After the final closure of sea dyke, seepage behaviour of embankment is highly changed by variation of water head different between tide wave and controlled water level at fresh lake. Especially, the seepage behaviour of bottom protection layer of final closure section is more important factor for structural and functional stability of sea dyke, because of the bottom protection layer of final closure section is penetrated sea side to fresh lake. Even though bottom protection layer was filled with dredged fine sand, it has a high permeability. In this paper, mainly described about the seepage velocity and borehole image of bottom protection layer filled with dredged sand after final closure. Various in-situ tests such as BIPS (Borehole Image Processing System) and ABI (Acoustic Borehole Imager) survey, wave velocity measuring, and color tracer survey were conducted to evaluate the seepage behavior of bottom protection layer. Based on the in-situ tests, the bottom protection layer of final closure section was almost filled with dredged sand which is slightly coarse grain sand and there have sea water flow by water head different between tide wave and controlled water level at fresh lake. Also, comply with tracer survey results, the sea water flow path was not exist or generated in the bottom protection layer. However, because of this result not only short term survey but also just one test borehole survey results, additional long term and other borehole tests are needed.

By understanding the construction process of sea dikes and the current state of the thickness and speed of fluid in the bottom layer protection work of final closure gaps, a construction method applicable for the blocking of bottom layer work will be selected. The three construction methods selected will be tested in site through various methods, and the reinforcement of bottom layer protection and impervious effect will be verified. The verification results are as follows: 1) The overall riprap layer were 0.5~1.0m thicker than planned so that the grouting depth and grout input amount increased 2) The applied construction methods permeability of riprap layers were improved from $\alpha{\times}10^{-2}cm/s$ before the construction to $\alpha{\times}10^{-4}cm/s$ after construction. 3) The results of core extraction in order to grossly verify the hardening time and durability allowed the identification of grout injection effect. The amount of filling of the injection was difficult to judge because the slime in many areas made the reading of borehole photography difficult.

In this research, mainly research about the structural and functional stability of sea dyke with variation of seepage condition after final closure. The piezometric head (water head in embankment) monitoring system was installed at two representative final closure section. The dredged fine sand filling condition was evaluated by in-situ test results. Also, the numerical analysis was performed to determine the permeability of bottom protection layer filled with dredged fine sand by monitoring results. According to numerical back analysis results, the coefficient of permeability of bottom protection section of is $7.6{\times}10^{-6}$ m/sec. These results are noted that the bottom protection layer of sea dyke was strong and intensively filled with dredged sand. Also, based on the seepage analysis, the seepage flux of this sea dyke was calculated about $2.42m^3$/day/m which is 29% decreased value compare with adjacent sea dyke.
This study was conducted to propose a reasonable requirement regulation of barrier system of rubble mound revetment offshore landfill for preventing contaminant leakage. The barrier is composed with bottom layer and side barrier. The bottom layer was assumed as impermeable clay layer and side barrier was composed with HDPE sheet (primary element) and mid-protection layer (supplementary element). Seepage-advection-dispersion numerical analysis has been conducted using SEEP/W and CTRAN/W programs under steady flow. As the results, the minimum required barrier regulations for hydraulic conductivity and thickness of the bottom layer were suggested. For side barrier, the extended length of HDPE sheet and the hydraulic conductivity of mid-protection layer were also suggested.
This study analyzes contaminant movement under transient flow in a rubble mound revetment offshore waste landfill barrier system that prevents contaminant runoff. The barrier system consists of bottom layer and side barrier. For the bottom layer system, impermeable clay layer is used. For the side barrier system, the HDPE barrier sheet (primary element) plays the main role, and the intermediate protection layer (supplementary element) is responsible for the barrier. Seepage, advection, dispersion numerical analysis was carried out using SEEP / W and CTRAN / W programs. As a result, under abnormal conditions considering the fluctuation in tidal range, the volume and direction of the flow velocity vector of the pore water change with time and the dispersion concentration of the contaminant changes. When comparing the case of 2 m tidal range and 8 m tidal range, the larger the tide value, the higher the concentration of contaminant under abnormal conditions. It was found that the rate of change of the concentration of the contaminant changed depending on the change in the tidal range, and as a result, the outflow of the pollutant was smaller than that in the steady flow state.
In this study, we fabricated thermopile infrared sensor with floating membrane structure. Floating membrane was formed by SOI(Silicon On Insulator) structure. In SOI structure, silicon dioxide layer between top silicon layer and bottom silicon substrate was etched by HF solution, then membrane was floated over substrate. After membrane was floated, thermopile pattern was formed on membrane. By insertion of SOI technology, we could obtain thermal isolation structure easily and passivation process for sensor pattern protection was not required during fabrication process. Then, the amplifier circuit for thermopile sensor was fabricated by using $1.5{\mu}m$ CMOS process. The voltage gain of fabricated amplifier was about two hundred.
Previous studies have shown that pile-soil interactions have significant influences on the isolation efficiency of an isolated structure. However, most of the existing tests were carried out using a 1-g shaking table, which cannot reproduce the soil stresses resulting in distortion of the simulated pile-soil interactions. In this study, a centrifuge shaking table modelling of the seismic responses of a friction pendulum bearing isolated structure with a pile foundation under earthquakes were conducted. The pile foundation structure was designed and constructed with a scale factor of 1:100. Two layers of the foundation soil, i.e., the bottom layer was made of plaster and the upper layer was normal soil, were carefully prepared to meet the similitude requirement. Seismic responses, including strains, displacement, acceleration, and soil pressure were collected. The settlement of the soil, sliding of the isolator, dynamic amplification factor and bending moment of the piles were analysed to reveal the influence of the soil structure interaction on the seismic performance of the structure. It is found that the soil rotates significantly under earthquake motions and the peak rotation is about 0.021 degree under 24.0 g motions. The isolator cannot return to the initial position after the tests because of the unrecoverable deformation of the soil and the friction between the curved surface of the slider and the concave plate.
In order to identify the habitat characteristics of water shield (Brasenia schreberi), water quality and sediment characters were investigated. Water shield had peculial habitats such as old reservoir, developed basin-like reservior, a water depth within 1.5 m, constant water level, and thick sediment layer at the bottom. The species had very dense populations under the favorable growing conditions and occasionally grew together with Utricularia japonica. When water shield decreased, Nelumbo nucifera, Nuphar japonicum and Zizania latifolia increased. Natural populations of water shield need protection because it is endangered by the human activities and their harvest. The optimal conditions for the growth of water shield was near neutral pH. low conductivity and low turbidity. Therefore the input of pollutants should be controlled for its growth. The inorganic ion contents such as K, Mg, and Na were higher in the water shield growing area. Especially iron content of the sediments in the reservoirs with water shield was nearly five times as high as that in the reservoirs without water shield. thus iron might be one of the major limiting factors for the growth. It was considered that molybdenum can be another major factor because water shield is a nitrogen fixing plant.

