Beginning with retirement in 2010 of the leading group of baby boomer generation born in 1955, baby boomers are starting to retire from work in full-scale. Since retirement of baby boomers refers to increase in the senior class with longer life expectancies caused by development of medical technologies, enhancement of living standards, and improvement of surrounding environments, annually decreasing birthrate is further accelerating entry of our society into an aged society. Accordingly to examine baby boomer generation's preparation for retirement in relation to career self-efficacy, first, difference in retirement preparation according to mean monthly income and current occupation was analyzed. Second, the effect of career self-efficacy on retirement preparation was studied. The survey for this study was conducted for one month between January 17 and February 16, 2012 in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungnam, Gyeongnam, Jeonnam, and Jeju. 500 surveys were distributed to baby boomer generations through direct visit and mail, among which 443 responses were returned. 400 effective responses were selected as subjects of the study. As a result, preparation for retirement according to mean monthly income was verified to be significant in terms of economic and physical factors. Significant results were shown in all factors including economic, physical and social factors for retirement preparation according to current occupation. Career self-efficacy had greatest influence of 58% on retirement preparation with economic factors. It also influenced all factors including self assessment, objective setting, occupational information, and problem solving.
Globally, the prolonged pandemic of COVID-19 (COVID-19) has had a great impact on all industries. In particular, in the field of education, online classes (non-face-to-face) had some negative perceptions of online classes, such as lack of preparation for learning and student dissatisfaction with the class. According to the current situation survey in 2020, non-face-to-face classes accounted for about 56% of the class, and streaming real-time classes and video content-based classes accounted for most of the class. This study empirically analyzes the problems to be solved by online classes through the 2020-2021 survey (software application practical class university students), and explains the detailed program and development plan (implementation result). This study intends to contribute to the development of online learning development of each educational institution after the end of the corona crisis.
This study was performed to obtain basic data in relation to instructional design and teaching strategy according to instructional modes. For the purpose of this study, participants evaluated the qualities of the instructions they attended and the results of the evaluation were compared according to 4 instructional modes(content class, online real-time class, online and face-to-face mixed class, and face-to-face class). As a result of the study, there were differences in the evaluation regarding the appropriateness of the course according to instructional modes. That is, satisfaction with lecture progress was lower in the online real-time classes than in content classes, mixed classes, and face-to-face classes. As a result of the descriptive lecture evaluation analysis, in the content class type, students answered that they were satisfied with the easily understandable and interesting explanations. In the case of the online real-time classes, it was found that they were satisfied with thorough preparation and effective communication. In the mixed class type, they said they were satisfied with the systematic class and passionate lecture, and in the face-to-face classes, the pleasure of interaction and the enthusiasm of the instructor were identified as the main reasons for satisfaction. It was analyzed that the satisfaction characteristic commonly derived from the four class types was the enthusiasm of the instructor. The results of this study are expected to provide implications for instructional design and teaching strategy establishment according to each instructional mode.
The elementary and middle school curriculum in Korea has been modified periodically to reach today's 7th national curriculum. Although the intent of each new curriculum was to improve education, lack of proper preparation for teachers and students has not made the new curriculums as effective as it could be. Goodlad et al.(1979) suggested that curriculum should encompass all practices including not only knowledge but all the elements of the curriculum and experiences of the student and teachers. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the actual practices of the current curriculum with focus on the use of instructional media in mathematics teaching and learning. A nationwide curriculum survey was carried out with the Goodlad's curriculum inquiry model as the framework. The result shows that elementary and secondary mathematics teachers used textbook manual (for teachers) and practice books most frequently for their class preparation. In addition to these, mathematics teachers also used manipulatives, visual aids, computers, internet, and calculators in a decreasing order. In general, many mathematics teachers did not use much instructional media in their classes and said that there are not enough effective instructional media to use. However, the teachers have positive attitude toward the educational media that they have used. In this study, we analyzed the survey data regarding educational tools, their use and effects to support the development of a new curriculum model in mathematics for a knowledge-based society.
The purpose of this study is to empirically structure the patterns of baby boomer retirees'consumption and their effects on depression in later life. Using the 5th wave of Korea Retirement and Income Study(KReIS) in 2013, of baby boomers born in 1955 to 1963, we analyzed those who were completely retired(n=420). The Latent Profile Analysis(LPA) classified the empirical patterns of consumption and then a multiple regression analyzed the effect of consumption patterns on depression among these baby boomer retirees. The LPA results showed that the consumption patterns consist of five groups: (1) Basic life-oriented class(26.9%), (2) Balanced consumption class(29.3%), (3) Social life-oriented class(18.3%), (4) Leisure-oriented class(18.5%), and (5) Education-oriented class(7.0%). Baby boomer retirees' depression was associated with their consumption patterns. Specifically, the basic life-oriented class showed significantly lower depression than the education-oriented class. Other correlates such as higher education, having no spouse, lower subjective health, greater limitations in physical functions, having a diagnosed disability, having fewer children, higher dissatisfaction with leisure activities, and lower self-perceived economic status were associated with higher levels of depression in this study. These findings suggest meaningful implications for gerontological policy and practice for baby boomer retirees in Korea. In light of vulnerable retirement preparation, social services specialized for baby boomers should consider financial education for revamping consumption scale beyond asset management and long-term case management of pre and post retirement cases.

