풍자 잡지 「펀치」를 통해 본 19세기 영국 사회의 수학에 대한 인식 변화 : 수학 시험의 확대와 수학 교육의 수요 변화를 중심으로 (Changes in England society's perception of mathematics in the 19th century through the satirical magazine Punch: Focusing on the expansion of mathematics tests and changes in demand for mathematics education)

  • This paper aims to examine how the public perception of mathematics changed in England in the 19th century. As rapid industrial and social developments took place in the 19th century, the educational environment underwent great changes, and the value and public perception of mathematics also changed. Mathematics took a new position in the terrain of educational reform in the late 19th century. In this study, I analyzed the actual condition of mathematics education in elementary and secondary schools, popular educational institutions, and universities in England in the first half, middle, and second half of the 19th century, and compared what values and usefulness of mathematics education were justified in each institution. I also examined how satirical magazine Punch satirized the public understanding or view on mathematics at each period. It is to be hoped that this study will have significant implications for raising the public's positive perception of mathematics in modern society.

프로젝트 기반 학습에 대한 예비 수학교사의 태도 변화 (Changing in Perception of Pre-Mathematics Teachers about Project-Based Learning.)

  • 교육이 교수자 중심에서 학습자 중심으로 변화되면서 학습자의 능동적 지식 구성이 중요시되고 있으며 이러한 변화와 함께 프로젝트 기반 학습이 주목받고 있다. 하지만 기존의 연구는 초 중 고등학생들에게 초점이 맞추어져 있어 연구의 내용 및 결과를 예비 교사들에게 그대로 적용하는 데는 어려움이 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 예비 수학교사들의 중 고등학교시절 학습자 중심 수업에 대한 경험과 프로젝트 기반 학습을 1년 동안 진행하여 그들의 태도 변화를 알아보았다. 예비 수학교사들은 중 고등학교시절 그룹 토론과 모둠 활동보다 프로젝트 기반 학습에 대한 경험이 상대적으로 적었으며 그들의 태도에 대해 요인분석을 진행한 결과 '수업효과, 프로젝트 기반 학습의 활용 및 참여', '성취감', '프로젝트 기반 학습의 보급', '학생의 동기 부여'의 다섯 가지 요인으로 분류되었다. 예비 수학교사들은 학생들의 동기를 부여할 수 있다는 태도에 대해서는 긍정적인 태도의 변화를 보였으나 프로젝트 기반 학습의 보급에 대해서는 부정적인 태도 변화를 보였다. 그리고 교사의 성취감에 대한 태도에 대해 긍정적인 태도 변화를 보였으나 교사가 프로젝트 기반 학습을 활용하는 것은 즐거운 일이라는 태도에 대해서는 부정적인 태도 변화가 나타났다. 또한, 교사와 학생이 프로젝트 기반 학습을 활용하거나 수행하는 것은 쉬운 일이라는 태도에 대해서는 긍정적인 태도의 변화가 나타났다.

광원색에 의한 실내공간의 지각변화에 관한 실험연구 (An Experimental Study on the Impact of the Visual Perception by the Change of the Lighting Sources Color)

  • This study suggests the optimum interior environment by projecting the criteria to design the living space light-ing that select the lighting environment among the sever-al environmental factors that influenced on the human perception. As a correspondance between the visual perception and the lighting, visual perception process, vision system, and visual perception system are investigated to compre-hend the lighting, and then conceptual contour of the lighting environments are presented which are transmit-ted the visual informations. As a lighting factors which are influenced on the visu-al perception, light source color is analized. Foundationally, the effect of the lighting methods and the techniques are investigated, and the changes of the lighting methods which influences on the space perception are examined through the previous results. As the changing the light sources color, the changing the subjective feelings of space perception through the ex-periment. This study is concluded with the proposition of the ef-fective lighting and the importance of the lighting envi-ronment.

Cellular machinery for sensing mechanical force

  • For mechanical force to induce changes in cellular behaviors, two main processes are inevitable; perception of the force and response to it. Perception of mechanical force by cells, or mechanosensing, requires mechanical force-induced conformational changes in mechanosensors. For this, at least one end of the mechanosensors should be anchored to relatively fixed structures, such as extracellular matrices or the cytoskeletons, while the other end should be pulled along the direction of the mechanical force. Alternatively, mechanosensors may be positioned in lipid bilayers, so that conformational changes in the embedded sensors can be induced by mechanical force-driven tension in the lipid bilayer. Responses to mechanical force by cells, or mechanotransduction, require translation of such mechanical force-induced conformational changes into biochemical signaling. For this, protein-protein interactions or enzymatic activities of mechanosensors should be modulated in response to force-induced structural changes. In the last decade, several molecules that met the required criteria of mechanosensors have been identified and proven to directly sense mechanical force. The present review introduces examples of such mechanosensors and summarizes their mechanisms of action.

블라인드연동 LED조명의 조광제어에 따른 재실자의 밝기 변화 인식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Perception of the Brightness Change according to Daylight Responsive LED Dimming Systems and Venetian Blind)

  • This study has attempted to investigate how subjects perceive changes of brightness and their visual comfort according to daylight responsive LED(Light Emitting Diode) dimming systems in the office with venetian blind. Two studies was conducted. First study is that how subjects perceive changes of brightness and their visual comfort depending on angle control method of the venetian blind while the workplane illuminance level is being maintained through daylight responsive LED dimming system. Second study is that how subjects perceive changes of brightness and their visual comfort depending on the amount of daylight penetrated into the building while the illuminance level is being maintained through daylight responsive LED dimming system. The results of this study could be proposed as basic data in the control of the venetian blind and LED lighting in consideration of their perception on changes of brightness and visual comfort.

