  • This study aims to standardize the work classification system in spatial data. It is the base frame to classify the general information systematically in spatial data construction process. Work process of the surveying firm and rules for basic surveying which is being accomplished in the NGII(National Geographic Information Institute) are investigated and analysed. Therefore, types, individual process, and results of surveying work is standardized. If the work classification system from this study is adopted as the national standard and is also advanced by construction methodology, the spatial data will be managed futuristically and systematically.

  • The list of the titles of surveying-related papers and books is updated by adding newly polished paper/book titles to the existing one. A special title-search program is developed for managing and searching the surveying-re-lated paper/book titles, and the database is established from the list of the papers. The total number of papers/books in surveying-related field published in Korea upto now is 971. The number of papers/books published in the specific fields are 206 in the conventional surveying field, 218 in Photogrammetry, 183 in Remote Sensing, 127 in Geodesy and GPS, and 237 in Digital Mapping and GIS. The special title-search program is developed using the Visual Basic 3.0 for Windows 3.1 to be operated in the Window environment. The SQL(Structured Query Language) is used for the searching commands.

A Study on the Performance Standard of Surveying Equipments for Cadastral Re-survey Project (지적재조사사업 측량 장비의 성능 기준 연구)

  • In this study, for cadastral surveying specified in current relevant legislation, regulations of allowable error tolerance and applicable equipments, accuracy in the relevant regulations and applicable regulations were comprehensively studied. Based on them, the objective was to develop performance standard for cadastral surveying equipments satisfying allowable error tolerance of cadastral surveying specified in the special law for cadastral re-survey. The study results are as follows. By comparing current legislation for performance and allowable error tolerance of applicable equipments with provisions of the special law for cadastral re-survey, analyzed were where performance of equipments needs to be improved on cadastral re-survey project. Based on them, as primary control point surveying and detail surveying were separated, performance standard of equipments were presented. Results of this study may be utilized as basic materials for supply and demand program of surveying equipments on establishment of the basic plan for cadastral re-survey project.

  • A software package for the basic computations in land-surveying is developed. The least square adjustments for the horizontal and vertical control networks are the main functions of the program, with various computational functions for the traverses, intersections and resections. The coordinate transformations are included as well. The coordinates of the stations and the observations are stored in the databases so that they can be used in any stage of the software process. An editor to manipulate the database is also accomplished.

  • The condition of underground basic rock and the location of cavern site can be found by means of seismic surveying is one of the physical exploration methods by which the prelimirary investigation of underground storage constructions are made in order to maximize the use of a land. This study is valuable in the point of showing a method for the decision of the property of a underground facilities estabilishment, by analying the elastic wave velocity and the distribution of a lower velocity zone and by grasping the weak zone of the basic rock.

  • This study aims to development of web-based process management system for spatial data construction. For developing this system work classification of basic surveying was standardized and quality management method for spatial data was established. Production process and work classification system for basic surveying such as control point surveying using GPS, leveling, aerial photographing, digital mapping, topographic mapping, digital elevation modeling, aerial photographic DB construction and digital orthophotomap was standardized. The status of the output and quality inspection for basic surveying project were analyzed, and the elements of quality inspection and data format for the type of outputs were analyzed. Based on standardized and analyzed contents, web-based process management system was developed after database and process was designed. The process management system consisted of process management, quality control, metadata management, and system management.

  • Harbor design and construction plan in Korea becomes the most hot issue both in the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office and in the related port industries. Production of the plane and cross section maps together with the profile map for harbor project is done firstly and is important in all procedure because it is the most basic datum in counting the constructional expense for determination of the area and capacity. As the expense assigned on surveying part among the total expenses of harbor planning and construction in Korea is very small, it is difficult to make exact maps. Moveover, because the method used to make such maps is mostly traditional surveying such as plane table surveying , offset surveying, stadia surveying and level surveying, etc, it is difficult to get precise three dimensional maps. Therefore, for making more precise map in the harbor project, we have to use the newest surveying equipment. This study discusses the method of old surveying and recent surveying used for the three dimensional map of the site for lighthouse which gives navigational aids for the in-and out-bound ships. The authors are proposing a method for more precise three dimensional positioning in this study.

  • Korea's inspection of cadastral surveying value is carrying out based on cadastral law, and has to enter in cadaster after government office's final inspection of cadastral surveying of land alteration according to the request of land owner or the state. Therefore, government office has to inspect the value of surveying before arranging cadastral book, and has to confirm whether the surveying error is whithin the range of allowing one. If it is, a govenment office has to arrange the cadastral book according to resulting Value. This study investigates and analizes annual land alteration of Sungnam city and analizes the situation of government office's cadastral surving value, the number of inspectors, and equipments. As a result, this study shows the problem and provides effective basic materials, increases the efficacy of the state's cadastral surveying inspection, and minimiges land dispute.

Accuracy Analysis of Road Surveying and Construction Inspection of Underpass Section using Mobile Mapping System

  • MMS (Mobile Mapping System) is being used for HD (High Definition) map construction because it enables fast and accurate data construction, and it is receiving a lot of attention. However, research on the use of MMS in the construction field is insufficient. In this study, road surveying and inspection of construction structures were performed using MMS. Through data acquisition and processing using MMS, point cloud data for the study site was created, and the accuracy was evaluated by comparing with traditional surveying methods. The accuracy analysis results showed a maximum of 0.096m, 0.091m, and 0.093m in the X, Y, and H directions, respectively. Each RMSE was 0.012m, 0.015m, and 0.006m. These result satisfy the accuracy of topographic surveying in the general survey work regulation, indicating that construction surveying using MMS is possible. In addition, a 3D model was created using the design data for the underpass road, and the inspection was performed by comparing it with the MMS data. Through inspection results, deviations in construction can be visually confirmed for the entire underground roadway. The traditional method takes 6 hours for the 4.5km section of the target area, but MMS can significantly shorten the data acquisition time to 0.5 hours. Accurate 3D data is essential data as basic data for future smart construction. With MMS, you can increase the efficiency of construction sites with fast data collection and accuracy.

Hydrographic Surveying in River by RTK GPS (RTK GPS에 의한 하천현황측량)

  • Nowadays, it grows bigger the importance of water resource management, and so, hydrographic surveying technology in river is important because it serves basic data about river environment. And, also, the application field of GPS has been increased and expected to be more increased because of the change of the geodetic reference system to World Geodetic System. In this study, hydrographic surveying in Hwang river in Geochang is accomplished by RTK GPS and Total Station and they are compared and analyzed the both results. The section profile in river is made by Hec-Ras program and CAD. The results show it can be saved 15.3% in surveying times and the amount of surveying works can be enlarged 42.5%. And the standard error between RTK results with calibration and the results without calibration turned out as 2.1 cm. So we have a conclusion that RTK GPS is more efficient surveying method than total station in hydrographic surveying in river.
