  • The linearly constrained quadratic programming(QP) considered is : $$ min f(x) = c^T x + \frac{1}{2}x^T Hx $$ $$ (1) subject to A^T x \geq b,$$ where $c,x \in R^n, b \in R^m, H \in R^{n \times n)}$, symmetric, and $A \in R^{n \times n}$. If there are bounds on x, these are included in the matrix $A^T$. The Hessian matrix H may be positive definite or negative semi-difinite. For large problems H and the constraint matrix A are assumed to be sparse.

A Fibrinolytic Enzyme from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens D4-7 Isolated from Chungkook-Jang; It′s Characterization and Influence of Additives on Thermostability. (청국장으로부터 분리한 Bacillus amyloliquefaciens D4-7이 분비하는 혈전용해효소의 특성 및 열안정성에 미치는 첨가물의 효과)

  • Bacillus amyloliquefaciens D4, which produces a strongly fibrinolytic enzyme, was isolated from Chungkook-Jang, a traditional Korean soybean-fermented food. B. amyloliquefaciens D4 was mutated with N-methyl-N-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine (MNNG) to yield a series of mutants with increasing levels of fibrinolytic enzyme production. After mutation, a mutant D4-7 was obtained with fibrinolytic activity about eight times stronger than the parent strain. The fibrinolytic activity of B. amyloliquefaciens D4-7, reached a maximum, when the producer was cultivated in 2% Isolated Soy Protein (ISP) broth for 48 h at $37^{\circ}C$. Compared to commercial fibrinolytic enzymes, the cell-free culture supernatant of B. amyloliquefaciens D4-7 showed stronger activity than plasmin and streptokinase. The optimum temperature and pH were $50^{\circ}C$ and 10.0 and thermostability was increased by the addition of glycerol, glucose, and NaCl.

Effect of trans-10, cis-12 Conjugated Linoleic Acid on Calcium-Dependent Reactive Oxygen Species and Nitric Oxide Production and Nuclear Factor-${\kappa}B$ Activation in Lipopolysaccharide-Stimulated RAW 264.7 Cells (LPS 자극 RAW 264.7 세포에 있어서 칼슘의존성 ROS와 NO 생산 및 NF-${\kappa}B$ 활성에 대한 CLA의 억제효과)

  • Trans-10, cis-12-conjugated linoleic acid (t10c12-CLA) has been shown to participate in the regulation of anti-inflammatory effects. The objectives of this study were to examine the effects of t10c12-CLA on reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide (NO) production and nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-${\kappa}B$) activation in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells and to determine whether these effects were associated with change of intracellular calcium ion ($Ca^{2+}$). ROS production was increased in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells, and this effect was suppressed by 1,2-bis-(o-aminophenoxy) ethane-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid-acetoxymethyl ester (BAPTA/AM), a calcium chelator. t10c12-CLA suppressed ROS production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells, which was further more decreased by treatment with BAPTA/AM. These indicated that t10c12-CLA decreases $Ca^{2+}$-dependent ROS production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. Similarly, NF-${\kappa}B$ p65 DNA binding activity and NO production were decreased by treatment with either t10c12-CLA, BAPTA/AM, or t10c12-CLA and BAPTA/AM combination. However, there were no differences between t10c12-CLA and BAPTA/AM treatment in NO production of LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. These data indicate that t10c12-CLA inhibits the increases in ROS and NO production and the NF-${\kappa}B$ activation in LPS-stimulated condition. These results suggested that CLA exerts potent anti-inflammatory effects by suppression of LPS-induced ROS and NO production, and NF-${\kappa}B$ activationn via $Ca^{2+}$-dependent pathway.

  • In this paper, we have first presented the construction of the linear characters of a finite Coxeter group $G_n$ of type $B_n$ by lifting all linear characters of the quotient group $G_n/[G_n,G_n]$ of the commutator subgroup $[G_n,G_n]$. Also we show that the sets of distinguished coset representatives $D_A$ and $D_{A^{\prime}}$ for any two signed compositions A, A' of n which are $G_n$-conjugate to each other and for each conjugate class ${\mathcal{C}}_{\lambda}$ of $G_n$, where ${\lambda}{\in}\mathcal{BP}(n)$, the equality ${\mid}{\mathcal{C}}_{\lambda}{\cap}D_A{\mid}={\mid}{\mathcal{C}}_{\lambda}{\cap}D_{A^{\prime}}{\mid}$ holds. Finally, we have given the general structure of units of Mantaci-Reutenauer algebra.

Synthesis of AlN-SiO2-Al2O3 System (AlN-SiO2-Al2O3계로부터 AlN-Polytypes의 제조)

  • In order to synthesize AlN-polytypes from AlN-SiO2-Al2O3 system, composition A (AlN/SiO2/Al2O3=1/0.3/0.05, mole ratio) and composition B(AlN-SiO2-Al2O3=1/0.2/0.05, mole ratio) were used. AlN-polytypes were produced by nitriding the mixture at 175$0^{\circ}C$~190$0^{\circ}C$ under N2 atmosphere. For lower reaction temperature, 15R phase was produced and in the case of higher reaction temperature, AlN phase was only produced. As each composition was heated at 185$0^{\circ}C$ in N2 atmosphere, produced main phases were 15R phase for composition A and 21R phase for composition B respectively. The fracture surfaces of produced reactants showed porous skeleton structure.

