  • Nowaday, The Sustainable Development about global environment is the most important subject. In urban environment, a variety of the nature energy utilization such as the solar energy are the most efficient solution to solve this issue. One of these efficient, solutions, a photovoltaic system using sunlight has been introduced to the building with an advantage such as cost-effective, safe for using and good for environment friendly in light with energy utilization. Recently, many of the apartment housings are built in domestic country. The apartment buildings have been constructed since early of 1970's. now apartment is taking over 50% out of entire housing in korea. The apartment housing applying to a photovoltaic system has been extensively studied in the foreign country but our county runs short. So, It was necessary to technical development of PV application which is suitable in Korean house culture. The objective of this study is to develop the building integrated PV application method for apartment building.

  • A proper selection of formwork greatly affects project success in tall building construction. The tall building construction, however, has not been selected properly using the characteristics by formwork and demands the comprehensive consideration of cost, duration, quality, safety, and environment. Therefore, this study compares and analyzes the application by formwork of five aspects. In order to perform an analysis, the questionnaire was performed to research the priority order of management as determining formwork and application by formwork of tall building construction engineers. This study is expected to help reasonable selection of formwork.

  • Recently, As the high rise buildings have been demanded due to the rising current of land price, the permanent drainage method have been applied during and after the construction as a way to reduce the buoyancy acting on the bottoms of the foundations in the basement. This method has brought about the consolidation subsidence of the ground and turned out to be the problems of sinking hole and foundation re-settlement. The representative methods to be used for extending the life cycle of the existing building structure which is tilted by the foundation re-settlement or differential settlement of the foundation can be divided into the building structures reinforcement and soil reinforcement. The purpose of this study is to analyze and present the application example of steel pipe pile method to extend the life cycle of the six -stories building tilted in a soft ground.

  • This study focuses on applying performance-based design to construction standard in building construction. First, it realizes situation and issues of standard specification in building construction, deduces the need factors for establishing performance-based construction standard, and then, it proposes the application of performance standard. The required stages for deducing performance-based construction standard consist of dividing building parts, deducing required functions, performance items and performance requirement and deciding a method of performance evaluation. Through these stages, performance-based design process is deduced.

  • Recently as construction projects have been complicated, it has been wearing thin to draw on their personal experiences for management. Although the advance of IT, using the technology for construction is insufficient in contrast to other industries. BIM has been steadily used in construction projects, but it is not easy to find the case of successful use. This research considers ways in which BIM technology can be applied to useful management on a construction site and derives a method of application of using BIM for a Mega-complex Building Project especially.

  • Regarding to the Domestic housing politics to improve residing environment and effective use of country land, apartment buildings have been constructed since early of 1970s. Now apartment is taking over 50% out of entire housing in Korea. In the view point of PV application to the apartment, PV has amny advantages because of the wideness of out-walls and high floors building in APT. Therefore, if APT could use the electricity produced by BIPV, we can solve more easily environment and energy problems caused by housing. The research conclusion by analysing conditions and application method to introduce BIPV application to APT in near future is as below. -The out look of APT has been developed periodically and recently gable roof or canopy is popular which PV installation is more favorable. -For Balcony part with double skin facade sassy window, It has a preferable condition to install on the wall depending on the window direction. -In case of shorter distance between buildings due to high ratio of outside measurement, it is more desirable to install PV on the roof than on the wall of Apartment by considering low solar altitude. -Also depending on the direction of APT building, it is more effective and productive in electricity in the broad surface of side wall of APT. -In case of superhigh floor APT where facade system is mostly double skin facade of curtain wall system, PV module can replace the traditional curtain wall and will reduce architectural materials and obtain various out look design thereof.

  • Building energy consumption generally depends on living patterns of residents and outdoor air temperature changes. Although outdoor air temperature changes effect on building energy consumption, there is no calibration method for the comparison before and after Green Remodeling or BEMS installation etc., Big data of building energy consumption are collected and managed by 『National Integrated Management System of Building Energy』 in Korea, and they are utilized for the development of a calibration method for individual buildings as shown as the calibration method for small-area building stocks in the previous research. This study aims to develope a calibration method using big data of building energy consumption of individual buildings and outdoor air temperature changes, and to propose application of appropriate calibration methods for individual buildings or small-area building stocks according to the calibration purpose and conditions.

  • Today, the need for alternative energy has increased due to the global environmental problems and energy depletion. In order to solve a global environmental matter and an energy issue simultaneously, the application of the renewable energies in building has been constantly demanded. therefore, we must develop new energy resources that are abundant and provide substitutes for fossil fuels and we must study the application method of the renewable energies in building. Among renewable energies, the solar energy(photovoltaic system) is clean, inexhaustible, and available everywhere in the world and is judged to have the application possibility in building. Daegu city has a plan of putting a photovoltaic system on large buildings. For instance, EXCO, exhibition and convention building, and dormitory in Kyungpook National University, Dongho elementary school, Osan building in Keimyung University, Young korea academy in Daegu, are on the process of having a photovoltaic system. Therefore a study on the performance of photovoltaic system is important for the system design and maintenance. this paper describes the first invest cost, and performance test of the 95kW utility-interactive photovoltaic power system.

A Continuous Wavelet Study on Approach Wind and Building Pressure (접근풍속과 건물 변동풍압력에 대한 연속파동변화법의 적용)

  • Application of proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) and continuous wavelet transform (CWT) is introduced to study wind speed and building roof pressures of flow separation region. In this study, a detailed analysis of the approach wind flow, wind-induced building pressure and the relation between the two fields was carried out using the POD technique and CWT analysis. The results show potential of the application of POD and CWT in characterization of spatio-temporal and spectral properties of the approach wind and its induced dynamic pressure events. Some of findings resulting from the application of this analysis can be summarized as follows: (1) The POD first principal coordinate of the roof pressure in the separated shear layer is closely correlated with the longitudinal component of oncoming flow. (2) The CWT analysis suggests that the extreme peak pressure in the separated shear layer is due to condensed large-scale eddy motions.
