An Empirical Data Driven Optimization Approach By Simulating Human Learning Processes (인간의 학습과정 시뮬레이션에 의한 경험적 데이터를 이용한 최적화 방법)

  • This study suggests a data driven optimization approach, which simulates the models of human learning processes from cognitive sciences. It shows how the human learning processes can be simulated and applied to solving combinatorial optimization problems. The main advantage of using this method is in applying it into problems, which are very difficult to simulate. 'Undecidable' problems are considered as best possible application areas for this suggested approach. The concept of an 'undecidable' problem is redefined. The learning models in human learning and decision-making related to combinatorial optimization in cognitive and neural sciences are designed, simulated, and implemented to solve an optimization problem. We call this approach 'SLO : simulated learning for optimization.' Two different versions of SLO have been designed: SLO with position & link matrix, and SLO with decomposition algorithm. The methods are tested for traveling salespersons problems to show how these approaches derive new solution empirically. The tests show that simulated learning for optimization produces new solutions with better performance empirically. Its performance, compared to other hill-climbing type methods, is relatively good.

Describing a MachineReadable Electronic Dictionary using LEXml (LEXml을 이용한 기계가독형 전자사전의 표식)

  • XML(extensible Markup Language)이 1996년 등장한 이후, 기존의 정보를 XML 기반으로 나타내기 위한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 언어자원(language Resource)과 관련된 분야는 80년대부터 그 연구가 있었으나, XML의 등장 이후, 보다 다양하고 특화된 영역의 정보를 구조화하기 위한 연구결과가 최근 소개되기 시작하였다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 분야 중 전자사전을 표식(markup)하는 XML기반 표준언어인 LEXml(Presentation/Representation of Entries in Dictionaries: LEXml)에 대하여 살펴보고, 기존에 XML로 구축된 전자사전을 LEXml로 변환하여, 그 구조의 확장성과 유효성을 검증할 것이다. 기반자료로써 2000년도에 구축된 MultiDICO의 불어 정보를 이용하였다. 이를 위해 MultiDICO의 XML문서 구조와 LEXml 구조 사이의 각 요소(element)별 대응표를 만들었으며, 이를 바탕으로 XSL(Extensible Style sheet Language)를 작성하였다. 본 연구결과 LEXml이 기존에 구축된 전자사전들을 표식하는데 어려움이 없을 뿐만 아니라, 기계가독성을 높일 수 있는 구조적 유연성이 매우 높은 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구는 '원인'의 개념과 타동사성에 대한 아동의 민감성이 공대명사 처리에 어떻게 반영되는지에 대해 검토하였다. 한국어뿐만 아니라 여러 언어에서 관찰되었듯이, '원인'은 서술부 중심의 어휘정보 이론에서 이용되는 핵심적인 개념으로서, 타동사와 목적어 사이에 잠재적으로 함유된 '원인'의 정도에 따라 목적어의 생략이 허용된다. 본 연구는 세명의 한국 아동 (0;10-3;7)의 발화자료를 토대로 한국어의 공대명사화 구조를 검토하여 다음과 같은 관찰을 하였다. 한국아동은 습득 초기에는 주로 옛정보, 새정보 등의 담화화용적 제약에 따른 발화를 하지만, 3세경부터는 동사의 습득양상이 점차적으로 다양해지는데, 이때부터는 논항의 생략과 동사의 타동사성과 상호관계를 보인다.

Analysis of Preservice Elementary Teachers' Lesson Plans

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze lesson plans from third to sixth grades of science and to find out teaching strategies in respects of learning functions provided by preservice elementary teachers in education university. On the whole, to control students' learning process preservice teachers used more shared-regulation strategy than strong teacher-regulation one. Teaching activities for regulative learning function were most used in strategy of strong teacher-regulation, and in strategy of shared-regulation those for cognitive learning functions were most used. But teaching activities for affective learning functions were used a little considered in both teaching strategies. In introduction step of instruction, affective and regulative learning functions were more instructed by strong teacher-regulation strategy and cognitive learning functions were more instructed by shared-regulation strategy. The affective, cognitive, and regulative learning functions were largely planned by shared-regulation teaching strategy in development. The regulative learning functions were planned by strong teacher-regulation strategy than by shared-regulation strategy and affective learning functions were considered a little bit in consolidation. There was a tendency that strong teacherregulation strategy was increased in lessons for fifth and sixth grade.

