건축교육에서 BIM 프로그램 적용에 관한 연구 (A study on the Practical Adaptation of BIM Programs for Architectural Education)

  • The advent of BIM(Building Information Modeling) design process based on the digital media has brought innovation to the production and management of AEC industry. Accordingly the need for educating BIM professionals has been radically increased both in the real world practice and in academia. Some developed countries have already been studying and establishing the optimized curriculum in the academic architecture courses for BIM based education with multi_efforts using the digital media as design processing tools focused on educating architectural professionals with creativity and productivity. However in the domestic education systems, it is hardly found that researches and curriculums deal with the BIM education in the academia. Thus the objective of this paper is to investigate the architectural design pedagogy in the advanced digital media setting in response to the urgent need for BIM education. This study focuses on developing the curriculum based on practical adaptation of BIM programs for architectural education. It aims to provide students with the basic understanding of BIM theory and the practice of BIM tools as an instrument enhancing the creativity for architectural design. Thus this study proposes an BIM curriculum for the students who first encounter the notion and knowledge of BIM during their academic years. And the education result after the application of this curriculum has been analysed through the students questionnaires before and after the lecture.

  • The introduction of BIM-based project has increased in the domestic recently. Therefore the demand of BIM professionals is surging combined with the necessity of BIM education. However BIM education done in the domestic industry and public organization is only focusing on the 3D modeling, As a result an educatee could not put the real intention of BIM into practice. Thus through this study the wrong recognition of BIM will be corrected and this study analyzes the problems of domestic BIM-based project. This study examines the improvement of domestic BIM education cases by drawing the capability of BIM professionals.

  • The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the improvement of the education process in architectural engineering through the analysis of the advantages of the BIM tool. As public institutions and owners have been introduced to Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools, BIM has become an important factor in the design process in undergraduate university programs. First, BIM-related issues, domestic and overseas, was analyzed. Second, a case study of BIM education was analyzed at K University under the ABEEK process. Students participated a survey about the understanding of BIM and the use of BIM tools. As a result of the analysis, six advantages of the use of BIM tools were found. As a result of this research, following five issues are found about BIM education through advantage of using BIM tools. The result of this research was verified by conducting a survey on the usage of BIM softwares. The limitation of this study was to analyze the case study of only limited numbers of participants at the university.

  • BIM(Building Information Modeling) is an indispensable tool to secure global competitiveness in construction sector, as already adapted significantly in European countries and U.S. In particular, as considering School Buildings constructed by BTL Method, using BIM tools are required for the accurate estimation of construction cost in planning stage, exact design and construction, well-judged settlement and performance of maintenance schedule. Therefore, this study investigates the BIM education status and the problems on using BIM tools through a survey of 100 BIM trainees and suggests improvement method of BIM education.

특성화 고등학교 BIM 교육 현황 분석 및 활성화를 위한 개선방안 (A Study on the Improvement Plan for Activation and Analysis of BIM Education in Specialized High School)

  • In order to meet current AEC(Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industrial demand, BIM related NCS(National Competency Standards)'s study module in architectural design and construction has been created and it has been applied into the NCS-based curriculum of Specialized High Schools and Meister High Schools from March 2016. Therefore, the goal of this study is to identify the limitations BIM education in the Specialized High School and to find out the improvement plan for activation. Analysis of previous research literature and current education curriculums in the Specialized High School, and questionnaire survey of related teachers have been conducted. Finally, this paper investigated the case of BIM education in 'S' Technical High School where BIM education is carried out. This paper suggests the following three points in conclusion: 1) Updated curriculum reflecting NCS and industrial demand is necessary, 2) Continuing BIM education for teachers and financial support is necessary to get the qualified teaching capacity, 3) Curriculum reflecting BIM's possibilities needs to be developed across the interdisciplinary subjects to maximize its effect.

