  • Let $\pi : P \to S^4$ be a principal G-bundle over $S^4$ whose the structure group G is a compact, connected, simple Lie group. Since $\pi_3(G) = \pi_4 (BG) = Z$, we can classify the principal bundle $P_k$ over $S^4$ by the map $S^4 \to BG$ of degree k. Atiyah and Jones [2] showed that $C_k = A_k/g^b_k$ is homotopy equivalent to $\Omega^3_k G \simeq \Omega^4_k BG$ where $A_k$ is the space of the all connections in $P_k$ and $g^b_k$ is the based gauge group which consists of all base point preserving automorphisms on $P_k$. Here $\Omega^nX$ is the space of all base-point preserving continuous map from $S^n$ to X. Let $M_k$ be the space of based gauge equivalence classes of all connections in $P_k$ satisfying the Yang-Mills self-duality equations, which we call the moduli space of G instantons.

  • In this paper we show that the Koecher's Jordan automorphic generators of one variable on an irreducible symmetric cone are enough to determine the elements of scalar multiple of the Jordan identity on the attached simple Euclidean Jordan algebra. Its various geometric, Jordan and Lie theoretic interpretations associated to the Cartan-Hadamard metric and Cartan decomposition of the linear automorphisms group of a symmetric cone are given with validity on infinite-dimensional spin factors

  • A $JB^{*}-triple$ is a Banach space A on which the group Aut(B) of biholomorphic automorphisms acts transitively on the open unit ball B of A. In this case, a triple product {$\cdots$} from $A\;\times\;A\;\times\;A\;to\;A$ can be defined in a canonical way. If A is also the dual of some Banach space $A_{*}$, then A is said to be a JBW triple. A projection R on A is said to be structural if the identity {Ra, b, Rc} = R{a, Rb, c, }holds. On $JBW^{*}-triples$, structural projections being algebraic objects by definition have also some interesting metric properties, and it is possible to give a full characterization of structural projections in terms of the norm of the predual $A_{*}$ of A. It is shown, that the class of structural projections on A coincides with the class of the adjoints of neutral GL-projections on $A_{*}$. Furthermore, the class of GL-projections on $A_{*}$ is naturally ordered and is completely ortho-additive with respect to L-orthogonality.

  • Let G be a topological group with a locally compact and Hausdorff topology. Let ω be a diagonally bounded weight on G. In this paper, (σ, σ)-derivation and (σ, 𝜏)-weak amenability of the Beurling algebra L1ω(G) are studied, where σ, 𝜏 are isometric automorphisms of L1ω(G). We prove that every continuous (σ, σ)-derivation from L1ω(G) into measure algebra Mω(G) is (σ, σ)-inner and the Beurling algebra L1ω(G) is (σ, 𝜏)-weakly amenable.

Cryptographic Protocols using Semidirect Products of Finite Groups

  • Non-abelian group based cryptosystems are a latest research inspiration, since they offer better security due to their non-abelian properties. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to non-abelian group based public-key cryptographic protocols using semidirect products of finite groups. An intractable problem of determining automorphisms and generating elements of a group is introduced as the underlying mathematical problem for the suggested protocols. Then, we show that the difficult problem of determining paths and cycles of Cayley graphs including Hamiltonian paths and cycles could be reduced to this intractable problem. The applicability of Hamiltonian paths, and in fact any random path in Cayley graphs in the above cryptographic schemes and an application of the same concept to two previous cryptographic protocols based on a Generalized Discrete Logarithm Problem is discussed. Moreover, an alternative method of improving the security is also presented.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with identity 1, n ≥ 3, and let 𝒯n(R) be the linear Lie algebra of all upper triangular n × n matrices over R. A linear map 𝜑 on 𝒯n(R) is called to be strong commutativity preserving if [𝜑(x), 𝜑(y)] = [x, y] for any x, y ∈ 𝒯n(R). We show that an invertible linear map 𝜑 preserves strong commutativity on 𝒯n(R) if and only if it is a composition of an idempotent scalar multiplication, an extremal inner automorphism and a linear map induced by a linear function on 𝒯n(R).

  • Let G be an arbitrary, connected, simply connected and unimodular Lie group of dimension 3. On the space 𝔐(G) of left-invariant Lorentzian metrics on G, there exists a natural action of the group Aut(G) of automorphisms of G, so it yields an equivalence relation ≃ on 𝔐(G), in the following way: h1 ≃ h2 ⇔ h2 = 𝜙*(h1) for some 𝜙 ∈ Aut(G). In this paper a procedure to compute the orbit space Aut(G)/𝔐(G) (so called moduli space of 𝔐(G)) is given.

  • A mapping T : R → R (not necessarily additive) is called multiplicative left 𝛼-centralizer if T(xy) = T(x)𝛼(y) for all x, y ∈ R. A mapping F : R → R (not necessarily additive) is called multiplicative (generalized)(𝛼, 𝛽)-derivation if there exists a map (neither necessarily additive nor derivation) f : R → R such that F(xy) = F(x)𝛼(y) + 𝛽(x)f(y) for all x, y ∈ R, where 𝛼 and 𝛽 are automorphisms on R. The main purpose of this paper is to study some algebraic identities with multiplicative (generalized) (𝛼, 𝛽)-derivations and multiplicative left 𝛼-centralizer on the left ideal of a prime ring R.

  • Let M be a von Neumann algebra and .alpha., .betha. be *-automorphisms of M satisfying the operator equation .alpha.+.alpha.$^{-1}$ =.betha.+.betha.$^{-1}$ This operator equation has been extensively studied and many important decomposition theorems have been obtained by several authors (for instance see [4], [5], [2], [1]). Originally, this operator equation arose in the paper of Van Daele on the new approach of the Tomita-Takesaki theory in the case of modular operators ([7]). In the case of one-parameter automorphism groups, this equation has produced a bounded and completely positive map which can play a role similar to the infinitesimal generator (for details see [6] and [1]). A recent and one of the most important applications of this equation has been in developing an anglogue of the Tomita-Takesaki theory for Jordan algebras by Haagerup [3]. QUANTUM MARKOVIAN SEMIGROUPS ON QUANTUM SPIN SYSTEMS: GLAUBER DYNAMICS

  • We study a class of KMS-symmetric quantum Markovian semigroups on a quantum spin system ($\mathcal{A},{\tau},{\omega}$), where $\mathcal{A}$ is a quasi-local algebra, $\tau$ is a strongly continuous one parameter group of *-automorphisms of $\mathcal{A}$ and $\omega$ is a Gibbs state on $\mathcal{A}$. The semigroups can be considered as the extension of semi groups on the nontrivial abelian subalgebra. Let $\mathcal{H}$ be a Hilbert space corresponding to the GNS representation con structed from $\omega$. Using the general construction method of Dirichlet form developed in [8], we construct the symmetric Markovian semigroup $\{T_t\}{_t_\geq_0}$ on $\mathcal{H}$. The semigroup $\{T_t\}{_t_\geq_0}$ acts separately on two subspaces $\mathcal{H}_d$ and $\mathcal{H}_{od}$ of $\mathcal{H}$, where $\mathcal{H}_d$ is the diagonal subspace and $\mathcal{H}_{od}$ is the off-diagonal subspace, $\mathcal{H}=\mathcal{H}_d\;{\bigoplus}\;\mathcal{H}_{od}$. The restriction of the semigroup $\{T_t\}{_t_\geq_0}$ on $\mathcal{H}_d$ is Glauber dynamics, and for any ${\eta}{\in}\mathcal{H}_{od}$, $T_t{\eta}$, decays to zero exponentially fast as t approaches to the infinity.
