The aim of this study was to examine the longitudinal effect of Pre-service Teacher Education Program for Children's Creativity. The participants of this study were 67 pre-service teachers in Seoul, Kyungggi-do, and Chungcheong-do, Korea. Thirty-six pre-service teachers were assigned to the control group and pre-service teachers were assigned to the experimental group. Pre-service teacher's creativity was measured in three times. TTCT was applied to measure pre-service teacher's creativity and their children's creativity. Multivariate Latent Growth Model was applied to verify the effect of the program on pre-service teacher's creativity. Also, Multiple Regression was used to examine the effect of the program on their children's creativity. As a result, the participation of the program was longitudinally effective on not only pre-service teacher's creativity development but also their children's creativity. The results of current study suggested that it is necessary to help the pre-service teachers foster their creativity in early childhood teacher preparation program.
Objective: The purpose of this research was to examine the effects of an 'Ice' project, a topic chosen based on children's interests to discover the improvement of scientific and mathematical abilities, and creativity of four-year-old children. Methods: For this research, 34 four-year-old children from M childcare center were selected. Seventeen children were placed in the experimental group and the remaining 17 children were placed in the comparison group. After the project was completed, to observe the differences between the two groups, the Mann-Whitney U test was conducted. Results: First, the 'Ice' project had an effect on improving children's scientific abilities and its subfactors. Second, the 'Ice' project hadsignificant effects on improving children's algebraic and geometric mathematical skills. Third, excluding the resistance to premature closure among the subfactors of creativity, the 'Ice' project contributed to improve children's creativity and all sub-factors. Conclusion/Implications: The 'Ice' project activities, a subject chosen from the interests of children, led active play participation from children and brought positive effects in immersion of play and activity. Such effects proved to affect children's scientific abilities, mathematical abilities, and creativity, and suggest this research can be used as base line data in follow-up research on various project activities.
This study developed the Creative Classroom Climate Scale(CCCS) for Elementary Students, verified its validity and reliability, and examined relationships among creative thinking, personality and motivation. Three professionals examined the content validity of the CCCS after the items were developed by the researcher. The CCCS and the Creativity Inventory for Young Students(CIS; Choe & Lee, 2004) were administered to 266 6th grade students. Results showed that the CCCS was valid and reliable including the sub-factors of Support, Trust, Tension, Playfulness, Conflict, Challenge and Communication. The sub-factors correlated significantly with total scores. CIS scores varied by the creative climate of the classrooms on the CCCS; creative motivation was especially influenced by classroom climate.
The purpose of this study were to develop a rating scale for screening preschoolers' creative characteristics and to examine the validity and reliability of this scale. The subjects were 85 4-5 year olds, their mothers, and teachers in Seoul. The preliminary scale of the Rating Scale for Creative Characteristics of Preschoolers(RSCCP)'was developed as a 47-item 5-point rating scale and consisted of 5 factors. 5 factors. 5 factors were 'uniqueness=-curiosity', 'openness-humor', 'sensitivity-many interest', 'imagination-playfulness', and 'independence-perseverance'. The inter-correlations among the 5 factors ranged from .31-.71. For the criterion validity, Wallach & Kogan's Creativity Test(Foster, 1971) and children's drawing were used, and for the convergence validity, the scores rated by mothers and the scores rated by leachers were compared. Test-retest reliability was .69 and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ ranged from .76-.90. There found no significant correlations between the RSCCP scale and the 2 criterion tests, and the paired t-test for the total scores of the scale rated by the mothers and the teachers showed no differences.

