Unlike the semi-public system of city buses, Seoul's townbus are operated on a private operating system, which is poor condition to the changes in the environment. Sales decreased due to a decrease in the number of passengers due to COVID-19 and a demand for conversion due to the advent of competitive transportation methods, and the financial support of Seoul Metropolitan Government is continuously increasing. In this study, to analyze the characteristics of townbus operated by a private operating system, the townbus sales and surplus companies were analyzed by what factors were affected. For the analysis data, townbus financial statements of Seoul in 2018 were used, and townbus sales and surplus companies were applied as dependent variables, and townbus operation system, satisfaction survey, humanities and social variables, and subway and public bicycle characteristics were applied as independent variables. As a result of the analysis, the sales is affected by operating hours per vehicle, in-vehicle safety, the number of households, the number of elderly people, and public bicycle variables, and surplus companies are affected by in-vehicle safety, reliability, and public bicycle variables. In particular, public bicycles, a competitive means of transportation, had an impact on industry sales, and the townbus business environment is expected to become more difficult as time goes by. The industry is seeking self-rescue measures, and Seoul is required to strengthen financial support so that townbus can operate stably.

Purpose: This retrospective chart review study was conducted to examine the frequency of delirium and to identify the risk factors of delirium in elderly surgical patients. Methods: The subjects of this study were 394 patients aged 65 years or older who underwent surgery. The diagnosis of delirium was based on the nursing assessment records with scores from the day of surgery to the 4th day after surgery. The collected data were analyzed by binary logistic regression analysis. Results: The incidence of delirium was 4.3%, and delirium occurred most frequently on the first day of surgery and lasted for 2.16 days on average. Of delirium patients, 76.5% underwent gastrointestinal surgery, and the most common delirium pattern was disorientation. In terms of the characteristics of the subjects, the occurrence of delirium was statistically different by age (𝝌2=10.79, p=.005), systemic-specific disease (𝝌2=9.63, p=.047), use of delirium-inducing drug(benzodiazepine) before surgery (𝝌2=15.90, p<.001), walking ability before surgery (𝝌2=7.65, p=.006), history of delirium (𝝌2=35.92, p<.001), and emergency surgery (𝝌2=16.40, p<.001). As risk factors of delirium, gastrointestinal surgery was found to increase the risk of delirium by 12.57 times (95% CI=2.45~64.46, p=.002), and the use of benzodiazepines before surgery was shown to increase delirium by 10.07 times (95% CI=2.21~45.87, p=.003). Conclusion: It is necessary for nurses to actively evaluate delirium using screening tools for early detection and prevention of delirium in elderly surgical patients with delirium risk factors.

The purpose of this study is to analyze high school students' understanding and use of the recommended books lists. The survey distributed to high school students in seven high schools located in Seoul, and 311 students responded. Using SPSS 24, the data was analyzed by frequency, binary logistic model, and one-way ANOVA. Results show the followings. First, the meaningful factors affecting students' use of recommended books lists are gender, grade levels, and the degree to which students think recommended books lists include the books that are suitable and interesting. Particularly, the degree to which students think recommended books lists include the suitable books for them is the strong factor affecting students' use of the recommended books lists. Second, male students are less likely to use recommended books lists than female students. Male students consistently are less likely to use the recommended books lists made by school librarians, subject teachers, and reading experts and/or organizations. Third, teacher-librarians believed that the recommended books lists would help students who do not enjoy reading and have difficulties in reading. However, the study finds that students who enjoy reading and read well are more willing to use the recommended books lists made by school librarians, subjects teachers, and reading experts and/or organizations than those who do not. Fourth, students are most willing to use the recommended books lists for college preparation. The findings suggest the further research topics in designing the recommended books lists suitable for high school students and in scaffolding the high school students' use of book information reflected in recommended books lists.
In maritime accidents, collisions involving fishing vessels are more frequent and severe than those involving other types of vessels. Previous cases of collision accidents caused by fishing vessels causing serious damage implied that fishing vessels maintained high speeds until just before the collision and that they collided with much larger vessels. This study investigated the correlation between the severity of ship damage resulting from fishing vessel collisions and the vessel's speed. The effective impact speed commonly used in the road transport sector was utilized to analyze ship collision accidents. The study collected collision data between fishing vessels and between fishing vessels and non-fishing vessels from accident investigation reports from 2016 to 2022. The effective impact speed was calculated for a total of 617 vessels. After using binary and multinomial logistic regression methodology, the analysis was carried out with effective impact speed as the independent variable and severity of accident as the dependent variable. The analysis revealed a statistically significant correlation between the effective impact speed and the severity of ship damage, indicating that the severity of ship damage is influenced not only by the effective impact speed but also by the tonnage of the vessel.

