General Characteristics and Attitude Toward Sex of the Teenage Female Workers (10대 근로여성의 특성 및 성에 대한 태도 연구)

  • This paper attempts to search demagraphic and socio characteristics of unmarried female workers aged 15-19 years using the data of unmarried female factory workers' survey made by the Korea Institute for Population and Health. Total number of female workers analysed for the study is 250, most of them finished high school(58 percent) or middle school(37 percent). Their average monthly income is 97,000 won and the income is mainly used for self-support, family support and saving for future plan. While 67 percent of the respndents have had experience of association with opposite sex, most of them insisted that purity of female should be kept until marriage As result, sex and population education program for those young female workers should be strengthened in consideration with their age characteristics.

Educational Needs Assessment of Migrant Farm Workers and Employers Perceived by Farmers in Korea (농업 경영인이 인식한 외국인 근로자 및 농업인 고용주 교육 요구 분석)

  • This study aims to examine the educational needs of migrant farm workers and farmers in Korea. For developing survey instruments, content analysis of migrant workers & employer training programs, in-depth interviews with farmers and expert reviews had been conducted. Therefore, eight parts and twenty nine educational contents for migrant workers, five parts and twenty educational contents for farmers have been constructed. For data analysis, Borich analysis and The Locus for Focus Model were hired to analyze the educational needs assessment. Results showed that migrant workers' educational priorities were 'basic korean for farming, working attitude in farming, safety guidelines and first aid skills for rural life, safe use of pesticides and protective equipment, driving skills, safe use of agricultural machinery, operation & maintenance of agricultural machinery, pest control by crop', and for the farmers' were 'communication with migrant workers, trouble controls with employment, farming guidance, industrial accident cases and countermeasures, preventing disease and promoting mental health of migrant workers'.

  • Awareness about health is still in short supply, sufficient research and investment is falling mothayeo made, the development of image and health technology for health compared to productivity enhancement technology behind the relative reality. Through the analysis and study of special measures and health education in the country catering to propose measures and methods for this. Current analyzed and summarized to find a special health and safety training relevant provisions appear in the national legislation. Survey research methods to analyze the documents and government publications and research through an Internet search. Survey Research conducted a self - survey on new knowledge and attitude toward the concessionaires to sanitation target, the attitude of the sanitary administration, attitudes to hygiene education and hygiene practice Conditions received health education carried out by catering Federation regularly. Health education is a systematic settlement system for the external reality of professional education. Health and health administrators to establish an organizational structure strengthening phase. Employers and health care workers are raising awareness. Employers have a responsibility to prevent industrial accidents. Consequently, special health education targeted construction workers changed to fit the content-driven information on the species and the proper arrangement of time "based health education" currently being conducted.

Effects of Emotional Labor and Perceived Organizational Support on the Job Attitude of Public Health Workers (보건소 공무원들의 감정노동과 조직지원인식이 직무태도에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: This study was designed to determine the relationship among emotional labor, perceived organizational support, and job attitude in public health centers. Results: First, emotional dissonance had no effect on perceived organizational support. However, emotional endeavor had a positive effect on perceived organizational support. Second, perceived organizational support had a significant effect on job attitude. Third, emotional labor had no effect on job satisfaction, but emotional labor had a positive effect on job commitment. Fourth, perceived organizational support had a full mediating effect on the relationship between emotional labor and job attitude. The implications of this study are as follows. Conclusions: Higher emotional labor leads to lower job satisfaction and job commitment in public officials, thereby affecting job attitude. Accordingly, various systematic methods, such as flexible working hours and personnel policy, need to be implemented to alleviate the negative effects of emotional labor.

A Study on Factors Related to sex behavior and attitude of unmarried person (미혼남녀의 성행태 및 성의식 관련 요인분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse factors related to sex behavior and intention to premarital purity on the basis of theory of reasoned action. A structured Questionnaire was developed on the basis of Triandis model. Survey was conducted to 1662 unmarried person in high school students, college students, and workers. The results are as follows. For the factor of sexual behavior, male, older age had higher experience to sexual relationship, but for the factor of premarital purity, female and workers than student had higher consciousness of purity. Positive attitude to premarital purity, expectation toward preservation of purity, parental and social normative influence and facilitating factor such as experiences of sex education showed significant relationship to intention of premarital purity. Also multiple logistic regression showed that health behaviors such as smoking and drinking, sex and job were statistically significant factor for sex behavior. The result of this study suggest that educational program sex as well as good health behavior should developed and theory-based models in conducting health education research.

Drinking Behavior and Related Factors among White Collar Workers in Seoul (서울 지역 사무직 근로자의 음주에 대한 행태 및 관련요인에 관한 조사 연구)

  • In this study, I investigate the drinking behavior and related factors among white collar workers in seoul. Examination was executed with questionnaire to 520 white collar workers. Drinking behavior involves frequency of drinking, amount of alcohol consumption in a drinking situation and alcohol-related problem. Related factors involves the general characteristics, the knowledge about alcohol, the allowable attitude about drinking, work stress and stress copying. This was analyzed with percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOV A and pearson's correlation. The results are as follows: Data shows that about 96.3% of the respondents drink at least during the last year and 89.8% of the respondents drink at least during the last month. 59.4% male respondents drink 3-8 times a month, 44.8% female respondents drink 1-2 times a month. High prevalence rates were found in male, married person and those with low-religious spirit in a usual amount of drinking(p〈0.05), male in the latest amount of drinking(p〈0.05), male, forties, married person and those with the highest monthly family income and those with low-religious spirit in frequency of drinking during the latest month(p〈0.05). The score of alcohol-related problem(ARP) was as follows: male workers-2.61, female workers-1.61 out of 35. The score of ARP was statistically significantly different according to sex(p〈0.05). A positive correlation was observed between amount of drinking, frequency of drinking and ARP(p〈0.01). The score of knowledge about alcohol was 3.6 and any correlation and statistically significant difference were not observed between the knowledge about alcohol and drinking behavior. The score of allowable attitude about drinking was statistically significantly different according to sex(p〈0.05), age(p〈0.05). A positive correlation was observed between attitude about drinking and amount of drinking, frequency of drinking, ARP(p〈0.01). The work stress and stress copying had no significant relations with drinking behavior. Most respondents do not drink at stress situation.