Parenthood, the satisfactions it provides and the demands it makes, varies as life progresses : and changes with the parent's interests, needs, and age as well as with the children's maturation. There are phases in the child's life that the parents are reluctant to have pass, whereas they tolerate others largely through knowing that they will soon be over. The changing lives of the children provide many satisfactions that offset the tribulations, uncertainties, and regrets. The parents change. The young father, who was just starting on his carrier whom the first child was born, settles into a life pattern. He becomes secure with increasing achievement and interacts differently with the youngest child and provides a different model for him than for the oldest. The mother may have less time for a second or third child than for her first, but she may also be more assured in her handling of them. The birth of a baby when the parents art in their late thirties will find them Less capable of physical exertion with the child and less tolerant of annoyances, but they are less apt to be annoyed. The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception and needs on development of lecture to promote creative personality of pre-service teachers. The subjects were 161 students in 4th grade in early childhood education department. The questionnaire was composed of 3 items of 'recognition of creativity personality lecture' and 7 items of 'demand of development for creativity personality lecture'. The data was analyzed frequency and percentage by descriptive statistics. In the results, first, most of pre-service teachers recognized the importance on development of creativity personality lecture, and support of 'development and application of creativity personality lecture'. They recognized that creativity personality lecture was effective. Second, more than half of them responded that they would take creativity personality lecture, and this lecture was most appropriate 2 courses and 3 hours 10 weeks per semester. They demanded a lot of propensity element among creativity education elements, convergence classes in various fields, teaching medium for 'movie and music', and 'portfolio evaluation'.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to develop a music making program that utilizes the characteristics of the picture books medium through the ADDIE model so that teachers can easily apply it to children, and to determine whether it affects children's musical aptitude and music creativity. Methods: The Participants of the study were 42 five-year-old children attending a daycare in Seoul, of which 20 were in the experimental group and 22 in the comparative group. The experimental group participated in a music production program using picture books, and during the same period, the comparison group participated in music activities suggested by the Nuri Course. Using the SPSS 22.0 program, average, standard deviation, independent sampling t-test, and ANCOVA(Analysis of Covariance) were calculated. Results: The music making program using picture books improved children's rhythm and tone which are the sub-items of music aptitude. The music making program enhanced children's music flexibility, music creativity, music logic which are the sub-items of music creativity. Conclusion/Implications: The music making program presented systemic teaching-learning method with which teachers explained the modeling and practiced from simple activities to various activities repeatedly in order to make teachers approach music making more easily. It is recommendable to make the music making program by using I-pad and computers.
Objective: This research aims to examine the effect of a young children's engineering-focused STEAM program based on the project approach - a program that constructs components aligned with children's interests in their play through an engineering design process - on their scientific inquiry ability, mathematical problem-solving ability, and creativity. Methods: In this research, 42 five-year-old children from a public kindergarten in S district, I city, were randomly divided into experimental and comparative groups, each with 21 children. The engineering-focused STEAM program was conducted from April 18 to June 10, 2022, with the experimental group exploring the 'car' theme and the comparison group focusing on a different theme. The study employed an independent sample t-test and analysis of covariance(ANCOVA), using the pretest as a covariate to control variables. Results: The children-selected 'cars' themed engineering-focused STEAM program was effective in enhancing their scientific inquiry ability, mathematical problem-solving ability and creativity. Conclusion/Implications: The engineering-focused STEAM program, which emerges from young children's interesting daily play, had positive effects on enhancing their scientific inquiry ability, mathematical problem-solving ability, and creativity. This research can serve as fundamental data for developing education programs focused on engineering within the STEAM framework, guided by children's emergent play.
This study was carried out qualitative study to figure out the process of the perception of creativity conception by kindergarten teachers in Korea. The interviewees are 4 current teachers in kindergarten in Seoul. Data was collected from semi-structured in-depth interview. Collected data were analyzed using Modified Grounded Theory Approach by Kinoshita, a kind of qualitative research method. As a result of data analysis, kindergarten teachers who experts in child education understood key concepts of creativity as unique thinking and rich expression ability. Such concept is mainly acquired at the class in which direct encounter with children is made. Besides, they formed the concept of creativity through reading books and articles, graduate studies and teaching Nuri Curriculum. In the preceding studies on the concept of creativity targeted to elementary and secondary school teachers, they had shared wide concept, but kindergarten teachers shared only some key concepts on creativity. This result would mean that the concept of creativity in the early children education is relatively coherent and such concept and teaching method are relatively well delivered to children at the education field.
Objective: This study aimed to examine the predictors of indoor play behaviors using cluster analyses. Methods: Data from 963 children (age 4 years) who participated in the $5^{th}$ phase of the Panel Study of Korean Children, their parents, and their teachers were analyzed using K-means clustering analyses, F-tests and multinomial logistic regression analyses. Results: The clustering analyses revealed three distinctive profiles: positive-theme oriented, general-exploratory/manipulative, and negative-exploratory/manipulative groups. Child characteristics, including cognition, language, and social level, and teachers' age were significantly associated with the groups in a different way; the clusters were partially different in the gender and creativity of children, interaction level of teachers' interaction, classroom environment, and program types that children attended. Conclusion: Findings revealed three clusters of play behaviors and highlighted the importance of the ecological variables that determined the clusters.