This study empirically identified and sought implications for the degree of desire by film crews to participate in overseas production and the factors affecting them, based on the recognition that the active participation of skilled film crews in overseas production and joint ventures can be an alternative to the poor treatment of domestic film industry sites and the reduction of job losses due to problems with career barriers. In order for respondents to verify research questions, binomial logistic and marginal effects analysis using SPSS and STATA, the data obtained by surveying 402 film crews operating in various areas. The notable findings are as follow: First, about 65%(263 people) of the respondents expressed their desire to participate in overseas activity, indicating that a considerable number of film crews are looking forward to opportunities with overseas productions. Second, major factors that have a positive effect on film crews' need to participate in overseas activities have been found to be professionality, artistic identity, Korean Wave persistence, and career barriers. In other words, the higher the professionality, the more clearly the identity of the artist, the more positive expectations of the possibility of the Korean Wave continuing, and the more serious the problem of career disability, the clearer was the desire to participate in overseas production and joint-work activities.
The purpose of this research was to investigate the impact of the partner types (supplier, customer, competitor, research institution, more than one partner type) for SMEs on radical and incremental innovation. Another purpose was to examine how the relation varies according to the technological intensity of an industry to which the focal firm belongs. To test the hypotheses, we used the 'KIS(Korean Innovation Survey) 2014' data and the empirical analysis was done with the effective survey from 3,846 Korean SMEs. We employed STATA 14 for validity, confirmatory factor analysis, and binary logistic regression analysis. The results revealed that, when viewed the entire manufacturing SMEs, cooperation with suppliers, customers and research institutes has all been shown to have a positive effect on the radical and gradual innovations of SMEs. However, The relationship between partner type and radical innovation has been significantly different depending on the technical intensity of the industry. When cooperating with suppliers, the impact on radical innovation of SMEs was significant only in low-tech and medium-low tech industries. In contrast, when working with customers, the impact on the radical innovation of SMEs was significant only in the high-tech, medium-high tech, and medium-low tech industries, except for low tech industries. Meanwhile, although cooperation with competitors has a positive effect on radical innovation, this has been only significant in the medium-high tech industries.

