  • Recently, the high frequency isolated boost DC/DC converter has been widely used for the PCS (Power Conditioning System) system because of its small size and low cost. However, the high frequency isolated boost DC/DC converters applied the conventional voltage-fed converter and current-fed converter have the problems such as the high conduction losses and the surge voltage due to the high circulating current and the leakage inductance, respectively. To overcome this problems, in this paper the secondary LLC resonant converter is proposed, and the experimental results of the secondary LLC series resonant converter for boost DC/DC converter are verified on the simulation based on the theoretical analysis and the 1kW experimental prototype.

  • This paper presents a control method of Single-Inductor Dual-Output DC-DC Converter using Common mode feedback and differential feedback loops. To generate duty used for differential mode feedback loop, this paper propose relative sawtooth circuit using current divider circuit which makes ramp signal with variable dead-time. Two outputs of the Single-Inductor Dual-Output DC-DC Converter are specified for 2.8 V and 4.2 V with input voltage 2.5 V. The maximum conversion efficiency of designed SIDO DC-DC Converter is 95% at total output power of 539mW. Cross regulations of Boost1 and Boost2 are 3.57% and 4% each, when increasing twice times output current.

  • This paper presents a multi output converter system that controls, simultaneously, the separate buck converter and boost converter with the different specification by one digital controller using fuzzy algorithm. As two separate converters are regulated by only one DSP, it is possible to achieve the simple digital control circuit for regulating multi output DC-DC converter. Inference procedure of fuzzy controller is included. The control characteristics of each PWM DC-DC converter is validated by experimental results.

  • An inverter system which consists of three bi-directional buck-boost converters, is proposed for motor driving. Three phase sinusoidal output voltages can be generated by utilizing three buck-boost converters. The advantage of this scheme is that it does not require a separate DC-DC converter for motor driving, i.e. inverter function is combined into the three DC-DC converters. This topology is suitable for inverters for hybrid or fuel cell vehicles where DC link voltage is subject to change depending upon charging status or output power. So the proposed system is capable of driving motor at high speed. The converter system is controlled by PI controller and simulation results done by MATLAB SIMULINK are provided.Ҙ?⨀ሉȀ̀㘰々K䍄乍?ጊ츀Ѐ㔹〻Ԁ䭃䑎䴀

  • This paper presents the dynamic characteristics of buck and buck-boost dc-dc converters with digital filters. At first, the PID, the minimum phase FIR filter and the IIR filter controls are discussed in the buck dc-dc converter. Comparisons of the dynamic characteristics between the buck and buck-boost converters are then discussed. As a result, it is clarified that the superior dynamic characteristics are realized in the IIR filter method. In the buck converter, the undershoot is less than 2% and the transient time is less than 0.4ms. On the other hand, in the buck-boost converter, the undershoot is about 3%. However, the transient time is approximately over 4ms because the output capacitance is too large to suppress the output voltage ripple in this type of converter.

  • Resonant parametric perturbation (RPP) method is an effective non-feedback method for controlling chaos. In this paper, the above method is applied for the current programmed buck-boost dc-dc converter which exhibits chaotic for wide parameter variations. The different possible operating regimes leading to chaotic operation of the current mode controlled buck-boost converter is discussed and the control of chaos by RPP method is demonstrated through computer simulations and experimental studies. The converter is stabilized to period 1 operation practically.

  • To match the dynamic lower voltage of a fuel cell stack and the required constant higher voltage (400V) of a DC bus, an H-type structural Boost three-level DC-DC converter with a wide voltage-gain range (HS-BTL) is presented in this paper. When compared with the traditional flying-capacitor Boost three-level DC-DC converter, the proposed converter can obtain a higher voltage-gain and does not require a complicate control for the flying-capacitor voltage balance. Moreover, the proposed converter, which can draw a continuous and low-rippled current from an input source, has the advantages of a wide voltage-gain range and low voltage stress for power semiconductors. The operating principle, parameters design and a comparison with other converters are presented and analyzed. Experimental results are also given to verify the aforementioned characteristics and theoretical analysis. The proposed converter is suitable for application of fuel cell systems.
