  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that affect the social distance between the demented elderly and nursing college students. In this study, responses from 158 nursing college students in city D were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed. As a result, the correlation between variables, social distance, and dementia attitude towards the demented elderly (r = .53, p<.001) showed a statistically correlated relationship, while ageism (r = -.41, p<.001) showed a negative correlation. The results of this study are as follows: first, the interactions between the elderly with dementia and the nursing college students were more frequent (${\beta}=.29$ p=.012), and second, attention to early prevention of dementia (${\beta}=.32$ p=.002) was significant. The explanatory power of these influential factors on the social distance toward the demented elderly was 41.0%.

  • In this paper, we present some fixed point results for a general class of nonexpansive mappings in the framework of Banach space and also proposed a new iterative scheme for approximating the fixed point of this class of mappings in the frame work of uniformly convex Banach spaces. Furthermore, we establish some basic properties and convergence results for our new class of mappings in uniformly convex Banach spaces. Finally, we present an application to nonlinear integral equation and also, a numerical example to illustrate our main result and then display the efficiency of the proposed algorithm compared to different iterative algorithms in the literature with different choices of parameters and initial guesses. The results obtained in this paper improve, extend and unify some related results in the literature.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between sports confidence and class satisfaction according to adolescents' participation in marine sports. First, as a result of analyzing the correlation between sports confidence and class satisfaction, confidence on specific sports had a positive (+) effect on class contents, class style, and class effect, and had a negative (-) effect on physical education teachers. Competition orientation had a positive (+) effect on class contents, class style, and class effect. State sports confidence had a positive (+) effect on all the sub-factors of class satisfaction. Second, as a result of analyzing the effect of sports confidence on class satisfaction, class contents and class style had positive (+) effects on competition orientation and state sports confidence, and class environment and physical education teachers had positive (+) effects on state sports confidence and negative (-) effects on competition orientation.

  • This letter presents an enhancement of EigenTrust. Using the beta distribution, local trust values can be more correctly evaluated. Simulation shows that the proposed scheme calculates the local trust more correctly by up to 8%. For personalization, the proposed scheme provides cumulative transitive values from the local trust to the global trust with mathematically guaranteed convergence.

  • Hjort(1990) obtained the nonparametric Bayes estimator $\^{F}_{c,a}$ of $F_0$ with respect to beta processes in the random censorship model. Let $X_1,{\cdots},X_n$ be i.i.d. $F_0$ and let $C_1,{\cdot},\;C_n$ be i.i.d. G. Assume that $F_0$ and G are continuous. This paper shows that {$\^{F}_{c,a}$(u){\|}0 < u < T} converges weakly to a Gaussian process whenever T < $\infty$ and $\~{F}_0({\tau})\;<\;1$.

  • Let $R_n$ be the the first return time to its initial n-word. Then the Ornstein-Weiss first return time theorem implies that log$R_n$ divided by n converges to entropy. We consider the convergence of log$R_n$ for Sturmian sequences which has the lowest complexity. In this case, we normalize the logarithm of the first return time by log n. We show that for any numbers $1{\leq}{\alpha},\;{\beta}{\leq}{\infty}$, there is a Sturmian sequence of which limsup is ${\alpha}$ and liminf is $1/{\beta}$.

  • This study analyzed whether the poverty level among Asian countries has converged, by using data for the 'globalization period'. In particular, we analyzed the impact of trade on convergence by quantitative analysis using two indices; the head count ratio (H) and the human development index (HDI). The σ-convergence measurement and β-convergence measurement method, commonly used in the field of economic growth, are used for the analysis method. Results show that poverty rates have declined on average during the analysis period and there has been an increase in HDI. It seems that there has been improvement regarding poverty. However, this trend is only an indication of the average trend of Asian countries as a whole. As for the convergence between countries, which is the focus of this study, the HDI index shows the converges among countries while the H index does not show significant convergence among countries. It is also difficult to determine that trade has a statistically significant impact on the poverty rate convergence. However, in the case of HDI convergence, trade has contributed to increasing the convergence rates. This results might show that globalization does not guarantee the convergence among countries, and thus, we need to have additional policy in order to reduce the poverty.

  • The sodium-sulfur batteries which operate at $350^{\circ}C$ have been mainly used in the field of energy storage system. This batteries consist of liquid sodium anode, sulfur cathode and ${\beta}^{{\prime}{\prime}}$-alumina solid electrolyte. The conditioning process for stabilization of the batteries is essential since the cells show considerable fluctuation of discharge voltage at the beginning of discharge/charge cycles. It is found that one of the reasons of the fluctuation is the gradual change of contact area between molten sodium and solid electrolyte.

  • Since the 2000s, China has been trying to develop the mid- and western regions and reduce regional disparity between the eastern region and the others by construction of the eight HSR corridors known as 4+4. The high-speed railway is known to have a positive impact on regional economic development by improving accessibility between regions. However, some studies point out that the high-speed railways could worsen regional imbalances. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of the high-speed railway on regional economic growth and balanced development in China, using the beta-convergence model. In particular, we focused on how the effects of high-speed trains on regional economic development varied depending on the level of development. The analysis was conducted centering on the Shanghai-Chengdu line which is connecting eastern, central and western regions with different levels of development.

  • The purpose of this converged study was to investigate the level of perceived ethical confidence, character, nursing professional value and moral sensitivity as well as to identify the factors influencing the perceived ethical confidence in nurses. The study evaluated on 174 nurses working in general hospital in D and S Province. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, Multiple regression. As a result, the level of perceived ethical confidence was moderate score. There were positive correlations between perceived ethical confidence and character and nursing professional value and moral sensitivity. The significant factors influencing the perceived ethical confidence were character, nursing professional value, moral sensitivity, which explained 25% of variance in perceived ethical confidence. Based on these findings, education programs that develop character and nursing professional value and moral sensitivity are necessary for nurses to promote perceived ethical confidence.
