Multi-field Coupling Simulation and Experimental Study on Transformer Vibration Caused by DC Bias

  • DC bias will cause abnormal vibration of transformers. Aiming at such a problem, transformer vibration affected by DC bias has been studied combined with transformer core and winding vibration mechanism use multi-physical field simulation software COMSOL in this paper. Furthermore the coupling model of electromagnetic-structural force field has been established, and the variation pattern of inner flux density, distribution of mechanical stress, tension and displacement were analyzed based on the coupling model. Finally, an experiment platform has been built up which was employed to verify the correctness of model.

Ricean Bias Correction in Linear Polarization Observation

  • I developed an enhanced correction method for Ricean bias which occurs in linear polarization measurement. Two known methods for Ricean bias correction are reviewed. In low signal-to-noise area, the method based on the mode of the equation gives better representation of the fractional polarization. But a caution should be given that the accurate estimation of noise level, i.e. ${\sigma}$ of the polarized flux, is important. The maximum likelihood method is better choice for high signal-to-noise area. I suggest a hybrid method which uses the mode of the equation at the low signal-to-noise area and takes the maximum likelihood method at the high signal-to-noise area. A modified correction coefficient for the mode solution is proposed. The impact on the depolarization measure analysis is discussed.

  • We has designed, fabricated, and measured a Single flux quantum (SFQ) toggle flip-flop (TFF). The TFF is widely used in superconductive digital electronics circuits. Many digital devices, such as frequency counter, counting ADC and program counter be used TFF Specially, a program counter may be constructed based on TFF We have designed the newly TFF and obtained high bias margins on test. In this work, we used two circuit simulation tools, WRspice and Julia, as circuit optimization tools. We used XIC for a layout tool. Newly designed TFF had minimum bias margins of +/- $37\%$ and maximum bias margins of +/-$37\%$(enhanced from +/- $37\%$). The designed circuits were fabricated by using Nb technology The test results showed that the re-optimized TFF operated correctly on 100kHz and had a very wide bias margins of +/- $53\%$.

  • Measuring magnetic fields with a SQUID sensor always requires preliminary adjustments such as optimum bas current determination and flux-locking point search. A conventional magnetoencephalography (MEG) system consists of several dozens of sensors and we should condition each sensor one by one for an experiment. This timeconsuming job is not only cumbersome but also impractical for the common use in hospital. We had developed a serial port communication protocol between SQUID sensor controllers and a personal computer in order to control the sensors. However, theserial-bus-based control is too slow for adjusting all the sensors with a sufficient accuracy in a reasonable time. In this work, we introduce programmatic control sequence that saves the number of the control pulse arrays. The sequence separates into two stages. The first stage is a function for searching flux-locking points of the sensors and the other stage is for determining the optimum bias current that operates a sensor in a minimum noise level Generally, the optimum bias current for a SQUID sensor depends on the manufactured structure, so that it will not easily change about. Therefore, we can reduce the time for the optimum bias current determination by using the saved values that have been measured once by the second stage sequence. Applying the first stage sequence to a practical use, it has taken about 2-3 minutes to perform the flux-locking for our 37-channel SQUID magnetometer system.

  • Due to the lack of stiffness and difficulties of control, it is hard to achieve well balanced magnetic levitation. In this paper, we analysis the current and position stiffness change according to bias current through experiment. Then, compensation equations were presented. After obtaining PD gain for each bias current and PD gain region through levitation experiment, we consider the characteristics.