Objective : During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, hospital avoidance had a significant impact on public health. We investigated the factors associated with hospital avoidance and explored practical strategies hospitals could employ to address this phenomenon. Methods : We conducted a patient experience survey in a general hospital in Korea during the COVID-19 pandemic. Between July 6, 2020, and July 20, 2020, a total of 842 patients who had previously visited hospitals before the COVID-19 outbreak participated. Self-reported hospital avoidance, factors associated with hospital avoidance, and satisfaction with the hospital's infection control policies were the main outcomes. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to identify associated factors. Results : Data indicated that 29.9% (n=252) of the respondents avoided visiting the hospital after the COVID-19 outbreak. Satisfaction with the hospital infection control policy (odds ratio [OR]=2.297, p<0.001), female sex (OR=1.619, p<0.05), and higher educational level (OR=1.884, p<0.001) were associated with hospital avoidance. The "entrance body temperature check" was the most satisfactory policy among the hospital's infection control policies. Conclusion : To manage hospital avoidance during an infectious disease crisis, targeted policies for at-risk groups and hospital policies to reassure and satisfy patients are needed.
This study addressed housing issues among various social problems of youth. With a focus on residential independence, this study analyzed the factors that lead youth to achieve residential independence. This study drew on nationwide data from the 'Youth Life Survey (2022)' with a sample size of 12,578. Binary logistic regression analysis was employed, with the dependent variable being residential independence. Key factors were as follows. The probability of residential independence was higher for men than women. Residential independence occurred mainly in non-metropolitan areas compared to metropolitan areas. Findings revealed that greater age, income, and assets facilitate achieving residential independence. In addition, public transport and cultural facilities were important for their residential independence, and it was found that the previous experience of residential independence had a positive effect. Policy implications derived from the findings are as follows. It is required to consider the heterogeneity and diversity of youth rather than implementing unitary policies. To ensure continuity and sustainability of self-reliance, long-term support programs are needed rather than temporary support. Moreover, it is required to offer public support comprehensively, instead of youth relying on support from personal networks, including their parents. An inclusive housing policy should be established to support youth for their residential independence in the future.

Objective: 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET/CT is often used for detecting malignancy in patients with newly diagnosed hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), with acceptable sensitivity but relatively low specificity. The aim of this study was to improve the diagnostic ability of 18F-FDG PET/CT in identifying malignancy in patients with HLH by combining 18F-FDG PET/CT and clinical parameters. Materials and Methods: Ninety-seven patients (age ≥ 14 years) with secondary HLH were retrospectively reviewed and divided into the derivation (n = 71) and validation (n = 26) cohorts according to admission time. In the derivation cohort, 22 patients had malignancy-associated HLH (M-HLH) and 49 patients had non-malignancy-associated HLH (NM-HLH). Data on pretreatment 18F-FDG PET/CT and laboratory results were collected. The variables were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test or Pearson's chi-square test, and a nomogram for predicting M-HLH was constructed using multivariable binary logistic regression. The predictors were also ranked using decision-tree analysis. The nomogram and decision tree were validated in the validation cohort (10 patients with M-HLH and 16 patients with NM-HLH). Results: The ratio of the maximal standardized uptake value (SUVmax) of the lymph nodes to that of the mediastinum, the ratio of the SUVmax of bone lesions or bone marrow to that of the mediastinum, and age were selected for constructing the model. The nomogram showed good performance in predicting M-HLH in the validation cohort, with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.875 (95% confidence interval, 0.686-0.971). At an appropriate cutoff value, the sensitivity and specificity for identifying M-HLH were 90% (9/10) and 68.8% (11/16), respectively. The decision tree integrating the same variables showed 70% (7/10) sensitivity and 93.8% (15/16) specificity for identifying M-HLH. In comparison, visual analysis of 18F-FDG PET/CT images demonstrated 100% (10/10) sensitivity and 12.5% (2/16) specificity. Conclusion: 18F-FDG PET/CT may be a practical technique for identifying M-HLH. The model constructed using 18F-FDG PET/CT features and age was able to detect malignancy with better accuracy than visual analysis of 18F-FDG PET/CT images.

This study explored computer vision methods using the OpenCV open-source library to characterize the phenotypes of various horticultural crops. In the case of tomatoes, image color was examined to assess ripeness, while support vector machine (SVM) and histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) methods effectively identified ripe tomatoes. For sweet pepper, we visualized the color distribution and used the Gaussian mixture model for clustering to analyze its post-harvest color characteristics. For the quality assessment of netted melons, the LAB (lightness, a, b) color space, binary images, and depth mapping were used to measure the net patterns of the melon. In addition, a combination of depth and color data proved successful in identifying flowers of different sizes and distances in cucumber greenhouses. This study highlights the effectiveness of these computer vision strategies in monitoring the growth and development, ripening, and quality assessment of fruits and vegetables. For broader applications in agriculture, future researchers and developers should enhance these techniques with plant physiological indicators to promote their adoption in both research and practical agricultural settings.
