Precision Machining Characteristics in Ball-end Milling of Sculptured Surfaces (볼 엔드밀에 의한 자유곡면의 정밀가공특성)

  • This paper deals with the study on the cutting characteristics in ball-end milling process. First of all, the effects of the geometric cutting conditions such as the cutting speed, feedrates and the path interval on the surface integrity were evaluat-ed by the analytical and the experimental approaches. Secondly, the cutting mechanism model was developed to predict the cutting force accurately. It is possible for the proposed model to predict the shape error, estimate system stability and build the reliable adaptive control system. A large amount of experimental set are performed to show the validities of the proposed theories and to investigate the effect of cutting geometry such as rubbing effects, burr effects and etc.

  • The conventional actuators with the speed reducer had weakness in supporting the weight of the body and leg itself. To overcome this, a new four bar link mechanism actuated by the ball screw was proposed. Using this, we developed a new type of 10 D.O.F biped robot. The dynamics model of the biped robot is investigated in this paper. In the modeling process, the robot dynamics are expressed in the joint coordinates using the Euler-Lagrange equation. Then, they are converted in to the sliding joint coordinates, and joint torques are expressed in the force along the sliding direction of the ball screw. To test modeling of the robot, a computer simulation was performed.

  • In this study, the tempering effect on the wear characteristics of induction-hardened SPS5 steel was investigated. For this purpose, three tempering conditions were applied to control the hardness of heat-treated SPS5 steel. Ball-on-disk wear tests have been performed using zircornia balls on the tempered specimens to determine the variation of wear characteristics. The results showed that friction coefficient decreased with increasing hardness for induction hardening conditions. This seems to occur because real contact area between specimen and mating ball was affected by the specimen hardness.

  • The characteristics of ball and beam system using fuzzy inference technique can be described by fuzzy modeling. Therefore, this paper introduces a technique for fuzzy structure identification of nonlinear Input-output relation- ship using an adaptive fuzzy inference system. And the simulation result using adaptive fuzzy inference technique shows its effectiveness for fuzzy structure identification of nonlinear system.

  • The characteristic of synthesized potassium hexatitanate and manufacturing of thin film type matrix for battery was studied. After ball milled the mixture with 1:4 of $K_2CO_3$ and TiO2, mixsture was sintered at 85$0^{\circ}C$ and its product was confirmed with XRD. Adding the PTFE to the obtained potassium hexatitanate according to there various ball-mill time to control its particle size, thin film type matrix was manufactured. The high-est wettability of 50% was found with 12 hour ball milled powder containing 10w/o of PTFE and also it shown good mechanical properties. The matrix with $K_2O$$\cdot$$6TiO_2$ whisker shown 170% of wettability. Thed char-acteristics of matrix made by whisker and powder mixture were compared with the investigation of bubbled pressure and pore size distribution to improve its mechanical properties.

  • For irregular nonlinear systems, switching controlk form is proposed recently. This control law is designed to overcome the singularities through the scheme that switches between an approximate tracking law close to the singularities, and an exact tracking law away from the singularities. But, that form has problems which may break the system's stability through unstable control input value at switching procedure. In this paper, We propose new switching control law which supervises approximate tracking control law and exact tracking control law by fuzzy rules to overcome unstability problem in switching procedure.

  • Recently, the importance of elemental technologies constituting smart factories is increasing due to the 4th Industrial Revolution, and simulation is widely used as a tool to learn these technologies. In particular, PID control is an automatic control technique used in various fields, and most of them analyze mathematical models in certain situations or research on application development with built-in controllers. In actual educational environment requires PID simulator training as well as PID control principles. In this paper, we propose a model that enables education and practice of various PID controls through 3D simulation. The proposed model implemented virtual balls and Fan and implemented PID control by configuring a system so that the force can be lifted by the air pressure generated in the Fan. At this time, the height of the ball was expressed in a graph according to each gain value of the PID controller and then compared with the actual system, and through this, satisfactory results sufficiently applicable to the actual class were confirmed. Through the proposed model, it is expected that the rapidly increasing elemental technology of smart factories can be used in various ways in a remote classroom environment.

Effect of swiss ball exercise on the muscular strength, flexibility and balance of healthy adults by presence of pelvic compression belt (골반압박 벨트 유무에 따른 스위스 볼 운동이 건강한 성인의 허리 근력과 유연성 그리고 균형능력에 미치는 영향)

  • Background: This study is goal to explore the effects of swiss ball exercise on muscular strength, flexibility, and balance in healthy adults with and without pelvic compression belts. Design: Randomized Controlled Trial. Methods: This study randomly divided the experimental and control groups in 24 healthy adults wearing pelvic compression belts, and they conducted Swiss ball exercise programs, 5 times for 40 minutes a week during 3 weeks in conclusion 15 times. Results: The results showed that the experimental groups have increased significantly in muscle strength and flexibility (p<.05). Conclusion: This study showed that pelvic compression belts and Swiss ball exercise programs will help health improvements such as muscle strength, flexibility, and balance in normal adults, and it is also thought to be worth applying to patients with back pain.

A Fundamental Study on Offshore Structures of high pressure control valve (해양구조물용 고압 컨트롤 밸브에 대한 기초 연구)

  • This study have goal with conceptual design for Offshore Structures of high pressure control valve for localization. Ball valve for development accomplished with flow analysis based on provision of ANSI B16.34, ANSI B16.10, ANSI B16.25 In order to localize the Offshore Structures high pressure control valve. Numerical simulation using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) in order to predict a mass flow rate and a flow coefficient form flow dynamic point of view. The working fluid assumed the glycerin (C3H8O3). The valve inlet and outlet setup a pressure boundary condition. The outlet pressure was fixed by atmospheric pressure and calculated until increasing 1bar to 10bar. CFD analysis used STAR-CCM+ which is commercial code and Governing equations were calculated by moving mesh which is rotated 90 degrees when ball valve operated opening and closing in 1 degree interval. The result shows change of mass flow rate according to opening and closing angle of valve, Flow decrease observed open valve that equal percentage flow paten which is general inclination of ball valve. Relation with flow and flow coefficient can not be proportional according to inlet pressure when compare with mass flow rate. Because flow coefficient have influence in flow and pressure difference. Namely, flow can be change even if it has same Cv value. The structural analysis used ANSYS which is a commercial code. Stress analysis result of internal pressure in valve showed lower than yield strength. This is expect to need more detail design and verification for stem and seat structure.