  • DLC (Diamond like Carbon)는 Diamond와 유사한 물리화학적 특성을 보유한 막으로 고경도 및 우수한 내마모성, 화학적 안정성의 특성을 가지고 있다. DLC는 크게 카본의 막 형성 공정에서 카본 소스에 따라 수소가 포함된 DLC와 무수소 DLC 로 구분된다. Tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C) 박막은 DLC 박막 중에서 가장 다이아몬드와 유사한 특성을 가지는 박막으로, a:C-H에 비해 고온안정성, 높은 경도 (30~80 GPa) 및 내마모 특성이 우수하여, 현재 다양한 응용분야에 적용되고 있으며, 최근에는 고내구성을 보유하면서 전기적 특성을 가지는 기능성 DLC막의 요구가 증대하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 무수소 DLC 형성을 위해 자장필터가 장착된 Filtered Vacuum Arc Source (FVAS)를 자체적으로 개발하여 연구를 수행하였다. FVAS 장비는 카본 이온 발생부와 Plasma Duct 부위, 전자석부위 구성되어 있으며, 본 연구에서는 Plasma Duct 부위의 Bias 제어를 통한 음극에서 기판으로 이동하는 카본이온의 에너지 및 flux 변화를 통해 ta-C 막의 전기적, 기계적 물성 연구를 진행하였다. Plasma Duct Bias 변화는 각 0 ~ 20 V 조건으로 진행하였으며, 물성 평가는 경도 (Hardness), 마찰계수, 전기적 특성에 대한 분석을 진행하였다. 박막의 증착 거동에서는 Plasma Duct bias 변화에 따라 10 V에서 가장 높은 증착 거동을 가지다 감소하는 경향을 확인 하였으며, 박막의 물성 특성 평가 시에도 이와 유사하게 특성의 차이를 관찰하였다. 이는 음극부위에서 형성된 카본이온이 기판에 도달 시에 Plasma Duct Bias 변화에 따라 이온의 Flux 및 에너지 변화로 인한 박막의 밀도 및 ta-C 막의 물성 변화로 예상되며, 이를 분석하기 위해 라만 분석법을 통해 증명하였다.

초고진공 전자 사이클로트론 화학 기상 증착 장치에 의한 저온 실리콘 에피 성장에 기판 DC 바이어스가 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Substrate DC Bias on the Low -Temperature Si homoepitaxy in a Ultrahigh Vacuum Electron Cyclotron Resonance Chemical Vapor Deposition)

  • The spatial potential distribution of electron cyclotron resonance plasma is measured as a function of tehsubstrate DC bias by Langmuir probe method. It is observed that the substrate DC bias changes the slope of the plasma potential near the subsrate, resulting in changes in flux and energy of the impinging ions across plasma $_strate boundary along themagnetric field. The effect of the substrate DC bias on the low-temperature silicon homoepitaxy (below $560^{\circ}C$) is examine dby in situ reflection high energy electron diffraction (RHEED), cross-section transmission electron microscopy (XTEM),plan-view TEM and high resolution transmision electron microscopy(HRTEM). While the polycrystalline silicon layers are grow withnegative substrate biases, the single crystaline silicon layers are grown with negative substrate biases, the singel crystalline silicon layers are grown with positive substrate biases. As the substrate bias changes form negative to positive values, the growth rate decreases. It is concluded that the control of the ion energy during plasma deposition is very important in silicon epitaxy at low temperatures below $560^{\circ}C$ by UHV-ECRCVD.VD.

바이어스 자계와 고주파 회전자계에 의한 역전자계 배위 형성 (The Formation of Reserved Field Configuration with Bias Field and Radio-Frequency Rotating Field)

  • It is an important problem that the plasma of high B value is to be confined safely in the research of plasma fusion. So, the Reversed Field Pinch (RFP) plasma has been studied. RFP is stable pinch having self-reversal phenomenon that forms reversed field of itself, but its process of formation is unstable. Therefore, in this paper, we configured the stable RFP by supplying the radio-frequency rotating field just before the RFP is configured by self-reversal phenomenon. Moreover, when conductivity wall is used, toroidal configured by self-reversal phenomenon. Moreover, when conductivity wall is used, toroidal flux is subject to heavy fluctuation in case of high bias field compared with low bias field.

  • Confluence buffers and single flux quantum (SFQ) switches are essential components in constructing a high speed superconductive Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU). In this work, we developed a SFQ confluence buffer and an SFQ switch. It is very important to optimize the circuit parameters of a confluence buffer and an SFQ switch to implement them into an ALU. The confluence buffer that we are currently using has a small bias margin of $\pm$11%. By optimizing it with a Josephson circuit simulator, we improved the design of confluence buffer. Our simulation study showed that we improved bias global margin of 10% more than the existent confluence buffer. In simulations, the minimal bias margin was $\pm$33%. We also designed, fabricated, and tested an SFQ switch operating in a DC mode. The mask layout used to fabricate the SFQ switch was obtained after circuit optimization. The test results of our SFQ switch showed that it operated correctly and had a reasonably wide margin of $\pm$15%.
