This study examined the field of view of older drivers based on their eye points. The subjects were 25 people whose age was over 65 years and 10 contrasting subjects on their 20s. For the experiment, we expanded the width of the A-pillar of a test vehicle. With a measuring apparatus designed for the study, we analyzed 3 axes of coordinates from glabella to a fixed point of the vehicle that would be used as CAD data of vehicle design. Result shows that average eye point of the older subjects was located significantly farther from the seat than that of the 20s approximately by 31.62mm(p=0.05). It was also found that the Binocular FOV was not significantly different between the older subjects and the 20s(p=0.85), and the effect of the width of the A-pillar on the FOV could not be found. We also measured the left and right side of the Ambinocular FOV of the older subjects. It was found that the older subjects had much wider visual angle than the 20s by 2.84 degree (F=4.78, p=0.01) on the left side, while the 20s showed significantly wider average angle than the older subjects by about 4.88 degree (F=4.78, p<0.05) on the right side. The results of this study can be used to improve the FOV based on the optimal eye points when designing a vehicle for older drivers.
This study was conducted to reproduce the four-piece bodice pattern of a ladies' costume of the 1890's for Korean women in their twenties with a standard body type and average size. Eighteen four-piece bodice patterns of the ladies' costume of the 1890's were collected and drawn to actual size. The front width of the bodice was wider than the back width. The front bust line of the bodice was wider than the sum of the back bust line, the side back bust line and the under-arm gore bust line. The front waist line of the bodice was wider than the sum of the back waist line, the side back waist line and the under-arm gore waist line. The angles of the two waist darts of the bodice were very big but the legs of the dart were too short. The center front line of the bodice was oblique and curved. The angle of the back shoulder line of the bodice was bigger than the angle of front shoulder line. The shoulder seam line of the bodice was not placed on the top of the shoulder but behind the shoulder. The pattern characteristics of the bodice created a woman's silhouette that emphasized the volume of the bust, a chicken breast and a slim waist. The study pattern which had the characteristics of the four-piece bodice of the 1890's was designed like for Korean women in their twenties who have a standard body type and an average size through modifications based on the evaluation of two dressing occasions. The study pattern was evaluated to have the silhouette of the 1890's and to fit Korean women.

Purpose: The purpose of this report is to evaluate the measured values of normal Korean calcaneus by conduct of a cadaveric study. Materials and Methods: A total of 42 calcanei were obtained from Korean cadavers. A digital goniometer was used for measurement of B$\ddot{o}$hler's angle, Gissane angle, posterior facet articular inclination angle, and Fowler-Philip angle of calcaneus. A vernier caliper was used for measurement of the maximal antero-posterior length, maximal transverse width, and maximal height of calcaneus. Results: The average B$\ddot{o}$hler's angle, Gissane angle, posterior facet articular inclination angle, and Fowler-Philip angle was $32.3^{\circ}{\pm}5.0^{\circ}$, $114.4^{\circ}{\pm}8.2^{\circ}$, $61.2^{\circ}{\pm}4.4^{\circ}$, and $60.3^{\circ}{\pm}7.6^{\circ}$. The average maximal antero-posterior length, maximal transverse width, and maximal height of calcaneus was $74.2{\pm}3.0mm$, $43.0{\pm}4.0mm$, and $42.5{\pm}3.0mm$. Conclusion: The measured values of normal Korean calcaneus were lower than the values reported in the international literature. Therefore, development of appropriate instruments reflecting the anatomical characteristics of Koreans will be needed.
The research is focused on relationship between body fat percentage and physical characteristics of women in age group between 20s and 30s who experience great deal of physical change such as marriage, pregnancy, delivery, breast-feeding, and etc. The research used physical measurement of two hundreds women: 50 women in their early twenties, 50 women in their late twenties, 50 women in their early thirties, and 50 women in their late thirties. The research provides base data for women clothing industry by observing relationship between physical figure and body fat percentage rate based on obesity study on body fat percentage, physical BMI, R$\ddot{o}$hrer Index, and Vervaeck Index. Followings are conclusion of the research. The older the ages, the shorter the height and the heavier the weight. Recognizable differences in circumference, thickness, and width rather than in length are found. Also recognizable increases in average body fat percentage and average physical characteristics by age have found. By observing body fat percentage and physical measurements, it was revealed that weight has more effect on body fat percentage than height in all ages. Circumference, width, and thickness have more impact than length measurements among physical measurements. Main body or upper body has more impact than legs and arms or lower body. Body fat percentage increase rapidly by ages. 2.0% of age 20~24, 20.0% of age 25~29, 28.0% of age 30~34, and 54.0% of age 35~39 were sorted as obesity.
The purpose of this research is firstly to derive regular sizes of average dwellings in Korea and to examine minimum living standards in light of those regular dwellings in order to meet future housing requirements of low income households. Two plan types of unit floor area 60 $m^2$ and 85 $m^2$ have become prevalent and ubiquitous so as to reflect the basic requirements of ordinary living standards. Thus, dimensional characteristics of each space in those two plan types is thoroughly investigated in this research. The background of regular plans and their popularized process is first reviewed and the 120 cases of apartment units which were constructed between 2000 and 2007, are selected from those three regional groups and surveyed in detail. The area, depth, width and proportion of each space of unit plans are compared and analyzed in various aspects. As a result, proper space sizes and standards for low income households are reviewed and compared. The regional difference of space dimensions is not significant as expected but area and size characteristics of each space is very much regularized and obvious. And it is argued that those dimensional characteristics should convey the social and cultural values of Korean housing. The average dimensions of each spaces of surveyed apartment unit turns out to be much closer to guidable living standards rather than minimum living standards. Thus, it is very probable that the present guidable living standards could be upgraded to become the future minimum living standards soon.

