The Effects of Character Education Program Applying Mindfulness Diary for Middle School Students (유념 다이어리를 활용한 중학생 인성교육 프로그램의 효과)

  • This study aimed to examine the effects of the character education program applying mindfulness diary in 'H' girls' middle school, which is implemented as a practical character education at the school level while supplementing the limitations of existing character education programs. To achieve this, the pre- and post-design of a single treatment group in which data were collected over three time periods over two years for all 182 enrolled students was conducted. As a result of repeated measures of ANOVA to examine the significant mean change in the data, this program significantly improved the level of self-control, prosocial behavior, and gratitude of students. This was not only showing a significant improvement one year after the start of the program, but also showing a continuous significant improvement even one year later. Based on the above results, the implications and suggestions of this study were discussed.

A Study on the Development of Parents' Character Competency Reinforcement Program for the Prevention of Child Abuse (아동학대 예방을 위한 부모 인성역량 강화 프로그램 개발 연구)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is developing parents' character competency reinforcement program for the prevention of child abuse based on the critical competencies suggested by Character Education Promotion Act. Methods: For the development of the program, the literature review about child abuse prevention program in domestic and international research was conducted. Also, we conducted focus group interviews with kindergarten (n = 3) and elementary school (n = 4) teachers who experienced abusive parents for grasping their characteristics as a qualitative data collecting strategy. Results: As a result, parents' character competency reinforcement program for the prevention of child abuse was composed of a total of 7 activities; 'Understanding me and child', 'Anger management training for parent', 'Improving effective communication skill with child', 'Practicing two-way communication with child', 'Arts and Culture experience with child', 'Understanding my and child's feelings', 'We need a whole village to raise a child'. This program curriculum can be greatly four parents' character competency parts; self-management competency, communication competency, sensitivity competency, community competency. Conclusion/Implications: The program developed in this research can utilize the basic framework of the program to strengthen parent's toughness ability and it is crucial to develop customized toughness capacity increasing plan according to parent's characteristics It will be essential information.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a personality education program for university students based on animation. The selection of the animation media to be used in the character education program to cultivate the eight core value virtues, eg, efficacy, honesty, responsibility, respect, consideration, communication and cooperation, Based on the eight elements of self - identity of college students, such as job, religion, politics, philosophical lifestyle, friendship, heterosexuality, gender roles and leisure activities. The process of developing personality education program model and activity based on animation of this college student is as follows. The necessity of developing personality education program for college students, Setting basic direction of character education program based on animation, Selection of animation media, Development of personality education program model based on animation, Development of personality education program activity based on animation of self identification, And finalization of personality education program based on final animation. In this study, a total of 16 characters were developed according to the sub - factors of self - identity in the personality education program of university students based on animation.

  • This article aims to suggest a principle frame and direction for the development of the character education program using Maumgram. Maumgram is said to clearly illustrate step-by-step structures of character education, for which the human mind is classified as four types(indulged type, rage-type, competition type, selfishness type) on the basis of the existing analytical psychology and Yogacara Thought. The design of the mind type program is composed of three steps. The first step is the 'discovery' step to awaken the cause of self-consciousness through observation, and the second is the 'conversion' step. Learning process to control the negative desires in a positive desire, and the third is the 'relationship'-oriented step to promote a sense of community with other people.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the journal of reflection of students who participated in the character improvement education program. And it is a study that suggests ways to develop the program according to the results of analysis. Then, by collecting 208 reflective journals of students who participated in Milal training at K University, After the analysis was performed in the process of transcription, coding, and subject discovery, reliability was secured by calculating the Kappa coefficient for the analysis frame and analysis suitability. According to the results of the analysis of reflection journal. Through Milal training, the Milal spirit was understood as sacrificial service (sacrifice, devotion, lowering, serving, death, decay) and Milal (reproduction). We confirmed that It will have a life attitude related to the themes of labor (hardwork, work, patience, patience, perseverance). It can be said that through Milal training, self-reflection activities can be promoted, community character and collaboration skills can be cultivated, and the spirit of sacrificial service can be acquired. Through the results of this reflection journal analysis, it is necessary to further enhance the Milal training program, and it will be possible to provide implications to the character cultivation programs of other universities.

