  • As Urban Regeneration is being carried out, stakeholders are most likely to have disagreements on their interests. Besides, dispersion of numerous communication routes and obscure decision processes aggravate the situation. Eventually, fragmented decision-making processes and complex structure lead to inefficient outcome and delay of projects. This paper is a study on decision-making support not only helps the program manager have more efficient and optimum decision, but also provides alternatives for Urban Regeneration. This study is conducted as follows. Firstly, the project process and the decision-making structure among stakeholders in Urban Regeneration are analyzed, and then the current status of decision-making in Urban Regeneration project is classified. Secondly, with literature study on "Gateway Review", the decision-making gateway review process in Urban Regeneration is defined, and then the "Gateway Review Elements" are listed. Thirdly, to establish gateway review process, this paper presents a check points, namely gate which supports a program manager to monitor and to control the program management in Urban Regeneration. Each gate has several supporting tools such as diagram of critical decision points relation, scheme of stakeholder, checklist. Fourthly, the proposed concept is verified by experts who have been carefully selected to provide their respective reviews. Finally, decision-making support gateway review system is modified based on their critiques and suggestions.

  • This study has a purpose to analyse changes in perception and image about engineering and technology of students who participated in the engineering camp. To achieve this objective, the questions were as follows. 1) What about participants' image difference for engineering before and after participating the engineering camp 2) What about participants' image difference for technology before and after participating the engineering camp. For this study, the program was progressed from Aug in 2017 and the data was collected from 88 students, middle school seniors and high school freshmen. The results of this study were as follows: First, secondary students perceived 'valuable(6.74)', 'meaningful(6.73)', 'rich(6.40)', 'collaborative(6.42)', 'nice(6.22)' as high image rank of the positive response for engineering. On the other hand, 'complex(3.59)', 'labored(3.80)', 'hard(4.66)', 'dangerous(4.48)', 'cold(4.86)' were perceived as low image rank of the negative response for engineering. We can realize that they generally has the image that engineering is valuable, meaningful and nice but also labored, complex and hard. The students who participated in the engineering camp showed the greatest difference in 'complex - simple' and 'dangerous - safe' engineering categories before and after the camp, followed by 'cold - hot', 'labored - easy', and 'hard - soft', respectively. Second, secondary students perceived 'meaningful(6.58)', 'valuable(6.55)', 'wide(6.38)', 'nice(6.37)', 'strong(6.25)' as high image rank of the positive response for technology. On the other hand, 'complex(3.85)', 'labored(3.93)', 'hard(4.62)', 'dangerous(4.72)', 'cold(5.05)' were perceived as low image rank of the negative response for technology. The students who participated in the engineering camp had the big change in 'hard - soft' technology category before and after the camp, followed by 'complex - simple', 'labored - easy', 'theoretical - practical' and 'dangerous - safe', respectively. We can see that the negative images for technology which were complex, labored, dangerous, theoretical was improved with positive image such as simple, easy, safe and practical, after conducting the engineering camp. In conclusion, both image recognitions for engineering and technology have improved after the camp. It means that interesting and entertaining engineering-technology program can boost interests in engineering and technology which felt difficult, so that images about them can be turned out positive. Also, it is possible to reduce avoidance of natural science and engineering subjects, as part of the purpose of training creative talents in science and engineering, so it can be said that the engineering camp is highly meaningful because it can lead students into the field of science and engineering.

  • Recently, R.O.K. Navy is increasing re-usability of design data and application of M&S(Modeling and Simulation) through the establishment of collaborative product development environment focused on Naval Ship Product Model(NSPM). As a result, the reliability of the result of design is getting better, and furthermore, a study to improve quality of construction through simulation of production/operation is in progress. Accordingly, the database construction of design data and the DB(Database) quality become important, but there was not research related to those or it was just initial state. This paper conducted research about system of the quality verification process of shape elements which compose NSPM based on the quality verification guideline of NSPM as the result of the precedent study. The hull surface was limited as verification object. The study to verify two things that application of basic drawing by the cad model of hull surface, and whether there is error in the geometric quality of cad model was progressed. To achieve this goal, the verification criteria and algorithm were defined and the prototype system which is based on was developed.

  • Organizational culture provides organizational members with identity, homogeneity and behavioral guidance, and promotes organizational commitment and enhances the stability of social systems. What organizational culture positively influences organizational performance? In this study, we tried to categorize organizational culture as creativity, change, cooperation, trust and knowledge sharing for specific public institutions and to diagnose the organizational culture by examining the level of recognition of the organizational members. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of organizational culture on organizational culture. The result of this study shows that the degree of future - oriented and cooperative culture of the public institutions that are the subject of research is not so high. In order to improve the performance of the organization, it is necessary to create a futuristic and cooperative culture. In order to create such a culture, various efforts must be made to continuously communicate and build trust among the members of the organization. In particular, leadership efforts to distribute, transfer, and trust authority to subordinates are a priority. In other words, it is very difficult to build a future-oriented, collaborative culture successfully without the efforts of managers.