A study on the elder care facility workers' attitude towards senior citizens and on the perception towards long-term care insurance system for senior citizens (노인시설 종사자들의 노인에 대한 태도 및 노인장기요양보험제도에 대한 인식조사)

  • Objectives : This research identified the attitude towards senior citizens targeting the workers of the facility for senior citizens to establish Long-Term Care Insurance System early on, and to identify the degree of perception on the importance of senior citizens' oral health and on the need for dental sanitation specialists. Methods : This research targeted 233 workers of the facility for the senior citizens located in some parts of the Gyeongnam area. Survey was conducted from December 1, 2009 to January 31, 2010 to identify the facility workers' attitude towards senior citizens and on the perception towards Long-Term Care Insurance System. Results : 1. As for the awareness towards senior citizens, 50.2% said that they are comfortable around senior citizens while degree of kindness towards senior citizens was 48.5%. 21.0% had experienced training for senior citizens' oral health management. As for the question on who should serve as the trainer, dental sanitation specialists were citied the most with 47.6%. 29.2% was very interested in the senior citizens' oral health while 83.7% said that oral cavity managers are needed in the facility for the senior citizens. As for the question on who should be in charge, if necessary, dental sanitation specialist was cited the most with 57.9%. 2. Awareness on the Long-Term Care Insurance System, treatment for the oral cavity sanitation by visiting homes and information on the activity of long-term care specialists was high following the experience of training for the senior citizens' oral health management in case of the workers at the senior citizens' facility. This manifested statistically significant difference(p<0.05)(p<0.01). Moreover, treatment for oral cavity sanitation manifested statistically significant difference was manifested in the treatment for oral cavity sanitation following the need for oral health managers and who should be in charge, if necessary(p<0.01). Conclusions : These results advocate the need to develop diverse senior citizens' oral health management methods and to continue to carry out actions for senior citizens' oral health improvement that can be carried out by the long-term caretakers for the management of senior citizens' oral cavity health.

Effects of Empowerment of Social Service Workers on Service Orientation: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Job-esteem Attitude (사회서비스 종사자의 임파워먼트가 서비스지향성에 미치는 영향: 직업존중감의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • In order to verify the effect of job-esteem attitude on the empowerment of social service workers on service orientation, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on manpower providing local autonomous social service investment projects in Chungcheongbuk-do through analyzing 329 copies of data. The main research results show that, work performance relationship and personal work orientation have a significant effect on job esteem among the sub-factors of empowerment, it was found that the work environment control had a significant effect on all of the service-oriented sub-factors (trust-oriented, sincerity-oriented, and type-oriented). In addition, personal work-oriented empowerment was found to have a significant effect on sincerity-oriented and type-oriented among the service-oriented sub-factors, and it was confirmed that the empowerment of social service workers had a positive effect on service orientation through employee appreciation as a medium. It was confirmed that job-esteem, which is a mediator, affects sincerity and type orientation, which are sub-variables of service orientation. In order to improve the service orientation of social service workers, it is necessary to develop a manual for a clear understanding of their work and to provide continuous and practical maintenance education so workers can develop their own abilities.

A Study on the Impact of Caregivers' Job Characteristics on Organizational Contextual Performance in Long-Term Care Facilities for the Elderly (노인장기요양시설 요양보호사의 직무특성이 조직의 맥락적 성과에 미치는 영향: 직무태도와 조직풍토의 이중매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effects of job characteristics and organizational contextual performance of care workers. This is an empirical analysis of the dual mediating effect of job attitude and organizational climate. A total of 274 caregivers were recruited. SASS process macro was used for data analysis. The results of the study were as follows. First, there was a significant correlation between job characteristics, job attitude, organizational climate, and contextual performance. Second, job attitude and organizational climate had a double mediating effect between job characteristics and contextual performance. Third, job attitude and organizational climate had a significant mediating effect between job characteristics and contextual performance. Based on this, psychological voluntary job competency improvement methods and follow-up studies were suggested to improve the job performance of care workers.

Effects of Oral Health Education for Occupational Health Nurses (산업간호사를 대상으로 한 구강보건교육의 효과 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of oral health education for occupational health nurses. The subjects were 300 occupational health nurses which participated in continuing education of Korean Association of Occupational Health Nurses. Oral health education contents consisted of basic knowledge about oral health, prevention of periodontal disease, oral health care for workers, and oral health program for workers. In order to evaluate the effects of oral health education, we performed questionnaire surveys before and after the education regarding their perceived oral health status and concern for oral health, knowledge about prevention of periodontal disease, attitude about oral health promotion, and needs for implementation of oral health promotion program. The data were analyzed by paired t-test to compare the change of knowledge and attitude according to the education. Linear regression analysis was carried out to assess the factors related to the improvement of their knowledge and attitude. The findings indicated that oral health knowledge and attitude of occupational health nurses were significantly improved by oral health education. A factor of the improvement of knowledge and attitude was concern for oral health. And they would like to be provided primarily oral health education for occupational health nurses. Finally, this study suggested that oral health education for occupational health nurses had significantly effects on improving oral health knowledge and attitude.