  • 본 연구는 다(多)음절 한국어 단어재인에서의 어휘접근단위(unit of lexical access)를 알아보고자 했다. 이를 위해 Taft(1987)가 영어 어휘접근단위를 알아보고자 했을 때 사용한 실험 패러다임을 이용하였다. 실험 결과 반응시간에서는 조건간 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았지만, BOSS 조건의 반응시간이 짧은 경향성을 보였고, 반응률에 있어서도 BOSS를 지지하는 결과를 보여주었다. 물론, 반응 오류가 많은 등 Taft(1987)의 패러다임을 한국어에 적용하기에 부적절했던 점이 있었지만, 적어도 다음절 단어 어휘접근 시 BOSS가 역할을 하고 있다는 것은 알아 볼 수 있었다.

  • 최근들어 유비쿼터스 환경에서 인간 친화적 인터페이스를 갖는 서비스 로봇에 대한 연구가 매우 활발하다. 인간과 자연스러운 상호작용을 위하여, 화자를 바라보고, 깨끗한 음성신호를 얻는 과정에서 음원의 위치 측정은 필연적이다. 본 논문은 마이크로폰에 도달되는 동일 신호의 도착시간지연(Time Delay of Arrival: TDOA) 특성 행렬을 정의하고, 이를 이용하여, 음원의 위치 측정 시스템을 구현한다. 휴머노이드 로봇에 구현된 실제 시스템을 통하여 방향 검지 및 높이 구분이 잘 이루어짐을 확인한다.

Distinct Developmental Features of Olfactory Bulb Interneurons

  • The olfactory bulb (OB) has an extremely higher proportion of interneurons innervating excitatory neurons than other brain regions, which is evolutionally conserved across species. Despite the abundance of OB interneurons, little is known about the diversification and physiological functions of OB interneurons compared to cortical interneurons. In this review, an overview of the general developmental process of interneurons from the angles of the spatial and temporal specifications was presented. Then, the distinct features shown exclusively in OB interneurons development and molecular machinery recently identified were discussed. Finally, we proposed an evolutionary meaning for the diversity of OB interneurons.

Depression and suicidal ideation in community-dwelling older adults in Korea

  • This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of depression and suicidal ideation in community-dwelling older adults in Korea, as well as identify factors associated with their occurrence, including cognitive impairment. A cross-sectional study of 484 residents was conducted at a senior centre utilising the PHQ-9K and K-MMSE. Demographic data were also collected for analysis. Of the respondents, 38.1% had symptoms of mild to severe depression. Further, 16.7% reported having suicidal ideation, with 5% of respondents having thoughts of suicide every day. The majority of participants had 'normal' scores on the K-MMSE (88.0%), though significant differences were observed in PHQ-9K scores between cognitive-acceptable and cognitive-impaired groups. Depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation were very prevalent in community-dwelling older adults in Korea. This study indicates the need for the development of community-based mental health programs tailored to older adults, and demonstrates the viability of promoting early detection of depressive symptoms through senior centres.

Security Threat Identification and Prevention among Secondary Users in Cognitive Radio Networks

  • The Cognitive radio (CR) is evolving technology for managing the spectrum bandwidth in wireless network. The security plays a vital role in wireless network where the secondary users are trying to access the primary user's bandwidth. During the allocation the any malicious user either he pretends to be primary user or secondary user to access the vital information's such as credentials, hacking the key, network jam, user overlapping etc. This research paper discusses on various types of attack and to prevent the attack in cognitive radio network. In this research, secondary users are identified by the primary user to access the primary network by the secondary users. The secondary users are given authorization to access the primary network. If any secondary user fails to provide the authorization, then that user will be treated as the malicious user. In this paper two approaches are suggested one by applying elliptic curve cryptography and the other method by using priority-based service access.

A Study on Development of Instructional Methods in Secondary School Science (중등학교 과학교과의 수업방법 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The major objective of this study was to develop effective teaching methods for middle school science. To achieve the objective, general characteristics of science teaching methods were discussed and the 6th national science curriculum was analyzed in terms of epistemological backgrounds, cognitive demand and organizational characteristics. It was analyzed that epistemological background of the curriculum was based on the traditional philosophy of science. It was also indicated that modern Philosophy of science was only partially reflected the objectives of the past curricula. The cognitive demand of the curricula has also been higher than students' actual level of cognitive development. Based upon these results of the analysis, several exemplary instructional methods were developed.