  • The purpose of this study was to spread the education of human creativity program and its possibility of consistency, and its application to school system by exploring the evaluation system that determines the valuable and useful decisions. This study was based on the evaluation system according to CIPP model regarding the program's general ideas and its role. The interest of the education of human creativity was increasing as well as its progress of program, and we searched 13 figures and 55 evaluation index according to increase the program's effectiveness and nation-wise situation of evaluation model. The conclusion of this study was that the human creativity program's evaluation was composed of six compartments. And the context evaluation was composed of three evaluation models and eleven index, and input evaluation was composed of three evaluation model and 15 index, while process evaluation is composed of three evaluation models and thirteen evaluation index. Lastly, output evaluation had four evaluation model and sixteen index.

  • The purpose of this study was the children learn character education situation and the desire of parents to recognize there is a purpose. In D city, the data collected was intended for 170 parents percentage of the frequency analysis SPSS program was performed multiple responses cross-validation analysis, and difference. As a result, first, it has the highest awareness of the need for Children Personality care and education of parents interest also highest. Third, Children need for parent participation of character education should be made a parent education involvement in what is the result of Children character education out and it was found that it should be carried out life guidance program of parent education programs for Children character education.

A Study on Analysis of Teachers' Recognition on Field Practice and Effectiveness of Creativity and Character Education (창의·인성교육의 현장 실천도 및 효과성에 관한 교사들의 인식 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate teachers' recognition on field practice and effectiveness of creativity and character education. This study used post tests to examine the effects of teacher training for creativity and character education on 451 teachers. The results were as follows. Firstly, the average in satisfaction of teacher training for creativity and character education was 4.65 for elementary teachers and 4.35 for secondary teachers in summer, and 4.55 for elementary teachers and 4.42 for secondary teachers in winter. Secondly, effectiveness of teacher training on creativity and character education was showed highly as more than 4.0 and was higher in winter than in summer. Thirdly, in the case of field practice and effectiveness of teacher training for creativity and character education, the average of elementary teachers(3,66) was higher in respect of educational environment than that of secondary teachers(3.20) and the averages of elementary teachers and secondary teachers were 3.85 and 3.42 in respect of subject activity, respectively. In practising creativity and character education, it was analyzed that both elementary(ave. 3.89) and secondary(ave. 3.84) teachers went through some difficulties for curriculum reconstruction, development of instructional model, program development, and human and physical supports.

An Empirical Study on the Sub-factors of Middle School Character Education using Social Network Analysis (사회 네트워크 분석을 이용한 중등 인성 교육의 세부요인에 관한 실증 연구)

  • The advancements in scientific technology and information network in the 21st century allow us to easily acquire a desired knowledge. In the midst of today's informatization, globalization, and cultural diversification, adolescents experience emotional confusion while accommodating diverse cultures and information. This study aimed at examining three aspects of character suggested by the Ministry of Education, which are ethics, sociality, and emotion, and the actual sub-factors required for character education. To that end, a survey was conducted with adolescents who were at a character-building age, and social network analysis (SNA) was performed to determine the effect of character education on the sub-factors. The statistics program SPSS was used to investigate the general traits of the subjects and the validity of the research variables. The 2-mode data that were finally selected were converted to 2-mode data using NetMinder 4, which is a network analysis tool. Furthermore, a data network was established based on a quasi-network that represents the relationships between ethics, sociality, and emotion. The results of this study showed that the subjects considered honesty and justice to be the sub-domains of the ethics domain. In addition, they identified sympathy, communication, consideration for others, and cooperation as the sub-domains of the sociality domain. Finally, they believed that self-understanding and self-control were the sub-domains of the emotion domain.

Education program development for early childhood character through Nuri curriculum (누리과정 중심의 그림책 활용 유아인성교육 프로그램 개발)

  • This research analyzes the character factor in picture book, so the purpose is to develop the early childhood character program through Nuri curriculum. Picture book is the most familiar media for childhoods, and we are available it naturally in our lives. For this first, we analyze 6 elements(consideration, respect, cooperation, sharing, order, filial duty) in teacher's guide of the Nuri curriculum. Next, consulting the analyzed factors, the 12 picture books which will be utilized this program are chosen by the standard like literary, artistic, educational value. The chosen picture book devised total 12 times education plan to design each 2 times education plan in the factors for teacher's guide of Nuri curriculum. Lastly, it was finally developed through validation process by 2 teachers and 2 the professors of early childhood education. The developed program is needed later field application and It is required of the effectiveness verification after we apply 12 times activities on each age of childhoods for 3 to 5 years od in education field, so it may improve elements like consideration, respect, cooperaion, sharing, order, filial duty as childhoods experience this program personally. Also, this can provide it to teachers in childhood eucation field as study guidance plan.
