was 120 in 2008. We analysed the career intention on medical specialties and activities, and perceptions of important factors in choosing medical specialty. Results : The results which can be drawn from this study are these: firstly. students had more intention for choosing clinical medicine as university faculty than any other activities. While male students preferred to major in surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, urology, otorhinolaryngology, female students in internal medicine, neurology, anesthesiology and pain medicine, diagnostic radiology, laboratory medicine. Secondly, students perceived that the most important factor which can influence on choosing a medical specialty was individual factor such as one's interests and concerns, values, and aptitudes. In stead, they relatively less perceived mentor and role model's effects on choosing a medical specialty compared to those of the United States of America. Third, the career planning at Yonsei medical school was evaluated well, especially educational programmes for career planning such as self assessment programme, elective(specialized) courses, and conversation with a senior programme. Conclusions: Unexpectedly, there are high demands for career planning by medical students. Therefore, we will reorganize systematic devices for career planning such as mentoring and counseling system at medical school.

대학생의 가족건강성과 진로결정 어려움 간의 관계에서 진로자기조절의 매개효과 (Mediation effect of career self-regulation on the relation between family strength and career decision-making difficulties)

  • 본 연구는 대학생들이 인식한 가족건강성, 진로자기조절과 진로결정 어려움 세 변인간의 구조적관계를 탐색해보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울소재 4년제 대학교에 재학 중인 남녀대학생 172명을대상으로 가족건강성, 진로자기조절, 진로결정 어려움 척도로 구성된 설문을 실시하여, 진로자기조절의 매개효과를 가정한 부분매개모형인 연구모형을 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 가족건강성은 진로결정 어려움에 직접적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 가족건강성과 진로결정 어려움 간의 관계를 진로자기조절이 유의미하게 매개하였다. 셋째, 부분매개모형이 완전매개모형보다더 자료에 부합함이 확인되었다. 이는 대학생들의 진로문제에 가족건강성이 미치는 직 간접적인영향력이 높음을 보여주는 결과로, 진로상담시, 가족환경에 대한 탐색 뿐 아니라 진로자기조절능력 증진을 위한 개입이 필요함을 시사한다.

여자 대학생이 지각하는 진로장벽과 진로준비행동 간의 관계에서 귀인성향의 조절효과 (The moderating effects of attribution style on the relationship between perceived career barriers of female college students and career preparation behavior)

  • 이 연구는 여자 대학생이 지각하는 진로장벽과 귀인성향이 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향과 진로장벽과 진로준비행동 사이에 귀인성향의 조절효과를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 485명의 여자대학생을 대상으로 진로장벽검사와 진로준비행동 및 귀인성향 검사를 실시하였으며 수집된 자료는 SPSS 23.0을 이용하여 통계처리하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 여자대학생이 지각하는 진로장벽은 진로준비행동에 부적인 영향을 나타냈으며 진로장벽의 하위요인 중 자기명확성이 부족할수록 또 진로정보가 부족할수록 진로준비행동에 소극적이였다. 둘째, 귀인성향 중 내적이고 통제가능한 노력에 귀인할수록 진로준비행동에 적극적이였다. 셋째, 진로장벽과 진로준비행동 사이에 귀인성향의 조절효과는 나타나지 않았다. 이상의 연구결과를 바탕으로 여자대학생의 진로교육 및 진로상담에 주는 시사점과 연구의 제한점 및 추후 연구를 위한 방향을 논의하였다.

청소년의 사회관계가 진로발달과 대학생활만족에 미치는 영향에 관한 융합적 연구 (A Convergent Study Assessing the Effects of Youth's Social Relationships on Career Development and College Life Satisfaction)

  • 본 연구는 대학 진학 전·후 진로발달과 대학생활 만족도 간의 관계를 확인하고 이에 영향을 미치는 요인으로서 부모, 또래, 교사와의 사회관계에 대해 검증하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 한국청소년정책연구원에서 2010년부터 조사한 한국아동·청소년패널 조사(Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey: KCYPS)를 활용하였다. 연구결과를 살펴보면, 진로발달과 대학생활 만족도 간에는 정적인 상관관계를 보였다. 또한, 부모 또는 또래와의 지지적 관계는 고등학생 시기 진로정체감 수준과 이후 대학생활만족에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 그 밖에, 고등학생 시기 교사와 긍정적 관계를 형성한 청소년의 경우 대학 진학 후 진로 결정 수준이 높은 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는 개인의 진로발달 수준에 맞는 개별화된 진로교육의 필요성을 시사하였다. 또한, 긍정적인 사회관계를 형성, 유지, 발전시키기 위한 융합적 접근은 청소년의 진로발달에 지속적이고 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 보인다.