건축설계 과정에서 융합적 사고능력 향상을 위한 국내 대학의 BIM 교육과정 운영실태 분석과 교육전략 제안 (Analysis of Curriculum Management and Proposal of BIM Educational Strategy in Architecture Design)

  • 건축설계 실무에서 디자인 통합설계에 대한 요구에 대응하기 위해서 BIM(건축정보모델링) 교육이 절실함에도 불구하고 한국건축학교육인증에 참여하고 있는 60개 대학 건축학과의 교육과정 운영 실태를 전수 조사한 결과 대부분의 대학에서는 BIM교육을 전혀 제공하지 않거나 단 1개의 정규교과목만 개설하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 BIM 교과목 수강과 비교과 활동을 수행한 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사한 결과 정규교과목보다 비교과 활동을 통해 유효한 교육성과를 더 많이 얻었던 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 조사 결과와 국내 교육기관의 BIM 교육 프로그램 분석결과, 그리고 대학의 현실적인 제약사항을 모두 고려하고 교육 공급자인 대학교수와 사용 주체인 실무 건축가의 평가 및 의견수렴을 거쳐 건축설계 과정에서 융합적 사고능력 향상을 위해 교과과정 및 비교과활동으로 구성된 대학의 BIM 교육 전략을 제안하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose an curriculum for architectural studio in university to implement BIM process, through the analysis of the advantages of the BIM tool. The limitation of this study was to analyze the case study of only half year a single university. University education in the design process, the design that can be used in applying BIM content should be universal, university education considering the special working conditions, excessive BIM-based application can be difficult. Therefore, a systematic and reliable design that can be applied to education applies BIM design process is necessary to establish. University education applying BIM design review and design proposal the various 3D visualization can be used effectively to determine. In addition, the planned representation for thinking about and drawing 3D model building, architectural space can be used for visualization, and other subjects in conjunction with structural analysis, environmental analysis, facility layout, etc. can be used.

  • BIM은 최근 공공 및 민간 발주자에 의해 활용이 점차 확대 시행 되고 있으며, 설계사무실에서도 BIM을 도입하고자 하고 있다. 이런 흐름에 발맞추어 학부교육에서 BIM의 교육이 필요함을 인지하고, 현재 진행되고 있는 국내 BIM 교육의 현황을 파악하여 학부교육에서 이루어질 수 있는 설계교육 프로세스의 개선을 도출하고자 하였다. 기존에 건축공학 교육과정에 BIM을 활용하여 구조, 시공, 설비의 각 요소의 핵심이 반영된 종합적인 설계가 가능하게 하고자 한다. 3D 중심의 설계를 통하여 구조설계교육을 강화하고 BIM 도구를 활용하여 공정 및 적산을 연계한 시공 CM교육을 강화하고 친환경 사전분석을 통해 친환경설계 교육을 이루도록 설계교육 프로세스를 개선하고자 한다.

  • Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is a new trend in the building industry and a key feature of IPD is the use of BIM to support project collaboration. Therefore, engineers should learn the use of BIM and IPD in the construction industry. In this study, the authors draw necessary components for developing an IPD course curriculum through analyzing a project case and current courses provided by universities in Korea. The authors make several suggestions for effective IPD education in universities.

  • 전세계적으로 다양한 산업영역에서 디지털전환을 통한 새로운 가치 창출을 하고 있다. 특히 건설산업의 설계분야에서는 기존 CAD를 이용한 설계방식을 BIM(Building Information Modeling) 설계로 전환하고 있으며 국토부에서는2025년부터 BIM 설계 의무화를 추진하고 있다. 그러나 건설산업영역에서는 BIM 설계방식을 대응하기 위하여 노력하고 있으나 현실적으로 BIM 설계가 가능한 인력을 구하기 어려운 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 건설산업의 지하시설물 토목 설계분야에서 BIM 설계가 가능하도록 효율적인 업무 프로세스 개선 방안에 대하여 소개하고 BIM 설계 전문 인력 양성을 위한 방법론을 제안한다.
