  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception on video material making and the effect on science teaching ability after conducting non-face-to-face teaching material making activity for elementary pre-service teachers. This activity consisted two processes. One is that elementary pre-service teachers conduct inquiry, understand related science concepts, analyze science textbooks and then make video material. The other is that they watch video materials produced by colleagues. This study was conducted on 89 elementary pre-service teachers for 8 weeks. After this activity was completed, the perception on video material making and the effect on science teaching ability of elementary pre-service teachers were investigated, and the results were analyzed. In the process of making and watching non-face-to-face teaching materials, elementary pre-service teachers showed positive results in teaching-learning, video production, and emotion and attitude toward video material making. In addition, it was found that they improved their science teaching ability through this activity and were very satisfied with this activity. However, they also mentioned several disappointments such as exclusion of learners' right to self-determination, lack of various communication channels, and errors in content of materials. This suggests that if these problems are solved, non-face-to-face classes can also be a good form of class.

  • The purpose of this study was to research the perception and concern of university students with regard to well-being, and how these affected their assessment and satisfaction of university dormitory foodservice. Therefore, a survey was administered to 328 college students that use a dormitory foodservice. The results of the survey are as follows: First, the more positive the self-centered and society-centered values in relation to well-being, the greater both the concern and will to practice well-being through the eating well-being foods. Second, the attitude toward well-being food was positively correlated with the taste, amount, temperature, appearance and shape of dishes. Third, unlike the will to practice well-being through the eating well-being foods, the greater the concern about foods of well-being, the more positive was the effect on the general satisfaction with the foodservice. The greater the satisfaction with the attributes of a foodservice had a substantial influence on the general satisfaction with the foods. That is to say, the taste and type of dishes played a key role in the general satisfaction with the foods. Fourth, the concern in relation to foods of well-being had no measurable influence on the decisions with regards to the satisfaction of a foodservice or on the intention to reuse that foodservice. In addition, in relation to the degree of satisfaction with the attributes and use of a foodservice, the taste, type, appearance and shape of dishes had an important impact on the decisions to use and reuse a foodservice. Fifth, the general satisfaction with the meals served by a foodservice operation had a measurable influence on the satisfaction with, and intention to reuse that foodservice.

  • The purpose of this study is to discuss what the incorporation of humanistic imagination into mathematics means to mathematics education and to suggest implications for mathematics education in school mathematics. Traditionally, mathematics has been perceived to be far from our life problems because it targets logical and pure abstract thinking. According to international mathematics and science studies such as TIMSS and PISA, Korean students have relatively high mathematics achievement in the international research, but their attitude toward mathematics is very negative and their awareness of why they are learning mathematics and their satisfaction with life is low. In mathematics education, linking mathematics with humanities imagination allows students to view problems of human life from a humanities perspective, and to have an understanding of others and reflect on themselves from a new perspective. The researcher introduces several examples of whether mathematics and humanistic imagination can be combined for mathematics education. In this study, the ultimate reason for learning mathematics is to achieve learners to realize the principles of life or Dharma, and to live a happier life. However, in order to expand its rich meaning by making these new attempts in mathematics education, the researcher argued that tolerance and patience are needed for many challenges and difficulties in improving the quality of mathematics content itself including applying humanistic imagination to mathematics properly.

  • In this study, tlhe relationships of high school students' abilities to solve chemistry problems with cognitive variables (logical thinking ability, mental capacity. and learning strategy) and affective variables(self-efficacy, self-concept of ability, learning goal, and attitude toward science) were investigated. The proportion of variance due to the variables for algorithmic and conceptual problem solving ability was studied by a multiple regression analysis. The results indicated that, among the cognitive variables, the logical thinking ability significantly predicted the algorithmic problem solving ability, and the learning strategy was the best predictor of conceptual problem solving ability although not significant. Among the affective variables studied, the self-concept of alility was the significant predictor of both algorithmic and conceptual problem solving abilities. The seif-efficacy was significantly correlated with conceptual problem solving ability, but it had no predictive power.

  • The discussions on Korean advertisement have been continued since 1980's. Comparing with other fields, years of research had not bear as fruitful achievements as we expected. The present situation where korean own culture has been disappearing day by day, this thesis will have significant meaning by investigating Korean culture and advertisement reflecting its culture. This thesis put emphasis on consumers who have been neglected by discussions. So I intended to study the expression of Korean advertisement and their attitudes focused on celluar phone. To investigate their attitudes, I first settled the concept of Korean Advertisement, then posed questions for identifying a shift in their altitudes. As a result of posing questions, I can see that they take friendly attitudes toward Korean advertisement regardless of their ages. And the younger they are, the less they are friendly with advertisement. The element of appeal was differentiated between ages and appeal by korean own sentiment is more effective. I think this outcome verifies the necessity to have concerns on Korean advertisement and make distinct advertisement strategy keeping step with advertisement targets.