의과대학생을 위한 체제적 진로상담 모델과 전략 (A Systematic Career Advising Model and Strategies for Medical Students)

  • One of the important roles of medical schools is to support medical students in deciding upon their future career path or choosing their specialty. The purpose of this study is to suggest a career advising model and strategies for medical students through a systematic approach. This study consists of three parts. The first part introduces some main career theories: super's career development theory, career decision-making theory, social cognitive career theory, and ecosystem theory. The second part proposes a systematic career advising model using the results acquired from previous studies and theories. This model considers a medical school as a social system that consists of two domains (internal and external). This social system is considered as a complex where various factors interact with each other: students' individual characteristics, institutional policies and culture, curriculum and learning experience, students' perceived specialty characteristics, and aspects of the external environment such as healthcare systems. The third part suggests some career advising strategies based on a systematic approach that medical schools can apply. These research results can be used for designing career advising courses for medical students, integrating various career advising programs and resources of medical schools, and evaluating the outcomes of career advising programs at an institutional level.

전문대학생의 진로의식에 관한 연구 - D대학 치기공과 재학생을 중심으로 - (The research on the Career Consciousness of the College Students (revolve around D College Dental Technology Student))

  • Purpose: The work of Dental technician which is part of national dental health, is more specialized recently. This research provides fundamental data from analyzing student's career consciousness according to needs of a career education. Here is the conclusion of the analysis about student's career consciousness, that is for a right choice of career. Methods: This study did questionnaire to a dental Laboratory Technology student who locate in Taegu. Question response student number was 570 people. Response contents analyzed to 506 people except imperfect questionnaire. Data used windows sas 8.0 program and did descriptive statistical analysis. Results: There is a meaningful difference in what they want to know about an occupation according to ages. (${\rho}$ < 0.01) All ages are similar to their occupational thinking, however they who are under twenties consider working environment. Most motives of an entrance are similar, there is a meaningful difference. (${\rho}$ < 0.05) According to a grade of college, there is a meaningful difference how to obtain informations of a career. (${\rho}$ < 0.05) Sophomores and juniors obtain information from seniors or family, however freshmen obtain from the internet because of an accessibility. There is a meaningful difference of a job meaning between men and women. (${\rho}$ < 0.01) Men are working for a means of living. But women give weight to a self-development. The older they grow, the more they know about their aptitude. Selecting subjects are different choosing time & motive. According to ages and where they are from, there is a meaningful difference how much know about their aptitude. (${\rho}$ < 0.05) Older Students know more than young students. Selecting subjects are different choosing time & motive. In accordance with a grade, ages, and where they are from, there are different degrees about how much know their interests. There is a meaningful difference of a choosing major period and choosing informations. (${\rho}$ < 0.01) And also there is a meaningful difference where they are from and why they enter to College. (${\rho}$ < 0.001) In accordance with a grade, ages, and where they are from, there are different degrees about how much know their aptitude. There is a meaningful difference of a choosing major period. (${\rho}$ < 0.01) And also there is a meaningful difference why they enter to College. (${\rho}$ < 0.001) Conclusion: Although we know that a career education is very important, however lots of students select a career without their aptitude & interest & character. We need to teach a career education systematically; considering students career consciousness, with a proper career guidance, cultivating career consciousness.