Background: Monte Carlo (MC) simulation is the most accurate for calculating radiation dose distribution and determining patient dose. In MC simulations of the therapeutic accelerator, the characteristics of the initial electron must be precisely determined in order to achieve accurate simulations. However, It has been computation-, labor-, and time-intensive to predict the beam characteristics through predominantly empirical approach. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationships between electron beam parameters and dose distribution, with the goal of simplifying the MC commissioning process. Materials and Methods: The Varian Clinac 2300 IX machine was modeled with the Geant4 MC-toolkit. The percent depth dose (PDD) and lateral beam profiles were assessed according to initial electron beam parameters of mean energy, radial intensity distribution, and energy distribution. Results and Discussion: The PDD values increased on average by 4.36% when the mean energy increased from 5.6 MeV to 6.4 MeV. The PDD was also increased by 2.77% when the energy spread increased from 0 MeV to 1.019 MeV. In the lateral dose profile, increasing the beam radial width from 0 mm to 4 mm at the full width at half maximum resulted in a dose decrease of 8.42% on the average. The profile also decreased by 4.81% when the mean energy was increased from 5.6 MeV to 6.4 MeV. Of all tested parameters, electron mean energy had the greatest influence on dose distribution. The PDD and profile were calculated using parameters optimized and compared with the golden beam data. The maximum dose difference was assessed as less than 2%. Conclusion: The relationship between the initial electron and treatment beam quality investigated in this study can be used in Monte Carlo commissioning of medical linear accelerator model.
Specially designed test material was used for workpiece temperature measurement in the commercial reheating furnace and a linearized thermal model was applied for real time temperature prediction. The applied furnace is a walking beam type and specification of the workpiece is a STS302 which is 160mm in width, 160mm in height and 8100mm in length. Also six thermocouples were installed in width, height and length direction for temperature measurement. Ambient temperature in the furnace was raised to 1265 Celsius degrees and it took about 2.5 hours from loading to discharging of the workpiece. As a result of the experiment, temperature of the workpiece at discharge was 1257 Celsius degrees on the average in the range of 1256 to 1259 Celsius degrees, and predicted average temperature through the thermal model was 1251 Celsius degrees. Therefore, the deviation of the analysis and test results is about 6 degrees, which is within the range of 10 degrees required by the industry.
Using a multi-array needle module developed for coating of high-density cylindrical microlens array (C-MLA), we have fabricated an anti-Moiré filter for LED screens. The Moiré phenomenon appears due to the interference between the array pattern of image sensors in a camera and the non-emission area (grid pattern) of a LED screen. To suppress it, we have employed poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and coated it on a glass substrate in the form of a grid and non-grid (parallel lines). We have rotated the needle module in order to increase the number of C-MLAs. With this scheme, we have fabricated the 150 mm × 150 mm anti-Moiré filters where 836 microlens lines are formed. They show the average width of 255.4 ㎛, the average distance between CMLs of 94.6 ㎛, and C-MLA width non-uniformity of 4.7%. We have shown that the Moiré patterns still appear in the presence of the parallel (non-grid)-type filter, whereas they disappeared completely by the grid-type filter. It is due to the fact that the Moiré patterns are diffused more effectively by the grid-type C-MLA.

Women in their 30s and 40s, who are at the center of "ageless" and "down-aging" consumer trends, are likely to encounter problems with fitting and size conformity when they wear casual clothes targeting women in their 20s. Hence, differences in upper body sizes and body types between women in their 20s and women in their 30s and 40s were analyzed. The data for this study was from the 6th Size Korea survey of body measurements of 1,675 female adults in their 20s-40s. SPSS 21.0 for Windows was used for analysis of the collected data. To examine differences in average upper body size between women in their 20s and women in their 30s and 40s, descriptive statistics and independent sample t-tests were conducted. Factor and cluster analyses were used to classify body types by age groups. Comparing direct measurement items showed that women in their 20s tend to have higher average values for most height-related items-including body height-and lower average values for circumference, thickness, and width than women in their 30s and 40s. Factors in determining the upper body shapes of women in their 20s to 40s were narrowed to five; through a cluster analysis, upper body shapes of women were classified into three body types as follows. Type 1 women are shorter and thinner with small frames; Type 2 women have the highest vertical values for their upper bodies and average values for obesity-related categories of circumference, thickness, and width. Type 3 women are the shortest and has the highest body mass index (BMI), verifiable as obese. By analyzing differences in body type distribution according to age groups, it was found that more than 90% of women in their 20s belong to Types 1 and 2. On the other hand, most women in their 30s and 40s are identified as Type 3.
