The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of a teacher's leadership (initiating and consideration), class climate, and friendship on academic attitudes. In order to accomplish this, 1,533 elementary school students were recruited. Descriptive statistics and path analysis were employed to examine relationships. The major findings of this study are as follows. First, there were positive correlations between academic attitudes and the teacher's leadership, class climate, and friendship. Second, results of path analysis illustrated that a teacher's leadership consideration indicator had a direct impact on class climate, friendship, and academic attitudes. Furthermore, the teacher's leadership consideration indirectly affected academic attitudes through mediation of class climate and friendship. However, the teacher's leadership initiating indicator did not have a direct impact on class climate, friendship, and academic attitude. The indices of the best fit model for these variables were adequate (GFI, NFI, CFI > 0.90). This study shows that the teacher's leadership consideration is the significant predictor for elementary school students' class climate, friendship, and academic attitudes. Finally, the meaning and limitations of this research, and its implications on academic assistance and intervention, are discussed in detail.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of small group inquiry skills on improving science process skills and attitudes toward science in elementary school science. The research questions of this study were as follows. First, effects of small group inquiry skills on improving science process skills in elementary school science. Second, effects of small group inquiry skills on improving attitudes toward science in elementary school science. The subjects of this study is two classes from 6th grade elementary classes in Busan. The experiment class practiced small group inquiry skills, while the control class practiced self inquiry. To verify the effect of the experiment, ANOVA was conducted. The main findings of this study are as follows. First, the small group inquiry skills gave a significant influence on increasing the science process skills, including the basic science process skills and the integrated science process skills, of students. Especially, among subordinate factors of science process skills between groups, it was effective to increase abilities of observing, reasoning, interpreting data, formulating hypothesis. It is necessary for teachers to make an effort to teach according to steps of the small group inquiry skills and to support inquiry activities, in order to increasing the science process skills. However, frequency of additional lessons have a little influence on increasing the science process skills. Second, there is meaningful change in the attitudes toward science for those who studied the small group inquiry skills. Also, they affected subordinate factors of the attitudes toward science, like the attitudes toward science inquiry, the happiness about science class. This study shows that the small group inquiry skills give a positive influence on the science process skills and attitudes toward science in elementary school science.

The effect of environmental instruction on students\` environmental attitudes was studied in two environmental classes and one business class of university undergraduates. Changes in students\` environmental attitudes were assessed from a questionnaire survey administered before and after exposure to a 16 week course. The results indicated statistically significant differences in students\` attitudes toward the environment between the pretest and the posttest. The two environmental classes had the positive effect and the students exhibited more environmentally favorable attitudes. Accordingly, this study confirmed the positive effect of environmental instruction on attitudes toward the environment at a university level.
The necessity of this study was to improve academic achievement and math attitudes through leveled reciprocal peer learning, and the specific purpose was as follows. First, each unit seeks to select learning methods and contents for each level of class for reciprocal peer learning, second, develop activity sites for each level through curriculum analysis, and third, improve academic achievement and math attitudes through classes that apply reciprocal peer learning activities. The study was conducted on 60 second graders of 00 High School in 00 Metropolitan City. Two classes were selected for the midterm exam results for the first semester of the second grade. Class 1 was divided into the experimental group and the other class 1 was divided into the comparative group, and 13 classes were conducted for about 2 months from May 1 to July 4, 2020. The experimental group (30 students) was a class that applied leveled reciprocal peer learning activities, and the comparative group (30 students) was a class that was taught based on traditional textbooks. As a result of this study, first, in this study, it was possible to improve academic achievement and math attitudes by setting learning contents for each unit and applying reciprocal peer learning activities for each level. Second, the experimental group taught by applying leveled reciprocal peer learning activities was effective in academic achievement and math attitudes compared to the comparative group taught based on traditional textbooks to students in the upper, middle, and lower groups. Third, in the class applying leveled reciprocal peer learning activities, low-level students who were neglected in math classes were also interested in the class and actively participated in it, showing improvement.
This study aims to investigate the effect of a scientific inquiry worksheet-making class program on pre-service elementary school teachers' attitudes toward science and scientific inquiry in the class of elementary school science educational theory at education university. As for research subjects, this study selected 141 pre-service elementary school teachers who were in the third year of education university. The results of this study can be summarized as below. First, it was found that the scientific inquiry worksheet-making class program improved pre-service elementary school teachers' attitudes toward science and helped them realize it important to have knowledge about science, further making them find it more enjoyable to teach science at school in the future. Second, it was found that the scientific inquiry worksheet-making class program had positive effect on pre-service elementary school teachers' attitudes toward scientific inquiry. In other words, they came to think of inquiry-based learning styles as an important course of science class. Third, as a result of carrying out open-ended questions about what would be helpful in an actual education site through the scientific inquiry worksheet-making class program, this study found out that most of the research subjects responded it would be helpful when applying a class model, and thought it would be helpful for elementary school students to have scientific knowledge and understand the process of inquiry.