  • Research on the establishment of new governance aimed at efficient policy planning and the implementation thereof by the government has been conducted in response to social changes. Nonetheless, governance is comprehensive and encompasses different meanings; it takes various forms in the process of its actual application. Therefore, systematic classification of research on governance and analysis on its research trend are required. Accordingly, three researchers who majored in policy sciences, business informatics, and library and information science, respectively, searched for theses related to governance published since 2016 from Research Information Sharing Service and conducted a social network analysis (SNA) on them. According to their research results, the main research topics were largely classified into collaborative governance and local governance. Keywords throughout the topics included network, participation, conflict, and trust in line with the characteristics of governance. Representative subjects of governance included education, urban regeneration, and the environment. Further, measurement of betweenness centrality showed local governance was a main topic for convergent research. This study will lead to a greater understanding of research on governance and help activate such research. One limitation of this study is that it analyzed only theses with the keywords but not all theses on governance. Follow-up research should analyze all theses on governance and statistically verify them with SNA indexes.

  • Objective : To estimate the prevalence of congenital heart disease from the 1990 student heart disease screening program. Methods : The heart disease screening program for elementary students was conducted in Kyonggi-do, in 1998. The subjects of the present study comprised the 40,402 students who attended the schools in the catchment area of a collaborative university hospital and who participated in the primary examination. The congenital heart disease (CHD) patients were initially identified through a questionnaire about prior medical history, and further through diagnostic tests & medical examinations in the secondary & the tertiary examinations. Certain assumptions were used in the estimation of the number of CHD cases among non-participants of the secondary & tertiary examinations. The overall prevalence of CHD was estimated by adding the CHD detection rates of the participants and the estimated prevalence of the non-participants. Results : Among the 40,402 primary participants, 1,655 were referred further, of whom 79.1% (1,309) participated in the secondary examination. Of these, 121 were referred to the tertiary examination, with a participation rate at this last stage of 80.2%. The positive predictive value (PPV) of the screening tools was the highest when the results of both EKG and the questionnaire were positive. Because 85.9% of the detected cases had a past history of CHD, PPV was higher when the selection criteria in the questionnaire included past CHD history than when it didnt. The CHD defection rate among the participants was 1.76 cases/1,000 and the presumed number of cases among the non-participants was 31; giving an estimated final CHD prevalence of 2.52 cases/1,000 (95% CI : 2.06-3.06). Among the identified cases of CHD, VSD (52.8%) was the most common, followed by PDA (9.7%), TOF (9.7%) & PS (9.7%). Conclusion : Because the characteristics of the non-participants differed from those of the participants, the estimation of prevalence was influenced by the participation rate. Of the detected cases, 85.9% had a past history of diagnosis or operation for CMD. These findings suggested that the prevalence estimated in this study may be an underestimation of the actual condition. Therefore, a birth cohort study is required in order to more accurately estimate the prevalence and the effects of the program.

  • This study will analyze a case that utilizes not just the characters, which are a primary licensing component in traditional animation licensing, however secondary images such as animation backgrounds, and one that has visually extended their brand. Secondary image plays an important role in developing the narration of the animation, and provides the space where the narrative takes place. It also gives important clues for the characters to be able to develop a narrative, through its chronological and geographical dimensions. This study distinguishes the components that can be used in the licensing process of an original animation into primary usage and secondary usage, and defines the scope of each. Focused on two collaboration cases, Disney's The Jungle Book & KENZO, and Disney's Alice in Wonderland & Marc by Marc Jacobs, It investigates the relationship of visual utilization between the expressive components related to secondary usage in the collaborative case of licensing, and the actual product. This study found the possibility of secondary images as a vehicle to deliver brand identity. As the spectrum of licensing elements is extended, it is necessary to develop an alternative licensing system for the new process of collaboration.

  • This study aims to understand the thematic trends globally developed in the 'Green Urbanism' related research. Research methodology is based on systemic review of international literature published for the past 20 years period between 2000 and 2020. The specific methods applied include not only literature search by citation, co-authorship, and co-occurrence but social network analysis in order to find correlations among the publication. The correlations are visualized and analysed using VOSviewer and Ucinet software. The analysis indicates that total of 51 studies were carried out by 89 authors from 54 institutions across 21 countries during the period. The majority of the research was done by a country-specific study and only a few research were collaborative studies with other countries. The most common theme that occurred in the early years was 'sustainability and the theme evolved toward specific ones such as 'built environment', 'infrastructure', and 'health'. Having considered that climate change has become a global challenge, green urbanism is expected to be a future direction to pursue environmentally sustainable urban spaces. This study also implies that governance, policy support, and intervention are crucial factors in developing sustainable urban spaces.