This present study demonstrates the immunological synergistic effects of herbal preparation (HemoHIM) and red ginseng powder granule in various immune cell models (bone marrow-derived macrophages, dendritic cells, and mouse splenocytes) from mice. Both herbal preparation and red ginseng extracts were treated to bone-marrow derived macrophages, dendritic cells, and mouse splenocytes, and there was no cytotoxicity at a dose below $200{\mu}g/mL$. Cell proliferation and cytokine [tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-${\alpha}$, interleukin (IL)-6, and IL-12] production tested in bone marrow-derived macrophages and dendritic cells significantly increased upon combined treatment. Cell surface marker (CD 80/86, MHC class I/II)-mediated immune cell activation was highly elevated by combined treatment. For cytokine production in splenocytes, combined treatment significantly increased production of Th 1 type cytokines [IL-2 and interferon (IFN)-${\gamma}$] but not Th 2 type cytokines (IL-4 and IL-10). Therefore, combined treatment with HemoHIM and red ginseng extracts is an effective method to establish powerful immunological synergy in immune cells.

This study was conducted for 4 weeks on the preparation of the science teaching/learning course plan for 109 students in 4 classes of the 2nd year intensive course at B University of Education. Pre-service elementary teachers attended a two-week field training practice after listening to a lecture on how to write a science teaching and learning course plan. Pre-service elementary teachers tried to find out about the selection of materials and the degree of connection between the course plan and the class to prepare the science teaching/learning course plan. The researcher completed the questionnaire by reviewing and deliberation on the questionnaire questions together with 4 pre-service elementary teachers. The questionnaire related to the writing of the science teaching and learning course plan consists of 8 questions. Preferred reference materials when writing the course plan, the level of interest in learning, the success or failure of the science course plan and class, the science preferred model, the evaluation method in unit time, and the science teaching and learning One's own efforts to write the course plan, the contents of this course are the science faculty. It is composed of the preparation of the learning process plan and how helpful it is to the class. The results of this study are as follows. First, it was found that elementary school pre-service elementary teachers preferred teacher guidance the most when drafting science teaching and learning curriculum plans. Second, it is recognized that the development stage is very important in the teaching and learning stage of the science department. Third, Pre-service elementary teachers believe that the science and teaching and learning process plan has a high correlation with the success of the class. Fourth, it was said that the student's level, the teacher's ability, and the appropriate lesson plan had the most influence on the class. Fifth, it was found that pre-service elementary teachers prefer the inquiry learning class model. Sixth, it was found that reports and activity papers were preferred for evaluation in 40-minute classes. Seventh, it was stated that the teaching and learning process plan is highly related to the class, so it will be studied and studied diligently. Eighth, the method of writing a science teaching and learning course plan based on the instructional design principle is interpreted as very beneficial.

A remote cooperative studying system based on the Internet consists of a matching system of connecting remote class room with the others, a community system of making practical cooperative study by student's various. compensation and interaction, and a report system of sharing studying results and evaluating of studying achievements for individuals, groups and class. Especially I divide a course of cooperative studying into six parts; pre-preparation stage, group organization stage, interaction stage, result consultation stage, evaluation stage and follow-up stage. Because this system supply various interaction and responsible activity of groups, teachers naturally have confidence of education using ICT and students have basic ICT and the community-sense
In our previous study, Soamsan, a traditional Oriental medicine, was shown to enhance the induction of antigen-specific immune responses, and it was speculated that the enhancing activity might be closely associated with glycoproteins contained within the medicine. To elucidate this speculation, protein samples from each component, used in the preparation of Soamsan, were obtained and their immune stimulating activities were tested with mouse splenocytes. All the samples markedly enhanced the lymphocyte proliferation and cytokine secretion by the mouse splenocytes. In particular, the enhancement was significantly higher with the protein sample treatments than with those of the original crude sample. Furthermore, the pronase E- and $NaIO_4$-mediated inhibition of splenocyte-stimulation activity of the protein samples clearly supported that glycoproteins are the main class of active ingredients responsible for the lymphocyte stimulating activity of the samples. Consequently, our findings suggest that glycoproteins might have a pivotal role in Soamsan-mediated immune modulation, although the in vivo effect of the glycoproteins should be further elucidated.
