The key competition factor of manufacturing industries has progressively changed from cost to quality and time. Recently, the manufacturing environments more rapidly change than before. So, many companies want to introduce a advanced manufacturing system like CIMS to meet various user's needs and short delivery. But there is a considerable gap between the decision to invest and the achievement of promised benefits. Managers, generally, cannot afford CIM invesment unless they can determine beforehand that CIM will work in thier company and that will provide a coherent strategy and satisfactory return on investment In many cases, it is impossible to justify CIM investment by only economical analysis. Decision making problems like CIM investment are of a multiple objective nature. So, decision making process and multiattribute utility function are very useful methods to evaluate CIM justification In this paper, we described the key functions of CIM justification evaluation using IDEF methodology and developed the applicattion procedure of DMP and MUF method for CIM justification.

Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) is undoubtedly one of the most influential concepts to have been introduced into the manufacturing world in recent times. The successful CIM application is greatly depended on the way of the approach to given manufacturing environments. This paper reports a new approach in building CIM systems trough the development of a poen cell controller.
Due to the inherent complexity in the CIM operation, achieving the triple, meeting duedates, maximizing machine utilization, and maximizing system throughput simultaneously is practically impossible. Targeting the small-to-medium size industries of Korea, we propose an exrert system that 'provides a good and practical solution to the CIM operation problems. Heavy consideration has given to the real-time and dynamic nature of CIM in the development process of the system. The system is under testing stage at KU-FMS, model CIM plant.

Nowadays, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) has been a competitive edge of many companies. It is critical for companies to get and maintain profitable customers. For the purpose of sustaining this competitive edge, companies should manage the Customer Information (CI) more effectively The major goais of this research are 1) to identify the activities of the Customer Information Management (CIM) and the factors influencing on the CIM, 2) to show the relationship between the proficiency of the CIM and the CI Quality, and 3) to verify the mediating effects of the proficiency of the CIM Process between the influencing factors and the CI Quality. An empirical study was undertaken to test the hypotheses with data from 65 companies. Multiple regression analysis and ANOVA were employed to test the hypotheses. We found that 1) there are 6 activities in the CIM process and 5 factors affecting the CIM, 2) the proficiency of the CIM process is closely related to the CI Quality, and 3) the proficiency of the CIM process plays the mediator between the influencing factors and the CI Quality.

Distribution systems for operating the various systems should be operated organically. Distribution systems for organic operations extend the functionality of the system and system integration for the extension is doing. However, in systems integration for each unique non-standard definition of linkage and exchange systems are used. Non-standard definition of a unique linkage and exchange systems in the maintenance and expansion will result in many negative results. To solve these problems, the system and the exchange of information about the links between systems should define standards. IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) power to solve these problems in the field of the Common Information Model (Common Information Model, CIM) standard (IEC61970, IEC61968) is defined as the transmission and distribution system integration and standardization for the exchange of information. In this paper, standardized system for building CIM-based distribution automation system should describe the process of building. In addition, the process of establishing a common information model needed (CIM) defined and associated services for a defined set of models is proposed in the standardization process.
The cone intercept method (CIM) is generally used for attitude determination of a spin-stabilized satellite. The method is popularly used on a transfer orbit, but it is well known that it can also be used for the geosychronous orbit. In this paper, the CIM is applied to the geosynchronous orbit and its performance and limitations will be investigated from the results. The CIM impliments two sensors (Sun and Earth sensors). The Sun sensor finds the angle between the spin-axis and the direction vector to the Sun and the Earth sensor does the angle between the spin-axis and the direction vector to the Earth. By using these two cone angles, the CIM gives the direction of the spin-axis of the satellite.
Current CIM systems need to correspond flexibly to the frequent change of demands of the customers and the fast changing informations about the production environment. The demands have brought forth CIM systems developed using object-oriented technology, with reusability, expansibility, and flexibility for the system components. Due to the fact that the OO-CIM system has been developed based on an incomplete data, the constructed system must be implemented to the actual surroundings to see how pertinent it is. Hence, this paper presents an OO-simulator as a means to evaluate the pertinency and the efficiency of the developed CIM system. The OO-simulator can determine the problems likely to occur when a developed CIM system is implemented to the actual site and evaluate the efficiency beforehand. Such properties will decrease the cost of CIM system development and increase the reliability of the system. This paper presents a framework for an OO-simulator composed of a virtual factory component embodying the characteristics of a virtual factory, a connector component for the interface between the CIM system and the simulator, a configuration component for modeling the constituent structure of the CIM system, and a timer component in charge of the time advance for the simulation.

The present experiment was performed to evaluate the chondrogenic differentiation potential of human adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ATMSCs) in the chondrogenic induction medium (CIM) with transforming growth factor-${\beta}1$ (TGF-${\beta}1$) and to evaluate the chondrogenic differentiation of ATMSCs seeded in gelatin-chondroitinglucosamine scaffold (GCG-scaffold). ATMSCs and mouse chondrocytes were cultured in the basic medium and CIM without TGF-${\beta}1$ (CIM1) or with TGF-${\beta}1$ (CIM2) for chondrogenic differentiation potential. The chondrogenic differentiation of ATMSCs was evaluated by glycosaminoglycan (GAG) synthesis and histochemical staining. In pellet culture, GAG synthesis of ATMSCs and chondrocyte was increased in culture on 14 days, but higher in CIM1 than basic medium, especially highest in CIM2. Cartilage matrix was observed in ATMSCs cultured in CIM2 on 14 days by Safranin O and trichrome staining. In well plate culture, proliferation of ATMSCs was continuously increased in culture on 10 days and higher in CIM than basic medium. The cell adhesion rate of ATMSCs seeded in flask or scaffolds was continuously increased during culture period, but higher in scaffold than flask. GAG synthesis of ATMSCs seeded in scaffolds showed no change in control group. In the CIM groups, GAG synthesis of ATMSCs was continuously increased than control group during culture period, especially very high in CIM2 and in the GCG-scaffold was slightly higher than the gelatin scaffold (G-scaffold). The present results demonstrated that ATMSCs showed an low chondrogenic differentiation potential, compared to mouse chondrocytes for 14 days of culture. TGF-${\beta}1$ is important factor in chondrogenic differentiation of ATMSCs. Gelatin scaffold was considered to increasing the effective chondrogenic differentiation environment. ATMSCs seeded in GCG-scaffold was more effective in chondrogenesis than in G-scaffold. Conclusively, the present results demonstrated that the treatment of chondroitin and glucosamine in the scaffold was more effective to promote the cartilage matrix formation.