Problem-centered learning reflects learning strategy based on constructivism. In this learning, students should find the solution in a small group discussion, and share their solutions with classmates in whole class discussion. So students participate in mathematics instruction actively and interact with other students about the strategies. We expect students would change their attitudes on mathematics and mathematical learning in these processes. In this study, we analyzed students' attitudes on mathematics and mathematical learning when they participated the problem-centered learning program. We found the change of students' attitudes to mathematics via problem-centered learning.
The purpose of this study is to examine the efforts of cooperative loaming through a student team-achievement division(STAD) model on elementary school students' learning achievements and science ,elated attitudes toward the field of astronomy. This study was conducted using 72 students of the fifth-grade class in a elementary school in Busan. The 18 science lessons of the 'Family of the sun' were executed over 6 weeks in the fifth-year students classes. In this study, the experimental group were exposed to cooperative learning through STAD and the contrast group were exposed to a traditional teacher-centered class. The results show that the STAD class of the experimental group had a greater effect upon the elementary school students' science learning achievement and science related attitudes toward the field of astronomy than those of the comparison group. Additionally, the students recognized that cooperative learning provokes both interest in loaming and in their studies generally and also they expressed a desire to continue with cooperative teaming methods.

Space perception ability test and scientific attitudes test was used to find the effect of the science-based steam astronomical learning program. And the results were analyzed by spsswin 18.0. The results of this study were as follows. First, the science-based STEAM astronomical learning program was a positive effects on space perception ability of elementary students. Second, the science-based STEAM astronomical learning program was a positive effects on scientific attitudes of elementary students. According to this research, the science-based STEAM astronomical learning program was verified to improve space perception ability and scientific attitudes on the elementary students.
This study was a part of large scale of a prospective study on attitudes of professional students in medicine, nursing and teaching toward population related issues in Korea. The study was first conducted in May 1974 and then in May 1975 for the 1974 class cohot using a questionaire consisted of attitude scales and other items developed by Lee. The purpose of stuay was twohold, namely, to determine the difference in students among specializations on one hand and between the first and second years in the 1974 class cohot regarding tile subject matter. A one-way analysis of variance was used for attitude scale, and absolute and relative frequency were computed for the analysis of non-attitude scale items by employing Fishers' Ratio and Duncan's multiple range test at 5% level and chi square test at 5% level as significance tests. The hypothesis 'students in health profession are more likely to have positive attitudes toward population related issues progressively as class year advances than students in teaching profession' was tested and the following results were obtained: 1) Nursing students were more likely to display favarable attitudes toward family planning than medical or teaching students although the class cohot showed slightly negative improvement in the second year. Medical and teaching students apperaed to have slightly improved attitudes in the second year. 2) Respondents in general perceived national family planning program as a means of population control and this tendency was more true among nursing students as the class year advances than two other professional groups of students. Students in teaching profession appeared to perceive it more as a means to improve individual family welfare while health students were likely to see as to improve maternal and child health. This tendency was progressively improved as the class year advanced. 3) The majority of students regardless of their respective specializations believed that family planning program should be directed toward the improvement of individual family welfare. No progressive changes in the class cohot were observed. 4) About the plan to use contraceptives in future, no singnificant differences were observes among different specializations nor in different class years. However, the majority was confirmed to have a plan to use contracepives in future. An increasing proportion of the undecided category was observed, as class year advanced among health students. 5) Students in health profession were found to be more favorable about 'more leisure opportunities' as motive for limiting number of children whereas education students indicated the reasons as 'facilitate ambitions' and 'economic base' The progressive changes toward positive direction in both groups were observed as the class years advanced. 6) Attitudes toward induced abortions of the health students were observed to be positively related to class years while an inverse relationship was found in teaching students who showed much less favor in the subject matter than health students. This phenomenon may be due to the different exposure to learning environments unique to respective specializations. 7) Health students were found to have more favorable attitudes toward population education in general than the teaching students. The teaching students appeared to have changed more to the negative direction when they became the second year while no such development was observed in health students. The teaching students seemed to hold a very conservative position with regard to sex education in schools. 8) About the equality of sexes, the nursing group was found to be most favorable while the reverse was true in the teaching group. A change in the negative direction as the class year advanced was found in the teaching group. 9) About questions related to fertility values-the 10 percent of respondents regardless of specialization indicated that they would maintain their single status in future, however no change was observed in the second year. The desired number of children was found to be two by the majority of students in nursing, medicine and teaching in order of high proportion. No changes in a different class year were observed. The childless marriage was seen by nursing students as a problem more than other students, but a slight change in positive direction was found when the nursing students became the second year. In summing, as data supported in the above, students in health profession demonstrated more favorable attitudes toward population related issues than the teaching students and this tendency became more apparent in the second year. It was noticed that health students were more conscious about the health aspect of population and family planning program while the teaching students gave more attention to the socioeconomic aspect. The sex variable seemed to have operated in the item related to the equality of sexes. In conclusion, as data presented in the above, the hypothesis of this study was accepted except in the few items. It should be noted that the limitation of this study is the short duration of the observation in measuring the possible attitude changes. It should include curriculum analysis for the respective specializations in order to indentify the area of curriculum impact on students in future study.