  • We prove that a (k, $\mu$)-manifold with vanishing E­Bochner curvature tensor is a Sasakian manifold. Several interesting corollaries of this result are drawn. Non-Sasakian (k, $\mu$)­manifolds with C-Bochner curvature tensor B satisfying B $(\xi,\;X)\;\cdot$ S = 0, where S is the Ricci tensor, are classified. N(K)-contact metric manifolds $M^{2n+1}$, satisfying B $(\xi,\;X)\;\cdot$ R = 0 or B $(\xi,\;X)\;\cdot$ B = 0 are classified and studied.

Improvement effect of total nitrogen and amino acid content in spent mushroom substrates by bacterial treatment (세균을 이용한 수확후배지의 총질소 및 아미노산 증진 효과)

  • This study was conducted to reuse spent mushroom substrates (SMS) of Pleurotus ostreatus and improve their nitrogen content by bacterial treatment. Two kinds of bacteria were used to investigate the increase in total nitrogen (T-N) content. Bacillus sp. (GM20-4) was isolated from SMS of oyster mushroom, and Rhodobacter sphaeroides (RS) was obtained from Gwangju Si Agricultural Technology Center. SMS samples were collected from three oyster mushroom cultivation farms located in Gyeonggi-do province, Korea. When dried SMS was inoculated with 30% culture broth of GM20-4 and RS and incubated at room temperature ($25{\pm}2^{\circ}C$) for 5 days, T-N content increased. To investigate the T-N content of other SMS, three dried SMS samples (A, B, and C) were treated by the same method using GM20-4 and RS. As a result, the T-N content of sample B was 20% higher than that of the control, whereas the T-N content of samples A and C increased to 17% and 12%, respectively. The change in T-N content by bacterial treatment of wet SMS was slightly higher than that of the control. The changes in amino acid content were also found to be higher than those in the control in all SMS samples by GM20-4 and RS treatment. Aspartic acid and glutamic acid contents were the highest among all amino acid compositions. Especially, the aspartic and glutamic acid contents of sample B increased by 2.9 folds higher than the control.

  • In this paper, we first give some representations for four new mock theta functions defined by Andrews [1] and Bringmann, Hikami and Lovejoy [5] using divisor sums. Then, some transformation and summation formulae for these functions and corresponding bilateral series are derived as special cases of 2𝜓2 series $${\sum\limits_{n=-{{\infty}}}^{{\infty}}}{\frac{(a,c;q)_n}{(b,d;q)_n}}z^n$$ and Ramanujan's sum $${\sum\limits_{n=-{{\infty}}}^{{\infty}}}{\frac{(a;q)_n}{(b;q)_n}}z^n$$.

The Effect of Nb2O5 Addition on Properties of PZT Ceramics Prepared by Partial Oxalate Method (부분수산법으로 제조한 PZT세라믹스의 특성에 미치는Nb2O5 첨가효과)

  • Highly homogeneous PZT powder was prepared by a partial oxalate method using chemicals of (Z $r_{0.53}$ $Ti_{0.47}$) $O_2$, Pb(N $o_3$)$_2$and (COOH)$_2$ㆍ2$H_2O$. N $b_2$ $O_{5}$ addition effect on microstructure and electrical properties of PZT ceramics was investigated. When the precursors were calcined at 71$0^{\circ}C$, a single perovskite phase was obtained. After sintering at 110$0^{\circ}C$, X-ray diffraction Patterns showed coexistence of rhombohedral and tetragonal phases regardless of the N $b_2$ $O_{5}$ content. As the content of N $b_2$ $O_{5}$ increased, grain size decreased but sintered density increased. The electromechanical coupling factor of kp and the piezoelectric constant of $d_{31}$ increased linearly with the content of N $b_2$ $O_{5}$, and those values reached 0.7 and -200, respectively, when 1.2 mol% of N $b_2$ $O_{5}$ is added. is added.ded.

We investigate that if an odd mapping f : X ${\rightarrow}$ Y satisfies the following equation $2_{n-2}C_{\frac{n}{2}-1}rf\(\sum\limits^n_{j=1}{\frac{x_j}{r}}\)\;+\;{\sum\limits_{i_k{\in}\{0,1\} \atop {{\sum}^n_{k=1}\;i_k={\frac{n}{2}}}}\;rf\(\sum\limits^n_{i=1}(-1)^{i_k}{\frac{x_i}{r}}\)=2_{n-2}C_{{\frac{n}{2}}-1}\sum\limits^n_{i=1}f(x_i),$ then f : X ${\rightarrow}$ Y is additive, where $r{\in}R$. We also prove the stability in normed group by using shadowing property and the Hyers-Ulam stability of the functional equation in Banach spaces and in Banach modules over unital C-algebras. As an application, we show that every almost linear bijection h : A ${\rightarrow}$ B of unital $C^*$-algebras A and B is a $C^*$-algebra isomorphism when $h(\frac{2^s}{r^s}uy)=h(\frac{2^s}{r^s}u)h(y)$ for all unitaries u ${\in}$ A, all y ${\in}$ A, and s = 0, 1, 2,....