Water waves are generated mainly by winds in open seas and large lakes. They carry a significant amount of energy from winds into near-shore region. Thereby they significantly contribute to the regional hydrodynamics and transport process, producing strong physical, geological and environmental impact on coastal environment and on human activities in the coastal area. Furthermore an accurate prediction of the hydrodynamic effects due to wave interaction with offshore structures is a necessary requirement in the design, protection and operation of such structures. In the present paper surface and internal waves scattering by thin surface-piercing and bottom-standing vertical barriers in a two-layer fluid is analyzed in two-dimensions within the context of linearized theory of water waves. The reflection coefficients for surface and internal waves are computed and analyzed in various cases. It is found that wave reflection is strongly dependent on the interface location and the fluid density ratio apart from the barrier geometry.
In this work, the effects of fire curtain and forced smoke ventilation on smoke spread to auditorium in the stage fire of theater were investigated using the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS). For the stage of 31 m (Width)${\times}$34 m (Depth)${\times}$32 m (Height) in dimension, the fast growth fire condition with 10 MW of heat release rate was applied. The forced smoke ventilation was set based on the National Fire Safety Code (NFSC) and previous research. The gap distances between the fire curtain and proscenium wall was established to be 0 m and 0.5 m. When the fire curtain was attached completely to the proscenium wall without any gap, no smoke spread from the stage to the auditorium occurred, independent of forced smoke ventilation. When the gap distance between the fire curtain and proscenium wall was 0.5 m, the smoke layer in the stage descended to the lower height from the bottom than the case without the fire curtain, which was because the smoke spread to auditorium was impeded by the fire curtain. Under the same fire curtain condition, the case with the forced smoke ventilation led to decreasing the mass flow rate of outflow through the gap between the fire curtain and proscenium wall, as compared to the case without the forced smoke ventilation. Based on this study, it was confirmed that the fire curtain and forced smoke ventilation were the effective tools to hold down the smoke spread to the auditorium in the stage fire of theater.