대학생들의 가치관에 따른 전공만족도와 진로성숙도에 관한 연구 - 외식.조리 전공 - (A Study on Major Satisfaction and Career Maturity according to the Values of College Students - Majoring in Food Management and Culinary Arts -)

  • 본 연구는 외식 조리전공 대학생들이 형성하고 있는 주된 가치 지향성이 전공만족도와 진로성숙에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 그리고 전공만족도가 높으면 진로성숙에 도움을 주는지를 분석하기 위해 SPSS18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도분석, 요인분석, 상관분석, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 외식 조리전공 대학생들의 가치관은 전공만족도와 진로성숙에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 전공만족도는 진로성숙에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 실용주의 가치관은 전공만족도와 진로성숙도를 높이는 매우 중요한 요인이며, 사회인식 요인과 교과과정 요인은 학생들이 진로를 결정하는데 매우 중요한 요인인 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 대학생들의 전공만족도와 진로성숙도를 높이기 위해서는 학생들이 자아존중 가치관을 형성할 수 있도록 하는 올바른 가치관 교육이 필요하며, 외식 조리전공 대학생들에 대한 사회의 올바른 인식과 적극적인 관심, 그리고 학생들이 전공에 대한 흥미와 새로운 경험을 가질 수 있는 이론과 실기가 적절히 배분된 교과내용 및 교과과정 편성이 필요함을 시사하고 있다.

의과대학 교수의 경력개발: 필요성과 실행전략 (Faculty Development for Medical Faculty: Importance and Strategies)

  • Unlike in the past, standards for the quantity and quality of work expected from medical school faculty are continuously rising, causing changes and stress in various areas. This highlights the need for career development among medical school faculty for professional, personal, organizational, and societal reasons. The role of medical school faculty has become more diverse, leading to an increase in the types and levels of competencies required. Medical schools must support their faculty members with diverse identities in fully utilizing their capabilities to achieve the institution's mission. Furthermore, societal changes suggest that career development for medical school faculty will become even more crucial in the future. To achieve this, both individuals and organizations must make efforts and play appropriate roles. For this purpose, medical schools use a combination of promotion and tenure evaluations and faculty development programs, while individual faculty members follow a career path within the medical school environment. Medical school faculty must be able to meet the evolving demands at each stage of their careers. It is important for professors, who engage in career development, to have a clear sense of their identity and values, and to prioritize their career goals. Medical schools should also ensure that the implicit messages they convey align with the organization's explicit values. Finally, proactively preparing for future changes in society and generations is essential from a long-term perspective.

공학계열 대학 졸업자의 첫 일자리 취업성과 결정요인 탐색 (Exploring the Determinants of First Job Employment Outcomes of Engineering College Graduates)

  • This study explored the determinants of first job employment outcomes(employment status, salary, company size) of engineering college graduates using 2018 Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey(GOMS) data. Independent variables were used as variables for personal characteristics, academic background, and job preparation efforts. The priorities and interactions between the factors determining employment outcomes were identified using the decision tree analysis. The research results are as follows. First, it was found that the most important factor in determining the 'first job employment status' was 'exam preparation(public and private company, test for teacher recruitment)' among individual's job preparation efforts. Second, the most important factor in determining 'first job salary' was 'gender' among individual characteristics. Third, the most important factor in determining the 'first company size' was the experience of 'corporate job aptitude study' among individual's job preparation efforts. Based on the results of the analysis, suggestions for establishing customized career development strategies for engineering college students were presented.

여대생의 외모관리행동이 진로결정수준에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Appearance Management Behaviors on Career Decision Level in Female College Students)

  • The objective of this study was to examine the effects of appearance management behaviors on career decision level among female college students. Based on previous studies on appearance management behaviors and career decision level, the items for a questionnaire were developed. For the study, we conducted a questionnaire survey among 292 students from women's university in Seoul. Factor analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS statistics 23. Results of this study are as follows. First, the factor structure of appearance management behavior had three factors: 'fashion & hair,' 'skin & plastic surgery,' and 'body shape.' The reliability and validity of the factor structure were proved. Second, a significant correlation was found between sub-factors in appearance management behaviors. Career decision level showed a significant correlation only with body management factor. Third, the appearance management behavior of female college students was found to have a partially significant effect on career decision level. For higher grade students, fashion & hair factor and body shape factor had positive effects on career decision level. For lower grade students, body shape factor had a positive effect on career decision level while skin & plastic surgery factor had a negative effect on career decision level. Therefore, to increase career decision level, managing appearance through keeping fit body shape is crucial. This study also suggests that as one elevates to a higher grade, the importance of management and keeping interest toward fashion is important.