Study on the Relationship Among Perception Changes to Pre COVID-19, Leisure Satisfaction, Work-Family Conflict, and Life Satisfaction of Married Working Women

  • The outbreak of COVID-19 has significantly impacted various facets of individuals' lives, including perceptions, leisure activities, work-family balance, and overall life satisfaction. This study aims to explore the intricate relationships among changes in perceptions due to COVID-19, leisure activity satisfaction, work-family conflict, and life satisfaction of married working women. Employing path analysis, we examined a dataset of 1,973 married working women drawn from the 8th Korean Women and Families Panel Survey. The findings indicate that while changes in perception associated with COVID-19 did not directly affect leisure activity satisfaction and life satisfaction, they did significantly decrease work-family conflict, indirectly leading to heightened life satisfaction. Additionally, leisure activity satisfaction emerged as a mitigating factor for work-family conflict, contributing to enhanced life satisfaction. These results emphasize the importance of understanding the interplay between external factors, individual perceptions, and well-being, offering insights for devising tailored strategies. The study holds significance in guiding policies and interventions to enhance the quality of life for married working women in the context of evolving pandemic challenges.

An Analysis of Perceptions of Students toward Software Education according to School Level

  • In this paper, we propose students' perception of software education according to the type of school. So, in this study, 47373 students were surveyed about the perception of SW education, and the results of the questionnaire were analyzed according to school type, gender, school level, experience of software education and event, and duration of software education experience. As a result, students attending software education lead schools showed the highest perception about software education, followed by software education research school and general school. In gender, males were more positive than females. The level of satisfaction and effectiveness of software education in school level was higher as the school level was lower, but the perception and career area of software education was higher as the school level was higher. In addition, software training and event experience have a positive effect on students' perception of software education, and the perception of software education changes positively as the duration of software education increases.

관상동맥질환 환자들에서 스트레스와 관상동맥 협착 간의 관계 (The Relationhip between Stress and Coronary Artery Stenosis in Patients with Coronary Artery Diseases)

  • The object of this study was to investigate the relationship between stress and the extent of coronary artery stenosis in 101 patients with coronary artery diseases. Global assessment of recent stress(GARS) scale and perceived stress response inventory were used to measure perception for stressors and stress responses. Biological variables such as the extent of coronary artery stenosis, the number of the affected lesions on coronary angiography, serum Low Density Lipoprotein(LDL)-cholesterol, High Density Lipoprotein(HDL)-cholesterol, and total cholesterol were measured in all the subjects. Scores of perceived stress related to changes in relationship and overall global scores on GARS scale had significantly positive correlation with the extent of coronary artery stenosis. On the other hand, scores of percieved stress related to changes in relationship and changes or no changes in routine had significantly positive correlation with the number of the lesions. Scores of perceived stress related to change or no change in routine also positively correlated with serum level of LDL-cholesterol and total cholesterol. In contrast, general somatic symptoms negatively correlated with the extent of coronary artery stenosis. Impulsive-aggressive behavior negatively correlated with the number of the lesions. However, impulsive-aggressive thinking positively correlated with LDL-cholesterol. The above results suggest that perception for stressors may negatively affect the extent of coronary artery stenosis, the number of the lesions, serum LDL-cholesterol and total cholesterol. However, some stress responses showed inconsistent effect on the above biological variables. Thus, strategies designed to modify perception for stressors and some stress responses are likely to help the patients minimize the extent of coronary artery stenosis and prevent the diseases.

노인 운전자의 운전 위험성 자각 특성 분석 (Analyzing Driving Risk Self-Perception Characteristics of Elderly Drivers)

  • 노인 운전자는 기능저하로 인해 사고 위험성이 증가하지만 스스로 변화를 점검하는 자가-조절 능력 또한 발달한다. 이에 실제 노인 운전자가 운전 능력과 위험성 변화에 대응하는 특성에 대한 정보는 노인의 운전 능력 평가 현장과 연구에 의미있는 근거를 제공할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 한국 노인 운전자의 운전 위험성 자각 특성을 운전 중 행동과 운전관련 기능변화의 측면에서 분석하여 노인 운전자 평가를 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는 것이다. 지역사회에 거주하는 노인 운전자 500명을 대상으로 자가-보고식 평가를 실시하고 노인 운전자의 운전 위험성 자각 징후를 분석하였다. 그 결과 다수의 노인 운전자가 시각 및 청각이 저하되거나 운전 여건 변화에 적응하는데 어려움을 느낄 때 운전 위험성을 자각하는 특성이 있음을 확인하였다. 반면, 약물 복용이나 간질, 발작, 의식손실 등 의학적 건강 상태 변화에는 둔감하게 반응하는 특성이 확인되었다. 본 연구 결과가 고령화가 가속화되는 한국의 노인 운전자 안전 관리에 기여할 수 있기를 기대한다.

경도의 발달장애 아동의 시지각 및 주의력 향상을 위한 시기능 훈련의 임상사례 (Clinical cases of vision therapy for visual perception and attention enhancement of children with mild developmental disabilities)

  • Purpose. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of visual field training on visual function, visual perception and attention enhancement. Methods. We examined the changes of visual function and visual perception tests for children with mild developmental disabilities through vision therapy. Results. At the time of the initial visit of the child, the ability to control not only distant and near visual function, but also accommodation, was also very limited. Also, the visual perception score was measured at 80 points. Through vision therapy, it was confirmed that the improvement of control ability as well as the visual function and visual perception function test results were also improved to 108 points. Conclusion. It was confirmed that vision therapy results in an improvement of visual function, improved visual perception ability, as well as visual perception ability, It was concluded that visual function affected visual perception, and that vision therapy used in order to prevent visual function deterioration was found to be very helpful.
